Ah Van the man. We here in Ireland are so blessed. He could live anywhere yet he chooses to still live in Dublin. He's voice melts me. Only CDs l have are Van, and Native American flute music. Bliss in the now.
I've been listening to Van Morrisons music for many decades by now, have gone through all the eight tracks to LP's and tapes and owned his greatest hits boxed CD's, I love finding his recent concerts online and hope to be able to see him at a show sometime. I'm an older Native American also.
@@RMcGivern He has had a house in Dublin for the last 20 or so years. A friend on mine built his garden wall. It was out in Killiney or Dalkey or one of those very posh parts of Dublin southside.
This is where Van truly shines. When he sings from the soul, you feel and understand him. His songs reach deep, where you feel them. Not just hear them. He may not have the most beautiful voice, but he can sing a song better than most. He’s got soul.
This, followed by "Bright Side of the Road", is my new morning coffee wake-up mood adjustment, being almost 60 and in a wheelchair since last year.....life is GOOD...well tolerable anyway. Thank You Sir - a lifelong fan.
Imagine a compacted angry rhinocerous charging at you.....well they say an enraged Ivan Morrison can be like what he apparently used to be, a right fucking handful.
Love it...most excellent! Your lyrics reveal where I'm at now in time! I wonder if I had to reach the darkness of my soul to start a brand new day...the darkness is always there but now I hope for a brighter light that sparks better days ahead! If writing comes from the soul, one's universe, God must have given you those lyrics to keep people like me to keep hope alive...
Heard this yesterday for the first time, 2 plus hours later it was still playing, the Man with the distinct voice, Thank you Mr.Morrison, your music has been something I have enjoyed time and time again, Respect and Love, way up here in Canada
I was going to write some new about my Celtis cousin who lives down the road from my shack, the very great and blessed Van The Man Morrison but instead I will use a reply that I received from Pat Whitman ( who used the following words( Van is truly a healer of the mind, heart, and soul! God bless him for his priceless music.
The Dark Night of Our Soul makes me feel like it is a " Blessing by the Grace of God to be here every day"! Graced by the Great Van Morrison. We are Truly Blessed!!!
My dad was a huge Van Morrison fan, in turn so am I. When my dad passed away I made a CD with his favorite Van the man songs to play at his viewing at the wake. Nearly everyone that came to pay respects came up to me and told me this was a perfect tribute for Dad. Every time i play one of Van's great songs I can't help but think of Dad and how much we all miss him. Thank you Van Morrison for helping to keep his memory alive for me.
Music is a wonderful time machine that I often used to visit forgotten memories of lost loved ones and they come alive again, if only for a short while. I used to find it difficult to listen to my dad's favourite songs, mainly because they were bloody awful, joking aside, I did find some stuff difficult as we had all grown up around our parents music and it ingrains into our dna but now after 20 years of his passing I find them a comfort and they remind me that they were songs that made him happy so I should too be happy and not look back in sadness because death does not own these songs - life does. Lovely comment Garry. Best wishes.
Well done, Garry! I'll bet your dad was there with you all enjoying the rapture. I hope someone does the same for me when my time comes. Keep up the great work. ;-)
Amidst my collections of The Beatles, The Stones, The Who, Dire Straits and numerous towering greats of rock and pop, I have more songs from Van Morrison than anyone else. I didn't plan for that to happen, and if you'd have asked me who I thought the greats were, or even who my favorite was, he might not have even come to mind before I realized this: he is simply, quietly, unobtrusively the music of my life.
Love the organ in this tune. Really carried the groove of the song. Love Van, name another solo artist who has remained relative for 7 decades? Legend is too small a world.
You just can't beat that beautiful sound of a Hammond B3 through a good old wooden Leslie speaker! Wow, I played that combo too, back in those wonderful youthful band days, beautiful memories.

Profound, beautiful and timely. Shades of the 16th century Spanish mystic, San Juan de la Cruz...
Have always loved the sound of his voice kinda other worldly and his composing skills are brilliant 💖👍🥰
Van you make any dark night, so much better for a soul. 😍😍😍😍😍
