I recently tasted this Rum with Paul McFadyen. It blew my mind and I instantly bought a bottle. Paul is a Legend and gave me some great Rum education. It’s great in a painkiller.
Haha. Good old Fads. Yeah love him. We were supposed to do some Vids together but dates never stacked up. Still trying to get him on a Sunday Night Live. We’ll see. He’s a busy boy.
Almost all of my rum cocktails feature at least a little OFTD in them - this rum elevates so many drinks, oh so lovely. Surprisingly, my favorite rum combo is 1/2 OFTD and 1/2 Brugal 1888. By itself the brugal is mild, but paired with the OFTD both shine more than the sum of their parts!
Outstanding review. After half a gill, I came to the conclusion that this is so high octane, it makes my favorite vodka and scotch seem like baby drool. Delicious too.
A great stuff for a good grog: Strong black tea (Frisian tea) with rock sugar and a dash of Plantation OFTD, also a drop of milk - delicious, especially after a hike in winter!
Like you said, it’s great as a sipper and great as a mixer! What more could you want! That’s near perfect! Great review. Can’t wait for the x app to come over! Cheers Steve!
Cut it back? Dilute it? Sacrilege!! I keep coming back to this and can't fail to adore it.. And I don't really know why.. I have various Foursquare ECS and yet I just can't help to love this one. Cracking review BTW, it's a dichotomy this one
@Doctor Tremulant: I paid 26€ for my last bottle. Have seen prices from 22€ to 30€. I am from Germany too, most of the time I buy my bottles from the Weinquelle Lühmann
Just bought this (following your reviews) along with rum bar overproof. This is brilliant and a great addition to the Plantation range. There is something I'm tasting in it that I havent from any other rums and I just cant pick it out, maybe its sultanas! Rum bar silver is completely different to any other white rum I've tasted so cant wait to try the overproof.
I really appreciate this rum...in my housebar it is a stem..a important player.. In germany u pay around 20-25 euro...that is amazing...i paid 21euro ..for that taste...gorgous. I prefer it in mai tai...and original planters punch.. Regards

This Rum is awesome! I was introducing a friend of mine into rum and this one was his favorite out of our mixed rum flight, so it seems to be a great entry level rum as well. But I get a very prominent plum note, maybe with a bit of cinnamon, that you missed. Would be interested if you get that aswell when thinking about it. It took me some time but now I can’t get it out of my head when drinking the OFTD.
Im a pussers gunpowder proof fan, but for some reason I can't order it anymore, I think I might like this better. Virginia ABC is hit and miss. They have a monopoly on the liquor market, like the EIC.
Idk whats going on with my nose and tastebuds but I get OVERWHELMING banana on this. I don't like banana unfortunately so this one is kind of hard to enjoy
Not a huge fan of rum as I whiskey and cognac. Ironically I hated every whiskey aged in ex-rum barrels I tried so far)) But separately they work quite fine for me. This 69% ABV however is very tempting, coz vast majority of my stash is barrel proof )) and it's only $30 at a local store. Seems like there's no reason not to try it))

Love OFTD. It’s a BANGER

Haha. Im with ya. It’s a great Rum. Although at 69%. A little too much to do much of it neat. 😂
The timing is perfect, I was just considering buying a bottle today!
Do it! You won’t regret it, this rum is incredibly fruity and tasty. One of the best in this price range

I got a bottle of this at the Duty Free in Bermuda for $29.99 which made the trip!

Can’t wait to try this one. Really enjoying the overproofs that I once thought were just for setting fire to 🤦♂️😂
hahaha, a bit of Fire on a Tiki Cocktail is needed! But they do taste pretty good in their own rights

Hope you like it! Cheers for watching!
Best thing is, the price for this bottle in netherlands is around 26 euros only 🤩
Flippin' Nora! Love to serve myself a bit OFTD with some ice as a night cap 👍🙂
Thats a great way to send yourself to sleep!
@@StevetheBarmanUK That and watching a STB video 😋 Just kidding Steve! 😉
Just bought a Plantation single cask Jamaica 2007 and a single cask Peru 2006. I also bought Fiji and zaymaca from Plantation as well cheers Andrew

Thanks guiding me to my next purchase!
Hope you enjoy it! Cheers for watching!
I once drove from Toronto to Ottawa to buy a case.

I'll have to remember that when i get another bottle! Can't say I get the Plum specifically, but interesting!
definitely one of the few bottles I always have on stock
It's so many peoples must stock Rums
I like the OFTD mixed with lime seltzer. Nothing more needed.
One of my favorite rums!
Yeah, it's a belter! Thanks for watching.

i take it that Bundy OP is not available over in the UK
Lols. Bundy ain’t available in the UK full stop! It was in 2005-2015. But these days, nah. This was special delivery from a Subscriber.
Basically $100 aud at a very large retailer.
Very close to Diplimatico in price.
Not sure if "close to Diplo Price" is a good or bad thing... 😂
Could you make an old fashion with this ?
Totally. It has an amazing flavour
Idk whats going on with my nose and tastebuds but I get OVERWHELMING banana on this. I don't like banana unfortunately so this one is kind of hard to enjoy
Give more woody character
had this a few years ago was decent not a fan of plantation rums but this was decent not sweet
I don't think this mixes very well. It's best in a glen cairn as is.
Whaaaaat??! I mean it’s a great neat sipper. But it’s designed for mixing. That’s it’s whole existence. It’s fantastic in Highballs or Cocktails.

To much drama
Like a sitcom
Thank you! Do love a good Sitcom. 😘
This is terrible rum, taste like chemicals...🫡
