There is a prophecy which states that one day a storm of 3310's which have been dropped will re-enter the universe one day, and destroy the very fabric of space and time.
thetobo101 u can guess it through watching the s7 drop test on an other video, which Phonebuff does have, while comparing it with the s7 active in a battle vs, the s6 active, makes sense right?
Yea I would trade that ugly design for some durability, grip ability, anti fingerprint and larger battery. Too bad it's exclusive on AT&T 😡 and it cost a lil more than the S7
actually to get an S7 Active is so easy. just buy an S7 with a extra battery case then put it a tempered glass. it could be as strong as S7 Active. with more beauty actually.
as shown in JerryRigEverything's video, it has a plastic screen which obviously is extremely unlikely to shatter. however, it is really prone to scratching, while a gorilla glass 4 glass screen will shatter but is more resistant to scratches
The biggest problems with S7 Active that nobody is talking about: 1. You CANNOT do mobile Hotspot tethering. AT&T won't let you. 2. Bootloader is locked. You can't root or make any software changes. 3. Comes with TONS of AT&T bloatware that keeps on interfering with normal usage. And no, it cannot be disabled either.
I've had both a S5 and S5 active. Currently using the S5 due to breaking the camera on the active, but the active doesn't need a case at all. It's extreamly durable. The ONLY reason my actives camera is broke is because the lens landed directly on a rock, cracked, I never got it fixed. Then water got in it. It still works. Just has black dots.
Thanks for doing this!! I hate drop tests that are like 20 ft tall or higher because that ain't realistic to me... But this tells me to get a phone case as soon as I buy the s7 on Thursday because I drop phones all the time.
+Escorpio123PS drops from a couple of feet, that's easy for a "durable" phone. Did you see the video of the DT2 dropped from a drone @ 200+ feet? A little shattered in a corner a continued working normally.
+iKing Furqaan I think u need to check some videos of the DT2 (and I'm talking about the 2015 one, not the original Droid Turbo), but everyone thinks whatever wants to, so I'm letting you think that...
Dude I love your "drop" machine, that is so cool and accurate with the drops. This might be the coolest "drop test" video I have ever seen........ and I have seen quite a few. HaHa!
I have a galaxy s7 active and have had it for 13 days. I dropped it for the first time from my pocket and it shattered the glass 3 foot drop... I guess I'm really jealous of the one you show in this video!!
I am so sorry! IT must of landed on a really weird angle. The thing with the face drop in the video, the lip arond the phone catches it so the glass doesn't even hit. I got mine today and I still think im going to put a case on it
Don't try to warranty through Samsung. They will lie to you saying its covered then when they get it the will say its not covered and here's your $182 bill.... INSURANCE COPAY IS CHEAPER!!! I was lied to by 5 people in this last week and know one honored what was told to me. I still don't have my phone back and its been gone since the day I posted the last message. Aside from the warranty through Samsung. The s7 active is an awesome OPERATING phone. What happened to me with Samsung would take 2 days to write out and post. Ridiculous..... Just take my word for it. If it breaks... Insure it.... BTW my s3 is what still came through for me while dealing with this. Had since day 1. Still working perfect... Good luck!
No offense sir but you can't expect them to give you a new phone without paying a deductible lol. I pay 8 a month, and once i break it I can pay $200 for a new one
My deductible is $100 through the insurance. When I sent the phone to Samsung they said the screen was covered under warranty. But when they got it. The told me it was not. Att has vanishing deductible every 6 months you go without making a claim. Starting at 200 and bottoming out at 99. I've haven't made a claim in 4 years. I've paid the 7.99 a month for that 4 years. And so everyone knows. That vanishing deductible will continue through the purchase of a new phone. Meaning it will NOT go back to $200. I hope I cleared this up.
Damn man I just got my GS7 and I got a case for it before I even got the phone! If the Active series wasn't an AT&T exclusive I would have gotten the Active because that's impressive, although does the finger print scanner still work?
So glad I'm upgrading to an s7 active from my s5 active(also still non cracked). My friends don't think the active variants make a difference, this video proves them very wrong lol
Nice video! I have always gotten the active version over the regular of the galaxy line ups. I currently run the s6 active with a case. I thinks it is the I blason case, but the phone is in virtually brand new condition. I figured if you put so much money into a phone get one that will last.
considering the screen is mostly plastic it won't shatter from normal drops, so taking it out camping and dropping it will do no harm, however putting it in the same pocket as any metal object will leave oermentant scratch marks on the plastic screen
PLEASE you are the best drop test professionals on youtube can you do drop test to most of the phones even old models like s5 active s6 active lg g4 g3- note - droid turbo 1&2 htc m8-m9....etc
its not a lie lmfao, the first layer of the screen is plastic and its fused with the gorilla glass... stop calling a company liars before doing your own research.
You should do a corner drop, every time I've ever broken a phone it's because it somehow landed on the corner and spiderwebbed out. 50 drops onto the screen is amazing tough.
So basically we are comparing a phone with the same phone with an armor and we even suprised us when he basically survives every drop without scratches... Good one
Honestly, drop tests won't prove how long lasting a device is.. company and community support also factor in which is one of the reasons the 10 is praised as much as it is. In a year from now I'd like to see how the S7 holds up to the 10, which one will be rocking Android N, which one will have more community support etc. I learned from my Note 4 and S6 which received Marshmallow 7 months after Google released it, and not so surprisingly a month after the S7 was released which was rocking Marshmallow out of the box, to me it just shows that customers aren't the priority for Samsung as selling people a new device with the latest Android version is far more lucrative than updating last year's model in a timely manner.
The S7 Active was my last phone. I dropped it all the time and it still worked. I've got the S8 Active now. What would my phones be if they weren't Active
Hello Phonebuff, I can’t find the video that you smashed the iPhone 6S Plus with sledgehammer and it caught fire. Is it was block? I really really love that video so much💕
I knew it! S7 Active will sit at the top rank, that's why I requested this test 2 days ago.MIL-STD is really something. Btw, you must drop it till it stops working. Wonder how many time it will take.
Considering the S7 Active is simply a phone with a built-in case, this was exepcted. But... how does an S7 with a good case fare in this test? I'd much rather be able to replace/swap cases then to have a permanent case be scuffed and damaged forever.
S7 Active have more than that. The screen is shatterproof and the dust and water resistant is far higher than regular S7. After dozens of drops, I still have my S5 active and it refuses to die
actually no, cases doesnt efficiently help. Tempered glass wont either (not shatter proof and the fact that s7 is shattered). This device is not for you, not for those who like stylishly accessorized their phones; it's for active, outdoorsy type.
I don't care about stylish cases and I spend no more than $10 on a case. But let's be honest here - you really won't be throwing your phone around on purpose, even if you are active outdoors. Most people would be completely fine with an Otterbox case that they can easily replace when it gets damaged, rather than live with a phone that's damaged.
I'm glad I watched this video. I'm a very clumsy person with butterfingers, so I've dropped many phones in the past. I'm surprised my iPhone hadn't just given up on me!
Not gonna lie that bonus round was idiotic. That phone's glass will never break when dropped on a flat surface. There is a lip on the phone that isn't there with a normal phone that stops the glass from directly impacting the ground.
+luigynkaren062011 there is a lip, look at the front, you can see the scuffs there, there is no shatterproof glass, it would be plastic coated as the Droid Turbo
It also uses a special plastic like coating that prevents shatter like the turbo series. Not just the lip. Both those together make it drop proof on any flat surface
Altema22 I can almost guarantee it wouldn't have lasted even half as long as it did without the lip. That method of testing is pointless for this device. He could easily have just used a case that adds a lip(even the smallest lip imaginable) to any other phone and none of those phones would break when falling face first like that. The case would get destroyed before the phone's front face.
God damn. The S7A does not give a single fuck. It's like someone turned a krogan into a phone. I call it ... the phogan. Thanks a lot for making this video. This is one of the things I was wondering about the S7A, how durable it was. I'm sold.
honestly if anyone is thinking of buying the s7 active and you live outside of the USA then don't , as software updates are a hassle to get if you aren't in the States (won't come OTA & Smart switch isn't too reliable with over seas ohone) and on top of that At&t are pathetically slow in releasing OS updates . Furthermore you will not have any warrant either if you aren't in the States.
Both! They used a lip so the screen is recessed, and the screen top layer is plastic. Put a flame on it and the screen will melt (see the burn test on JerryRigEverything).
Software updates will kill this phone not drop tests.
but true
stephenroxx007 yes
Umut Uçar even worse with apple iPhones
Gabryela Papp apple phones get and handle new updates like a boss even if it's 4years old..btw i have a galaxy s8+ so i'm not a apple fanboy
Georg Wagner *cough* *cough* iPhone 4s on latest ios 9
A nokia 3310 would have broken the block, drilled into the earth and made it's way to the center of the earth
Some say it's still falling through the earth's crust..
+Sean Leal some say that it gained so much speed that it keeps falling even after it fell out of the universe.Earth-like comeback, experts say
+Alex Rotaru yes I have read this somewhere
There is a prophecy which states that one day a storm of 3310's which have been dropped will re-enter the universe one day, and destroy the very fabric of space and time.
Bram Heesen NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The definition of insanity is doing something over and over expecting different results -> 50 drops
Nope, that would be determination or persistance.
Dragos Lucian its a quote off of someone else
Danny Rice that makes sense.
^^^ THIS
Determination to be insane.
a comparison vs the s6 active makes so much more sense
No, if you want buy a s7 you want to know whether to pick the Edge or the Active and you want to know how much more durable the Active is
thetobo101 u can guess it through watching the s7 drop test on an other video, which Phonebuff does have, while comparing it with the s7 active in a battle vs, the s6 active, makes sense right?
There is only one phone that can beat the S7 Active, the Nokia 3310.
Moto X Force (Droid Turbo 2)
Moto Z Force
Both completely shatterproof
yeah with that BS plastic screen
Better than a screen that can be shattered
Aleksandr Orlov English Plz😜
wow S7 active this insane..so durability..good job samsung
Yea I would trade that ugly design for some durability, grip ability, anti fingerprint and larger battery. Too bad it's exclusive on AT&T 😡 and it cost a lil more than the S7
+Michael Anthony de Jun too bad that it's exclusive for US
Tony Lamosa everything's bigger in America
Just be aware that the screen is made of plastic and not glass, meaning that everything and anything including dust will scratch it.
Lord Grief Mc. Scumbag really? is it the same material like the droid turbo 2??
The s7 active is the best phone ever made so far. The huge battery plus s7 specs makes it a winner but Samsung went extra and built it like a tank.
you get what you pay for you know. that phone is still pretty slim and small compared to what was used years before
if weren't an at&t exclusive, i would buy it here in australia
+One Chance China just buy it and get it unlock see just that easy
Phillip Pugh yeah but once you go through all the hassle its easily $1400+ aud...
actually to get an S7 Active is so easy. just buy an S7 with a extra battery case then put it a tempered glass. it could be as strong as S7 Active. with more beauty actually.
Galaxy S7 Active Vs. Droid Turbo 2 please.
+1
That's the best idea I've heard for months!!! +100
+2
Now that would be dope
Another 1000 times of dropping, trust me.
as shown in JerryRigEverything's video, it has a plastic screen which obviously is extremely unlikely to shatter. however, it is really prone to scratching, while a gorilla glass 4 glass screen will shatter but is more resistant to scratches
S7 Active vs Droid Turbo 2
that would be so dope
turbo 2 > active, try dropping the active on a sharp rock and it's done for
"You're ruining our block samsung" hahahaha
The biggest problems with S7 Active that nobody is talking about:
1. You CANNOT do mobile Hotspot tethering. AT&T won't let you.
2. Bootloader is locked. You can't root or make any software changes.
3. Comes with TONS of AT&T bloatware that keeps on interfering with normal usage. And no, it cannot be disabled either.
I mean... this test is basically testing if your case can actually be a case..
Unfortunately the only people who can benefit from this durable device are AT&T customers here in the USA
just wait for AT&T unlocked s7 actives to hit ebay within the next 6 months
+Eryche Bandy won't do me any good on Sprint tho😞
SpaceG95 well that sucks
+Eryche Bandy hopefully by the next series Samsung will make a rugged variant for us lowly masses
+Nashonn unlimited data
Regular S7 :
Waterproof but 1 drop = dead
the best channel on youtube!!!
You should have put the nokia 3310 there with the s7 active
the Nokia would destroy that cement block
Vıəws lol
Yeah, you can test that phone as soon as you can take it away from Chuck Norris.
JustAGuy No, my grandma has got one also
JustAGuy
you guys gotta do some drop tests with rugged cases, id love to see how the active compares against an s7 in a otterbox or something
I love the way the phones bounced on the bottom drop, so satisfying!
I've had both a S5 and S5 active. Currently using the S5 due to breaking the camera on the active, but the active doesn't need a case at all. It's extreamly durable. Stop using the same clip for the s7
Why not? Its saves him money and its the exact same results.
+Nissan U. (SUBW00FER) True
+Nissan U. (SUBW00FER) no didplay cracked by chance
+shalin saini yeah
Do a test of S7 with cases. It would be nice to show the durability of the s7 inside a case
Try the Droid Turbo 2 and compare it with S7 Active, then you'll have a new most durable phone.
Yeah try the Moto Force X
I'm just gonna laugh on this comment...
+Jey Jiménez didn't you see the active not shattering neither. so how is that going to make it the most durable phone?
+Escorpio123PS drops from a couple of feet, that's easy for a "durable" phone. Did you see the video of the DT2 dropped from a drone @ 200+ feet? A little shattered in a corner a continued working normally.

I'd love to see how the regular S7 would look after 50 face drops.
I want to see a 100 foot drop test
Does David reply in fan messages?
+Dimitris K yup!
+PhoneBuff ooo my god!! I love you!!❤️😍
+PhoneBuff I think I'm gonna buy it I still have my s4
+Justin Peters about 30 mins - 1 hour
+PhoneBuff Please get the Oneplus 3 and do a speed test in your style and also reasons why it is best than other flagships
mostly bcz material on active is plastic screen which scratches at level 3. so that will not shatter, but will scratch
Good job Sammy!
So glad I'm upgrading to an s7 active from my s5 active(also still non cracked). My friends don't think the active variants make a difference, this video proves them very wrong lol
I have had a white one since July. no cracks just scratches on the screen. would have been the ultimate phone with removable battery and SD card
Second. Didnt even warch the vod but still hit like
Spelling mistakes aaargh
you know you can edit comments right?
+Henry Phillips not in android/ios

Why do people keep saying that the screen is plastic when all of this phone's specs claim that it's gorilla glass with a poly-carbonite coating?
Smartphone companies often lie about the material in their phones.
its not a lie lmfao, the first layer of the screen is plastic and its fused with the gorilla glass... stop calling a company liars before doing your own research.
Nice one. I would like to see a smackdown with the Kyocera Brigadier.
You should do a corner drop, every time I've ever broken a phone it's because it somehow landed on the corner and spiderwebbed out.
50 drops onto the screen is amazing tough.
Why s7 is the same on all videos of drop test
You should have put a different active device against the s7 active
You know what's better? All Active models tested!
YES! Did you see the comment i left about this? Lol
So basically we are comparing a phone with the same phone with an armor and we even suprised us when he basically survives every drop without scratches... Good one
Honestly, drop tests won't prove how long lasting a device is.. company and community support also factor in which is one of the reasons the 10 is praised as much as it is. I have an S5 Active and have dropped it hundreds of time face down on concrete, it has no cracks. I love the Actives. I just upgraded to to S7 Active.
Good video, nice job on the tests.
But having music in the background was annoying, especially while talking.
Am going for the s7 active soon, thanks much!!
How about a drop test on an uneven surface. Like when you drop in on a stone face down.
I really really love that video so much💕
Nokia: At last a new rival.
Nokia 3310 : I am proud of you son
Subscribed😍
Stop using the same clip for the s7! Is that PhoneBuff style editing trick?
Mine should arrive tomorrow. Test the Blackview BV6000 or the Doogee S60. Interested to see how the Chinesium fares with a real unbiased tester.
The s7 active in my opinion was the greatest phone of its time and way ahead of today's phones
S6 Active vs S7 Active
I love this video. I just bought the actives two days ago and it just reaffirms why I bought it.😋😋
What do you do afterwards with both damage phones?
Give them to the children in Africa
To eat
recycling bin at the AT&T store
droid Turbo 2 would rock your list! I throw mine around at work making peoples jaws drop.
I knew it! S7 Active will sit at the top rank, that's why I requested this test 2 days ago.MIL-STD is really something.
Btw, you must drop it till it stops working. Wonder how many time it will take.
I knew this would happen. I want the S7 active so bad just because of the 4000 mAh and it's durable but damn it Samsung. Why not international?
Considering the S7 Active is simply a phone with a built-in case, this was exepcted.
But... how does an S7 with a good case fare in this test? I'd much rather be able to replace/swap cases then to have a permanent case be scuffed and damaged forever.
S7 Active have more than that. The screen is shatterproof and the dust and water resistant is far higher than regular S7. After dozens of drops, I still have my S5 active and it refuses to die
Right, but we have cases that provide those benefits - and we can change them as they get damaged. You can't do that with the S7 Active.
actually no, cases doesnt efficiently help. Tempered glass wont either (not shatter proof and the fact that s7 is shattered). This device is not for you, not for those who like stylishly accessorized their phones; it's for active, outdoorsy type.

The active's battery is 1000mah larger that the regular S7. And nobody (except iPhone 6s users) uses battery cases regularly.
1:43 Rip Samsung galaxy s7 - he died during a drop test by PhoneBuff.
I'm glad I watched this video. I'm a very clumsy person with butterfingers, so I've dropped many phones in the past. I'm surprised my iPhone hadn't just given up on me!
1:56 Had that happened on my regular S7 TWICE. Its now on its 3rd screen
just buy an s7 with a case
savage
Nah just don't buy a Samsung.
+Awsomeman123321 well what would you buy then? the Galaxy s7 is the best phone on the market.
Max Moore Galaxy is the shittiest high end phone on the market.
The active has 1000 mah more battery. It's not just a phone with a bulky case
Not gonna lie that bonus round was idiotic. That phone's glass will never break when dropped on a flat surface. There is a lip on the phone that isn't there with a normal phone that stops the glass from directly impacting the ground.
theres no lip samsung said its shatterproof it wont break.

Tigran Oganesyan - You are correct; the screen actually never touches the concrete. If it did, the surface of the screen is plastic anyways.
Altema22 I can almost guarantee it wouldn't have lasted even half as long as it did without the lip.
That method of testing is pointless for this device. He could easily have just used a case that adds a lip(even the smallest lip imaginable) to any other phone and none of those phones would break when falling face first like that. The case would get destroyed before the phone's front face.

do a drop test against the Droid Turbo 2
God damn. The S7A does not give a single fuck. It's like someone turned a krogan into a phone. I call it ... the phogan.
Thanks a lot for making this video. This is one of the things I was wondering about the S7A, how durable it was. I'm sold.
S7 Active vs Galaxy S2 please!!!
Well, it sucks that it's an AT&T exclusive.
Because I know a lot of people who want the S7A.
you can buy one from at&t and if you pay for it full retail they will give you unlock code for it and you can take it to a different carrier.
why didn't u do it between the s7 active and S6 active?
omg this is what im looking for tq!!!
1:02 lol looks like theyre doing a fusion XD
1:05*
My very first phone was an "Alcatel pixi 3 (4)" when i got my 3th phone i droped it from the 3th floor.
Nothing happened with it
Could you compare a lifeproof iPhone 6/6S with the S7 active? A lot of tradespeople use just a regular iPhone with a lifeproof case.
why have you been using the same video of the samsung s7?
is the xcover 3 even better as the active?
How did the optical camera stabilisation and other loose parts fare?
Can you do an s8 active test please
for me... it was between the A5 and this galaxy s7 active..
I think this just sold me on this phone... I hear waterproofing is the shits though
honestly if anyone is thinking of buying the s7 active and you live outside of the USA then don't , as software updates are a hassle to get if you aren't in the States (won't come OTA & Smart switch isn't too reliable with over seas ohone) and on top of that At&t are pathetically slow in releasing OS updates . Furthermore you will not have any warrant either if you aren't in the States.
Did Samsung work magic on the glass on the S7 active or did they add a lip to protect the screen?
they said is shatter proof theres a video some where that says what its made of. but samsung said it wont shatter.
The S7 Active has military-grade specs so this is one of the strongest device so far in 2016.
It's plastic and plastic does not shatter
Both! They used a lip so the screen is recessed, and the screen top layer is plastic. Put a flame on it and the screen will melt (see the burn test on JerryRigEverything).
Does glass break? If you drop glass against plastic. I am sure that plastic will be more durable.......
please make the speedtest video of One plus 3.
YEEEEEZSZZSSSSS!!!!!
or you cold use a case on your s7 ?
the s7: *breaks*
s7 active: *gets slightly damaged*
nokia 3310: tis but a scratch
It's interesting but it is very expensive!! What do you think about AGM X1? it is very similar to it but it is a lot cheaper
Hi, please can you do an galaxy s8 vs galaxy s8 active drop test? ...because this one was amazing!!!
Why haven't you tested the S6 active
Why did you not drop it from higher and higher
wow! samsung wasn't playing around 😵
