Hi John & Mandy nice to see you both looking so relaxed. Enjoyed you honest & balanced reflection on your vanlife experience after 6 months, - felt like we just had a chat together. Take care and be safe on your travels
Hi Guys thanks so much for the balanced views on van life. I'm not finished my van but I'm living in it for now and it's the most peaceful clear minded I have felt in a while. If I could give any advice to someone making their own camper van it would be live in it before it's done! I'm seeing what makes sense as I go and I'm really glad I didn't do everything I planned before I tried it out because some of the stuff would not have made sense. I too am realizing how little I need to be happy and that is tremendously liberating. I'm even considering selling up and starting afresh in the states. things have been very difficult in some ways for me recently too, and I have to thank you guys for being quite level and non sensationalist, if that makes any sense, in how you present your lives. It's actually helping me make good decisions about what I'm doing with my own life. So here's to respect, healthy relationships and living the way that makes you feel happy! C
@@milcotto4153 hi there and thanks for the question! I got a bit stumped actually when I read it first because I was trying to remember what I didn't build! I think, surprisingly enough that storage is one thing, or type of storage anyway. So it seems far more practical to have shelves with a lip to prevent things falling off during transit than a cupboard with a hinged door. A door needs space to open and can make access difficult. My van is a low roof lwb primastar so space is very valuable and having things for cooking etc to hand can be easier than having a door to open every time. It just works for me right now and that could change too! I was going to custom build a cooler box too to suit the size of my kitchen using wall insulation and plywood etc but when I just needed to go I ended up spending about 100e on a high quality outdoor cooler that I can wash easily and it stores really well in the space I had allocated for the fridge. Who knows my own creation might have worked fine but the one I have is robust, keeps things cool for about two days with a couple of ice blocks and I can easily remove it to clean it. I think easy access to clean and temporarily remove components to clean them outside the van suits me really well. I had various plans for my bed design and I ended up with a jigsaw type bed that ends up as a couch. I'm delighted with it and I can't really remember the other plans I had but you can see a time lapse of the bed design on my channel if you want. I started out with the idea of sealing everything up so I'd have a sort of airtight space with storage that wouldn't get damp etc but as I watched more videos and continued my build I've actually left gaps everywhere pretty much to to let the air circulate and it keeps my bedding and my cloths fresh. That's a long winded response Annie sorry if it's a bit tedious!!! If you'd like any more details or a video on a specific part of my build, please give me a shout! Best C
Happy birthday John! Mine is on the 26th and I want a flipping big cake. Lol. So glad you are thriving living in the van. So happy for you both. Cooper is adorable. Such a sweetheart. Have a great week🎉🎂🍾💕🇨🇦
John, we have acquired a van but not yet had the chance to use it. We chose it due to the layout being the same as a caravan we had and loved some 12 years ago. I have since added a solar panel and refillable gas bottle. My only concern is space for equipment. It does not have a garage. It has a the space under the French bed. It is a 2010 Autocruise Startrail.
Hi John & Mandy glad you are both enjoying your van life, sounds like you have a lot to look forward to with many planned trips abroad. We very much enjoy watching your videos both tech, Mandy’s cooking tips and day to day van life. Have a lovely 50th Birthday John. We miss using our MH looking forward to using it later in the year. Keep safe and well, Best wishes Carol & Steve
hi john and Mandy, another great one pan meal to try, lovely. john you have same birthday as my partner and brother, happy birthday. I see it as vanlife has positive and negatives, how many people who live in houses argue with their neighbours all the time. You have the ability to move instantly. take it easy, stay safe.

Only found your channel a few days ago and loving it. We converted our own van that we bought last September and used at every opportunity until March 22nd and lockdown. So although we're not full timers we're back to using our van for day trips and your positive vibes are wonderful to watch and keep us keen to overnight as soon as we can. Also loving the one pot recipe ideas. We're veggies so can easily substitue the meat for other things. Keep them coming and keep well. xx
Hi - loving you videos - super quick one, I too am a Burstner owner - looking forward to your tips on removing the scratches on the side decals - had a few close brushes with trees in the past - stay safe

I definitely need to try Mandy's one pot meal, not too sure about the garlic bread getting soggy, but I will try anything. Keep safe. Guy.
i just started this campervan life last year, i go paragliding and save money staying in the van over night. im not the relaxed type so i do as many things as possible through the day to exhaust myself. my camper is a transit mk6 and does everything i need it to with mppt solar. i am considering more minimalist living. it does get some bad press as people give you a weird look when you touch on the subject as they only understand houses and not looking outside the box. once more , my insurance company (advance) claimed 20% more customers from last year so statistically everyone is getting on this life. i am new to your channel and recently subscribed. im loving your flippin videos x
Hi Mandy & John, I do follow your channel on a daily basis and I'm so sorry for you guys how the UK is treating you and camperars. As my wife and our youngest daughter are working from home and being lucky enough to have a camper, I've been working from our camper from Corona crisis day 1. With the Dutch "Intelligent lockdown" I have been free to travel around and with me a lot of other camperars. No negative comments from local people, a lot of praise for supporting local merchants and really for me the most productive time ever! OK, no boundocking, just staying on camper sites and campsites. Actually I stayed for a week on Camping Zeeburg in Amsterdam, which is normally the most visited place in Amsterdam. Only 9 campers......... What a luxury. As I'm working from the camper for the last 9 weeks now, this is my new "normal". I like it and our 2 dogs love it! Keep up the good work and energy! Cheers.

Hello John & Mandy, not sure if you get to read this. We are waiting for our very first Van to be fixed and once things are a little better for travelling we intend to follow in your foot steps! As Mandy is such a Van-Cook (ha ha), I myself love cooking and baking, was wondering if she would like a recipe for breakfast muffins, and would love to know if it's easy to make in a Van? You can use a microwave or oven (not sure you got a muffin tray?), and they're nutritious, healthy and yummmy! Let me know by commenting on this, I suppose! Bye now, Anousjka from Hemel Hempstead.
Happy B'day J for tomorrow.🎂🎂. I've got a pack of chicken & bacon tortellini doing nothing in the fridge!! so I'm off to Aldi for the sauce right now! Thanks for recipe Mandy and the 'how to'. Good luck for your travels outside lockdown.💏👌👌👍👍🧀🧀🎂

Love Mandy's cooking, can we have a playlist made of all the vids she cooks in please? When we move into van we shall be trying these dishy dishes! 😁😁👍
It’s on my list of things to do, well to see if I can create a playlist with videos playing at certain times, so the cooking starts as you watch the playlist 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed the relaxed chat and reflection. I am really pleased you maintained being positive throughout. I also admire you let a massive 4 bed detach house what you worked up throughout your life. " I have seen a quite recently which reminded me of you two. The quote was " What you own starts to own you"....well that is absolutely true. I am actually sat in a 4 Bed Detached house rattling in it on my own. But as much as I want to do it, and I am older, you absolutely needs some moral courage just to let your life work and security just disappear. :) but your youtube blogs is more and more pushing me to jump. Thanks again
Sometimes the very thing that’s stopping you is also what will free you. Your mind can play out all scenarios, but none of them are true, you’d be better places than us to plan your future, but is there any way, by mitigating some of the risks, that you could see if this would work for you? Take care.
Wow that was a great video thanks, John you are one day older than our eldest son he is a gadget man as well he does no end of work on our caravan for us. Enjoy your 🎁
HBTY, HBTY John, HBTY. The two of you look so relaxed, brilliant. Mind you poor Cooper didn't seem very relaxed with that horrible buzzy trimmer thing going! He did perk up afterwards though. Keep up the great videos. Stay well, stay safe CharlieG
I think you have done great through this Covid situation just a shame people just don't understand that this is your home, great videos throughout this pandemic with very little content. The best of luck on your future travels where ever you go.
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Langston Felix I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for the vlog guys. I think you've both done really well adapting to full time considering 5 mins in we had a global pandemic. It's nice to see you both content with the lifestyle balance you have now and happy to live small, with space & "stuff", but live large with experiences. Thanks again for the vlog, it felt like sitting round having a chat with mates. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙 P.S. my Springer 🐶 is 13 now and is still a wiggly bundle of energy, she just needs more power naps 🐾.
Happy birthday bud, you guys are an inspiration and glad to see you with so much joy after difficult months. We are almost out of it fingers crossed . Picked up my new kontiki sport in March and it's got 20 miles on the clock... carnt wait for Wales to allow us to travel. Would be great to catch up with you and the gang in the near future 👍
Great video as always, good to see you both relaxed, happy and safe. A quick question on your Tyres and wheels. What did you change from and too and costs. I have a similar Moho Burstner Lyseo T700 7m length 2017 model and am thinking about all terrain for year round use. Any tips appreciated. Regards Alex.
I purchased them from Elite wheels in Reading, feel free to contact them to see if they’ll supply anything to fit your van. I’ve made a few videos about our van wheels & tyres, they’re on our channel if you want to watch them.
Its amazed me how many people did rent during lock out i hope it worked for them it wouldn't have worked for me.. People did what they thought was best and if anyone stayed in there vans good for them and if anyone could afford the rent i have no problem with that. Just glad we all made it.

Take care.
You look so relaxed. Great to see. Looking forward to getting away in July.
I’m so happy you “flipping love your life”. That is all that matters.
Happy Birthday John

The two of you look so relaxed, brilliant. Mind you poor Cooper didn't seem very relaxed with that horrible buzzy trimmer thing going! He did perk up afterwards though. Keep up the great videos.
Stay well, stay safe

Thanks for the vlog guys. I think you've both done really well adapting to full time considering 5 mins in we had a global pandemic. It's nice to see you both content with the lifestyle balance you have now and happy to live small, with space & "stuff", but live large with experiences. Thanks again for the vlog, it felt like sitting round having a chat with mates. ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙
P.S. my Springer 🐶 is 13 now and is still a wiggly bundle of energy, she just needs more power naps 🐾.
Great lifestyle choices. Once the UK lockdown is eased freedom will return to us all with vans. Take care 🚐😀 Trev

Happy birthday John, it’s my wife’s birthday to same date ! Hope to see you at one of the meets again as our van is almost finished now
Great video as always, good to see you both relaxed, happy and safe.
The worx pop bottle attachment is handy for when you are out and about. Use pop not water bottle, stronger. Happy birthday

Its amazed me how many people did rent during lock out i hope it worked for them it wouldn't have worked for me.. People did what they thought was best and if anyone stayed in there vans good for them and if anyone could afford the rent i have no problem with that.
Just glad we all made it.
Too right, do what you have to do to get through it. 👍🏼😎
