2nd Chemo & New Lifespan Estimates!

  • First 2 weeks of chemo are done, just started the 2nd course today!
Spent 6 hours getting the pre-meds (for anti-nausea, etc.) in the clinic, then got my fanny pack full of "chemo juice", which will drain over the next 2 days, and be removed the day after that.
TL;DR: The past 2 weeks (on chemo) I've felt the best I've felt in a year! All symptoms better. Chemo side effects supposed to get worse each course, but so far they're almost non-existant (which is nice!). My energy levels are the highest today in months. More active, sleeping better, less pain, "nicer" bathroom trips lol.
    IMPORTANT LINKS!
    - The Fixable Back Course: www.Fixable.me This is the exact approach I use with my patients, to get them out of pain, and keep their pain from coming back. If you have low back pain and it's not going away, this approach beats the pants off everything else I've seen!
    - CBD gummies for sleep! I use the brand Hometown Hero (made right here in Austin!), and take the Peak Delta-8 Gummies: hometownhero.sjv.io/y25vBy NOTE: These are 100 mg per gummy - I split each gummy into 4 pieces (25 mg each), and only take 25 mg about an hour before bed. For me, they make me extremely relaxed, and feel like I’ve had about 3 glasses of wine. I wouldn’t take more than 25 mg at first, for sure. But they help me fall asleep faster, and stay asleep better than anything I’ve used so far!
    - My favorite hamstring stretch! If you have low back pain, start here! (And you’ll see my brother John demonstrating the stretch!): • Doorway Hamstring Stretch
    - Self-massage for hips & glutes (also great for low back or hip pain!): • My guidelines for hip ...

retired hospice worker here. THIS Is why I tell everyone : NEVER do ANY chemo, radiation, immunotherapy. ANYTHING they offer to you unless its a scan, refuse. It all KILLS YOU. The fact he is a chiropractor is SHOCKING that he was unaware of all of this and bought in to all the crap.

@@hs4265 Horribly irresponsible statements. While I can appreciate how your former professional life may have colored your views, saying that nobody should consider use of any chemotherapy, immunotherapy or radiation therapy is massively irresponsible. And flat out wrong. A large number of patients are cured by these standard approaches - I suppose they would also say they would prefer to “meet” you here on FB, as opposed to meeting you as part of their hospice care team.

Hi Dan, i am living in Belgium and following you since a few weeks now. My auto corrector is enerving, correcting every word wrongly (i am Dutch native speaker). I want to react dow, because i think you are such a brave, selfless person. I have breast cancer myself, but doing good for the moment. I want to tell you that you’re Messages are indeed important for those, young, otherwise Healthy people who are going through this. I was diagnosed in oktober 2019 and saw on the internet a lot of people (beautiful, as well inside as outside, eating well, no drinking, no smoking, no drugs, running or doing other sports, men, women, lovely people i surely would have liked to have known better). They all have one thing in commun: they all got cancer, and are now no longer with us. I don’t get it. They were all good hearted people but all Died young, In their fourties or fifties. I never was able to send them a Message, because discovered their existings afterwards. The purpose of your vlogs is to tell people they are not alone living this cancer journey. My purpose is to let you know you are not alone neither : cancer just overcame us. You are 52, I was 55, many were in their 30ies, 40ies, 50ies. I hope you Will get through this. But it is true that in our case we must, while hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. In life, one must be greatful for all the good and accepting all the bad. There is no other issue. I Will continue following you. You are not alone Dan! Sending you a big hug. Griet

It's always puzzled me that if the chemo can shrink the tumors to very tiny ones, then still the prognosis is as gloomy as 30% for 3 years. I mean, what's killing the patient if the tumors shrink to non-existent?

I am vaccinated but I am still wearing a mask to protect my toddler as vaccinated people can still pass the virus along. With the delta variant, the kids are at more risk now, and of course not vaccinated yet. So, I am with you in that mask wearing.

With stage 4 cancer you got two options.
      1) You fight which also means accepting some pain from the treatments but you got a small chance to survive.
      2) You don't fight. Which means that at first you have a little bit less pain than with treatments, but you got no chance to survive.

Don't be fooled by his condition in this video. That's poison being pumped into his body and it's cumulative. Been the this twice now in 5 years. Had to stop early because it raises your creatine level and that will not go back down. That has to be watched closely. I had Folfox infusion, wearing the pack and was told this is bad and switched to IV's. Can't remember all that went on during those times because everything becomes blurry. I did survive and I'm 13 years out now. Believe me if you saw him months later he would be singing a different tune.

How can you possibly predict when people will die with stage four? No one can! Even doctors are wrong sometimes, even with stage four. Some people have gone on to live to their 90’s after being given two weeks to live. But most of all, why would you post something so heartless and cruel? If you don’t have anything good to say, then don’t say anything. It’s hard enough that someone is going through such tough things. How would you like it if some stranger said this to you or your loved ones over UA-cam?
