Nice, The Antigonid Empire is one of the hardest starts tbh, those initial scripted crisis are such a pain in the ass to deal with, I personally have never finished a game with them, I prefer to chill and choose my targets instead of being piled on by a thousand nations at the start of the game. Props to you btw you're definitely getting better at the game, the learning curve of this game is steep but fun to learn.
Based on my run as the Antigonids, i declared war on Macedon to conquered Corinth from the start. Then the events of the Diadochii declaring war on me didn't happen. I didn't know there were those events until after i read the wiki. My whole campaign i was just smashing one by one the rest of the Diadochii asking myself why the people say the Antigonids are difficult.
It is vanilla. I just waited to the event that gives you claims on the rest of diadochii kingdoms, which happens at the beggining just like yours, and then go on with my wars. It was one of the most easiest and funniest campaigns i have done @@Red_Zed
Oh cool that’s a good strat then, I’m pretty sure Invictus which is what I play with still has the other wars still tho, but I’ll have to have a look ;)
I'm trying to remember how I did this a few years ago. I think the most effective tactic for the first war was to bribe the mercenaries hired by Egypt and Selu. It's more expensive that hiring mercenaries yourself, but if they accept the bribe, you completely flip the balance of power.
Yeah that’s a good plan, I just didn’t seem to have any good events when it came to money so I was stuck on really low cash the whole time. I could’ve forced some out though tbf
Well when Alexander the Great was asked who should be his heir he said "To the strongest" So you really deserve the title of Alexander's heir after you managed to accomplish this😅
Alexander never said τῷ κρατίστῳ (to the strongest), he said τῷ Κρατερός (to Krateros), if you read his last will, Alexander name Krateros as regent until his child come of age, but because Krateros wasn't present on Alexander death bed (he was replacing the veterans and wounded for conquest of arabian peninsula), Alexander generals clam otherwise. Krateros also the only general beside Hephaestion to marry Achaemenid Princess alongside Alexander in Susa
Nicely done man, but remember to always lower taxes!!! It will boost research and will considerably reduce rebellions, commerce is much much better anyway, and you'll end up saving money anyway as you won't have to hire as many mercs.
damn your vid just popped in my algorithm, i completely forgot this game even existed lmao but its cool you still play it and you made a good playthrough. Keep up the good vids
Got me excited on the game again 😂 I’m now playing as the seleukid empire trying to restore Alexander’s empire so far I got all of the Levant and sinia and going after Egypt rn thank you for reminding about this beautiful game!!!
I like to go quasi historical when I play the antigonids. I blitz macedon and thrace before antigonus dies. His death triggers the event but I still keep my land in Europe and Asia Minor land because thrace and Macedon aren’t alive for the scripted partition and I form macedon. Antigonids have their own mission tree for forming macedon because thats what they did after their empire fell apart. Also yeah the other diadochi declaring on you is pretty rng. Sometimes they do it manually, sometimes through events, sometimes they just won’t. It’s better when they send the event ultimatums because refusing them gives you manpower and stability.
I think it depends on the RNG a lot. Epirus has the advantage of not being dog piled on and able to pounce on Macedon whilst it’s fighting it’s other wars, however you are really poor and small. Antigonids on the other hand is horrible at the start but if you get good RNG you can become quite powerful quickly. It took me 4 attempts before I got a winnable run with them but once I did it was pretty much game over for everyone else :)
This chad man spent more time to create Alexanders Empire in a game than Alexander in real life🫡
Literally 😆
Harder the second time because the world saw it coming. Oh, he's Great? Stop him, he's headed for the window!
😅
>man named Antigonos the one-eyed
>mission tree named Antigonos's vision
i wont belive this was a coincidence
The best mission name in the game? 😅

Yeah it wasn’t fun with the first wars and then the constant rebellions after. Thanks man :)

Is that vanilla or Invictus mod bro? Invictus mod doesn’t have a CB at the start but you could also no cb them if you did that? :)

Not true - it is a matter of debate
Thanks Creed! 👌😊

Interesting thanks for the context man :)
@@MorningStar-15 Who wrote the will?
GJ man. Thank you for posting content for this game. This is Paradox's most unappreciated game.
Thanks man, yeah I agree!

Thanks man! Good tips I’ll make sure I do that next time. Thanks for the tips bro 😊

Thanks man I appreciate it! I’m glad you enjoyed 😊
"we have crap troops at the start"-Zed
me: you have Phrygia, that was to be expected
Hahaha true 😆
maybe the true macedonian empire was the friends we made along the way
From Antigonos to Demetrius, all were happy 😆
What difficulty did you play this at? Your rng was marvelous!
Just normal not easy, yes it was great this run but it took 5 hours and 4 other tries before it was good lol 😭😅
Got me excited on the game again 😂 I’m now playing as the seleukid empire trying to restore Alexander’s empire so far I got all of the Levant and sinia and going after Egypt rn thank you for reminding about this beautiful game!!!
Awesome np man I hope you enjoy! 😊
very good video, i really like this game
Thanks man! Me too 👌
great vid!
Thanks man! I appreciate it ❤️
I’m wondering if you’re gigachad enough to accomplish the Achaemenid Tree?
I will do it when I get round to it on A-Z! 😊
Nothing would make me wish I was Alexander the 4th in the hands of Kassander but many things make me wish I could’ve gotten my hands on Kassander
😭😅
All my homies hate Cassander
👀
When are you going to continue your Rome campaign
Those videos are set for every Friday mate :)
You should try a patauion run
I’m doing all the Invictus mod updated nations A-Z so we will get there eventually 😊

👌
Now full fill Alexanders dream and conquer arabia and india
I think I’m going to play tall first and see how powerful I can make it then see about expansion :)
Good idea
👌
You suffered so much… I feeled like subscribe is least I can do for such great job.
Haha thanks man I’m glad you enjoyed! :)
Think Antoginid start is harder than Epirus-->Argead Empire?
I think it depends on the RNG a lot. Epirus has the advantage of not being dog piled on and able to pounce on Macedon whilst it’s fighting it’s other wars, however you are really poor and small.
Antigonids on the other hand is horrible at the start but if you get good RNG you can become quite powerful quickly. It took me 4 attempts before I got a winnable run with them but once I did it was pretty much game over for everyone else :)
Epirus is easy
One Eye all seen to conquer the world.
The all seeing eye! 😅
Good job but the Antigonids are definitely not the hardest faction in the game
Thanks man, I think they are one of them if you want to not give away the land at the start
Clickbait brother
@@Red_Zed bro they arnt that hard xD u have 2 lifetimes of Alexander Cb And Can Full annex macedon very easy
U dont even need to give up syria
