Oh this is so lovely!! Living in the U.S. when would I ever have the opportunity to see this live and in action. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to make this video. I could love this place, too. So quaint and old but busy with people living their lives. Wonderful!
When I was around 6 or 7, the last steam train went through our village before the tracks were pulled up. My little sister was scared, so dad picked her up. He asked me if I was scared, too. "No, it's wonderful!" I still love trains. Just as well because they go by my house every 30-40 minutes. It's amazing what you can get used to. :) It's rare to see a passenger train here, but the freight trains are enormously long. Sometimes you have to wait for almost 30 minutes for them to go across the road. Jon in rural BC, Canada
Wow!!!!! What a wonderful video!!! Thank you so much for sharing. We absolutely loved it. The train 🚂 was beautiful. I love when you take us along on your trips.
Such a beautiful place. I was able to stand on the bridge and get that great view of the steam train approaching. I got steamed too! Thanks for bringing back memories. I don’t know if I’ll every be able to visit England again.
Oh fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing, brings back memories of my childhood going to the seaside on the steam train. One day I would love to go on the Jacobite, from Fort William in Scotland to Maillaig, it was the one used in the Harry Potter films and is one of the most scenic railways in the world. I wouldn't mind going through the Canadian Rockies on a train either! One day............!!!!
Wonderful memories of journeys on that railway. Takes you back to childhood. Whitby to Pickering, watching all the old heartbeat episodes at the moment. Love the 60s music. Going to enjoy reminiscing with you Ilona. Great video. Xx
I know it well.i was born in York and brought up in Scarborough.i then went back to York ages 18 for work.i now live in Norwich.such s lovely video.thankyou🙂🐕
Ilona - Steam trains always bring back memories of my youth, going most Sundays with my Brother to either Hornsea or Withernsea. Before lockdown me & Jenny had a 3 day trip with National Holidays, which included a steam train ride from Pickering. Quite an old train and fusty smelling inside, but a nice ride :) PS - I didn't watch *Heartbeat* but was told parts of it was recorded in Goathland - the outdoor village scenes *Aidensfield* anyway.
Hello. My videos are a bit basic, I haven't got time to learn how to edit them. I just point and shoot. I'm not very good at the technical side of it. I am working on the shakiness, I now have a stick to mount the camera on. It's a Canon SX740 HS 40x optical zoom. Very pleased with it. £350 from LCE camera shop in Lincoln.
