Every time I watch your videos I see a familiar sight on your shelf. You have a Spinning Spools binder that I have also. I would get new quilt patterns and file them in the binder every month or so back in the late 80s I think. I just finished making a Fisherman Fred baby quilt using one of the patterns from that binder. Good memories.

I was so stressed out yesterday trying to set up my projector! Finally walked away with a huge headache!

I 100% agree with the recommendation to take a break when things are getting stressful!! 🌸 I wonder if that's why I didn't like my 8640 - I used quilting cottons (they were lighter weight than normal, but still). Maybe I should give it another shot?? 🌸 The 9924 skirt looks so good on you - love the fabric you chose 🌸

Agree with you on all the points on stress!! The other thing would be, just keep making the same pattern over and over like I seem to at the moment 😂. That skirt is adorable on you and now, you don't need those full on pockets. I also like the idea of the floral lining under the rayon, it's a neat idea to see a glimpse of flower underneath. I can see you are going to be on the phone to Stephanie soon talking about RV renovation 😂, sounds like an awesome challenge.
Lovely to see you and what you've been getting up too. We keep saying it but we definitely need a zoom ❤xx❤

Amen sister. I always go to Isaiah 41:10 when my depression rears its ugly head. "Do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." God is so good.

Thanks for the hints on Simplicity 9924. I thought it would be great for gardening. I'm just going to omit the fly front and turn it into a wrap around apron. Mainly wanted the pockets anyway. Just found your channel; thanks for the realistic hints for practical sewing.

Why you did the pockets off the lovely skirt? They were fine. Maybe I would have put them more on the front instead of the side.
    Interesting projects!

I think it's wonderful that you are brave enough to tell us you take medicine for mood. I also take several medicines for my mood. I had a hard thump to my head. Couldn't speak properly for awhile and became a raging, horrible person. I no longer am afraid to tell that I take medicine for my brain. Lots of people take medicine for lots of different reasons. How is taking medicine for head/mood conditions different from a thyroid, blood pressure, or any other health issue? Thank you for the little bit of Jesus.

Hi, Jen! Love your tips! I almost had to chuckle when you mentioned, “sew a simple project that you know will be a win.” Sometimes I rely on this. Reminds me of these quilt-like coasters I thought would be easy. It looked easy at sewing class. The first five, well…. They went in trash! 🤣🤣🤣The last five, I kept😊 ❤️

Oh how I wish I had some sewing friends! I would love to make a shift dress with a turtleneck or blouse because it does get quite chilly here in Virginia. Something a bit funny happened at my church this past Sunday. We were all enjoying a beautiful hymn and video comes up on the screen. When without warning this commercial breaks through “ This is what 5 lbs of body fat looks like.” Needless to say everyone started laughing and the sound guy comes running down the aisle towards the sound equipment.

Hi Jen. You could always use the reverse side of the print rayon for the lining; the flowers might show through less, plus the inside would be more vibrant. I hope it's stress-free sewing for you this week, Antonia

Our sewing projects are often so easy...until we do them! Major stress for me this past week when I carefully basted, stitched and trimmed self-made bias tape to armholes and discovered I'd sewed it to the wrong side! Rip, rip, rip...your suggestions are correct!

I agree with all the tips for reducing sewing stress. Prayer breaks help a lot.
Thanks for the heads up on S9924. My daughter has that pattern and is a less experienced sewist. I’ll probably get it and make it for myself so I can get her through it.

Lol 😆 I had to laugh at your revelation that reading the instructions is helpful. I have an embroidery design business, and I write step by step instructions, as well as provide pictures. A suprising amount of people simply don’t read instructions and they come back to me wanting to know why it didn’t work out. So yea….follow the instructions-Step By Step. You’ll thank yourself later. 😅

Hi Jen! I couldn't agree with you more re: eliminating stressful sewing! The biggest mistakes I've ever made were sewing when tired, and assuming the instructions instead of actually reading them. No sewing for me this week, as usual. However, I finally got to FL and just moved into my new home! Enjoyed the severe thunderstorms we had in Palm Bay/Melbourne yesterday (Thursday). Holy smokes!!!! Driving on the I-95 was a challenge, to say the least. Hope you and your daughter are successful with renovations! Dori

I love the cargo pocket skirt.😻Don’t take the pockets off - they look fine, and that length of skirt and style really suits you. Re the Simplicity dress, I have moaned to Carole😩about my problems with this one, and it may be all about the fabric I used. I agree with all of the tips, and this is how I sew. Good for newer sewers. Thanks for all your videos.

We shall call it “the apocolypse skirt”!! That was too funny! The flowers showing through on the vogue dress might be a really cute design feature! I can picture you in your tool belt working on that RV. Is that an LBD you are wearing? Black looks nice on you!!! Love you! Cant wait to see you next weekend!!❤

RV - I follow someone who redid an RV and they didn't think about the weight they were adding. It didn't go well. They had to redo most of what they did.

What stresses me is sewing by deadline. So I don’t. These days there are certain items I know I’ll need. When I think of them I make them that way I’m not racing against time.
