Deep below in the darkest recesses of the Plaguelands is a forgotten vault of untold mysteries. For centuries it remained untouched; a forgotten relic of an age long past. But now, after the fall of the Taken King, something... or someone... ~consume enhance replicate~ ... has claimed dominance over it. Rooting itself deep within the soil of the Cosmodrome, a once disgraced Eliksni Splicer Priest has begun its dark pilgrimage unto godhood. For in the end, why worship a machine god when you can become one? ~consume enhance replicate~ This was the modus operandi of the once-hated criminal known as Aksis. It was he who discovered the nano-plague, SIVA and it was he who led the Splicer's crusade against the people of the Last City and their Guardians. Yet Aksis' mind was not his own. Rather, its mind was becoming something greater; something new. No longer the god in the machine ~consume enhance replicate~ , but a machine in the god. Take heed, Guardians. This whole end of the raid is so much like Aliens and the Queen...you descend into a dark pit, she's hooked up to hundreds of cords and cables, so she can produce the eggs. He's down there growing stronger and ordering the Splicers of what to do next.
Ian Knight What's interesting is that he may not be in complete control of SIVA. In the Grimoire, it states that Aksis, in his own words is saying, "Sometimes I do things without thinking about them, like something else is pulling the strings" This shows that maybe Aksis isn't actually controlling SIVA, but either SIVA is controlling him, or something else entirely
I'll admit it... This is my favorite raid boss. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I just feel that this one was the most climactic and challenging boss battles in Destiny. The entire team needed to be alive and alert at all times and the music is classic Bungie levels of awesome and really gets me pumped every time I hear it. Plus those last 10 seconds or so where he's at 2% health and everyone's firing everything they have at Aksis, not even wasting the time to reload as your team guns him down is just amazing. Aksis is an awesome battle. Challenging but leaves me feeling accomplished every time I manage to bring him down with my team.

The music is particularly prominent in this raid. In Atheon you were to focused to pay attention to the music and in crota it was only when you were about to split his colon in half with a sword that the music really built up, oryx (When the challenge mode was on) It was a shouting fest until it was over, the best part is when everyone retreats after damage phase to the pillars and the epic build up happens when he decides to blow up everything. TLDR; It's an amazing sound track that makes most Guardians moist.
Zach South This music really makes you think this impossible task may just be possible, its really motivating, especially with the SIVA Density Critical part
By far, my favourite OST in gaming. I genuinely get emotional sometimes at 2:13 as my mind goes back to when i was a kid and life was simpler, smashing the shit out of Askis with a sword was as good as it got.
@@emPtysp4ce they'll probably bring them back in order, which means (if they all are brought back) probably about 2 or 3 years until Wrath. But they'd have to bring back SIVA enemies for that

(Went flawless at least one time every week, Until the lauch of Rise of Iron) Got felwinter's lie, thorn, Hawkmoon, Gjally, Pocket infinity, Suros, Last word, and Red death before the nerfs) Taken King launched. Grinded, and grinded untill the raid launched. Beat the raid with Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. Did Trials, going flawless at least one time per week. Heroic raid launched. Beat it with all three. About 30 times total. (April update) SRL launched. Beat the record book. Aimed to get Longbow Synthesis. Got it. Took a break from Destiny. After 2-3 month break, did the new prison of elders. Stopped doing Trials once a week. Got Outbreak Prime First week. Completed countless strikes, nightfalls, crucible matches. SRL launched. Completed all books, for Rise of Iron, and SRL. 2-4 month break from Destiny. Destiny 2 trailers launch. Pre orders Destiny 2. Closed beta launches on the 18th. Plays until the 20th. Destiny 2 launches. Waits in a queue because Bungo. Gets in. Another queue. Damnit Bungo. 1 hour later of UA-cam later. And about to get up and go to the restroom. My friend in the party J-meck0098 got in. (Sub to him, and watch his streams!) I almost give up and leave. Then I get in. Finished the campaign. Grinded untill raid launched. Didn't finish raid until after Xür left. Went flawless twice. Completed the raid two times. Now? Just finished the raid, and played this music during the third run. And now I'm writing this comment. Over 3000+ hours in Destiny 1
I knew about the game since dark below since my uncle was playing it, and I wanted the game, but didn’t ask. I ended up getting the taken king bundle that Christmas but I wish I was an og
Honestly no words can truly explain the majesty and intensity of this theme. It works so beautifully with the actual fight. If you do this raid enough, specifically this encounter you can pick up exactly which part was happening at each point cause the entire fight is on a timer. You can feel the empowerment of being super charged with light too the point of boiling out of you. This is you, your guardian at the most powerful they've ever been, even in Destiny 2 we haven't been past this point yet. And then using that light too rip the corrupted SIVA out of aksis too stun him long enough to you too damage. And I also love that they didn't have any axe mechanics because this i any about the iron lords this is about you and your journey. You start the game out by killing the Devil Archon, how fitting is it that you end the game by defeating the most powerful Fallen too ever live.
Funfact: Besides oryx, there is no other living being that hates the guardian(you) more than Aksis. This fallen lost all of his commanders *Riksis(the first Archon you killed) Iksis(a field captain who was leading the fallen) and Sepics(the first giant servitor you meet)* because of you, seeked siva because of you and became perfection because of you. If there is anyone who van rival oryx and Skolas for having a grudge against the guardian, you better believe its aksis...
The original "Eyes Up" was done solely for the soundtrack release, so of course what we hear in-game is different. Also, most of the bits of music in Aksis's fight are randomized after throwing bombs on him for the first time.
I've noticed that the entire segment from 0:00-1:46 is invariable (with 0:54 being the first time you receive empowerment) according to every other channel's playthrough of the fight, and from then on breaks down to whether you have forced Aksis into teleporting, or are stalling until he himself starts emitting SIVA critical, in which case 2:25-3:25 (SIVA density critical motif) overrides every other theme, even when you clutched the bomb throwing phase and are on your way to stun and damage him. I've also observed that the SIVA density motif can sometimes fail to trigger if your team happens to DPS Aksis faster than the theme can keep up with. Rise of Iron's main motif can only start blaring during the stunning phase, so that's pretty much the fight's musical pattern.
Witht he exception of Vault of Glass being reprised...this theme is so iconic that it was adopted as the iron banner theme for Destiny 2, this is why I vote Aksis as THE best raid boss music in both D1 and D2.
This raid will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first raid I ever completed. I screamed so loud when aksis died that my throat started hurting afterwards it was great.
I can finally say, after years of not being about to do this raid, 5 amazing people helped me and got me my first clear, it was a blast, and these were 5 of the finest guardians I’ve ever met. We got through the raid in about 2 hours, and the music only made the raid 10x better, and I now understand why people want this in D2, I pray we get it in Final Shape
They knew this music was great, hence why it feels louder than any sound in the game. 4:56 this part just makes you feel like youre screwed, even if youre fine
Coming back and reading the comments listening to this, I'm so nostalgic I'm crying. I miss my old team, I miss playing Destiny. It just isn't the same anymore. Played some Archon's Forge again today, just for the heck of it, and I just wish I had some people to do WotM with me. What I wouldn't do to fight Aksis again.
Ian Knight but still an archon aksis is more powerful than skolas but the only thing that skolas has better than aksis is that he ascended into Kell and that is a great thing.. size of body'cleverness' more control over the banner and even got a archon. House of devils is weak that's why aksis couldn't be a kell even in the final battle you fight only shanks.. remember the army that skolas have in the final battle?
technically the House of Devils is the biggest threat to the last city and Cosmodrome...they are the only house that actively moves closer and closer to the city, and ignores the boundaries of the wall. House of Kings is not really active, more strategists that would let the Devils take the lead. And if I may just speculate for a moment..i believe Skolas wanted House of Devils more than any other house because they are the biggest fighters. They sent the Silent Fang after them specifically.
2:26-2:55 gets me so emotional because of all the friendships one formed raiding and if bungie can do that through music alone that makes destiny one of the nest games ever made hands down
LegoTS Productions The best feeling is when your group DPS is kinda' meh and Aksis has shit loads of health by the final rotation. But then everyone finally pulls themselves together and clutches the crap out of him with perfect timing and consistent crits for the kill. That was my first challenge mode Aksis kill, and it was the most glorious moment in the game.
Imagine, this song plays in the background in the raid in Destiny 2, 24 hour mode activated, there are 2 minutes left to finish, Aksis is about to die, you barely have special and heavy ammunition left, you have no revives left, it is the phase of damage and only you are left standing, your teammates trust you. Come on Guardian it's your time to shine, kill Aksis and put an end to this once and for all.
Knight Valfdor thank you so much for making this because eyes up isn't the same as this and I personally love this version a lot better and also those pictures of axsis are the best I've seen normally if you look up axsis there are never any good pictures but these ones are masterpieces
@@abdoul5176 I really recommend that you try out New Light the moment it comes out. It gives you access to all D2Y1 content, and, well, it's free, and if you like it, you can buy the expansions and it shouldn't be too hard for you to catch up on the most relevant content, especially after Shadowkeep potentially renders some currently must-have items less useful in favour of the new items.
@@commentingchannel9776 Thanks for the suggestion. New Light sounds great but playing any game atm isn't possible for me right now, life doesn't allow it.
The real tragedy was Saladin facing Aksis in the trailer but then never having any interaction between them in game or mention of it. Now that bungie has finally started putting important characters in missions to fight with us, I hope we get to fight alongside Saladin in the reprised raid.
7:44 Wo oh wo oh wooo, caught in a bad romance! My raid team used to sign along with this part when damage phase ended and you needed to debuff on the back platforms.
6:15 now that I look at aksis I realize he is almost 100 percent machine aside from what lies behind his helmet/mask. And as a side note, if someone else took control of siva during his time they could just tear him apart in seconds.

someone has to agree with me when I say my favorite raids are all the fallen ones. they just have a different feel to them altogether, and they’re always more fun
Listening to that absolute last minute always hits soo hard. To me it just reminds me that although rn in both the game and in life we are facing by far our greatest challenges we are reminded that through it all we are never alone and the ones we love and love us back be it friends and family are always behind us when we push back our own darkness and once victory is achieved and we keep our eyes up, we know that there are many more to come but we’ll be stronger than before to meet them
I can remember far back enough exactly what happened the night I'd completed my first Destiny raid. I'd watched Guardians sprawl the Tower with King's Fall gear, and I had yet to even touch a raid in year 2. But in year 3, this would be my first completion ... You couldn't pay me to forget or to have screamed quieter.
Just imagine this, you've used the 4 pillars, and it's your last chance to kill Aksis, you've got low DPS, and no more heavy.. All you can do is relax, listen to the flow, and.. Shoot EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ON HIM, SUPER ! CANON ! SNIPER ! EVERYTHING !!!
Wrath of the machine was undeniably my favorite raid in destiny history. I have a group of 7 or 8 friends and when we played this raid it was among the best experiences I had in destiny. Sure it was difficult at first but once we advanced in power level and learned the mechanics it was so much fun to run through. Also had some of my favorite weapons in destiny's history only second to vaults weapons.
For Aksis, this is his final stand and meeting the ones who killed Sepiks (twice) and his followers. It was the most important day of his life. For us...it's every Tuesday.

Zulmak?! I thought we killed you in the pit
the scream is the best part before the music starts
-The "Machine" God
Aksis, The Archon Prime.
Zach South This music really makes you think this impossible task may just be possible, its really motivating, especially with the SIVA Density Critical part
this theme, Regicide, Forged in Flame, and Iron Tomb are my absolute favourite
Oryx, The Taken King you said it yourself
Well, Last Stand is also good
Oh wait you regained the favor of the Darkness, time to fight the Shade again
2:35 Official Wipe Theme for Destiny.
please rise for our national anthem.
2:40 brings back so many memories. Feels like it was just yesterday. The raids in D2 don't hit the same :(
Bro fr
Fr best part, hopefully they bring this raid back in D2 Next
By far, my favourite OST in gaming. I genuinely get emotional sometimes at 2:13 as my mind goes back to when i was a kid and life was simpler, smashing the shit out of Askis with a sword was as good as it got.
In gaming is a stretch listen to the metal gear rising revengeance ost
@@ciguret not saying its the best in gaming, but out of everything ive played this is my favourite
couldn't agree more, these were the best days. I genuinely cant described how this OST makes me feel...
I miss Siva so much. Deep Stone Crypt is the funnest raid I've done in a while but I hope to God that Bungie brings back the old raids
They're bringing back Vault, hopefully they bring back the rest so the people who joined in D2 can learn the pain of empowered right missing the dunk.
@@emPtysp4ce they'll probably bring them back in order, which means (if they all are brought back) probably about 2 or 3 years until Wrath. But they'd have to bring back SIVA enemies for that
Vault of glass is a whole other ballpark now. As far as I'm concerned without glitches it is the most difficult raid in d2 right now.
@@beyondthehiddenbth5764 if I was able to do it, it's not that difficult
@@beyondthehiddenbth5764 vow of the disciple 😳
2:26 What my night monster hears when it makes a little too much noise to wake me up
D2 players noobs: *plays iron banner* cool mode
Me: *plays iron banner and hears the aksis theme* OMFG ITS THE AKSIS RAID THEME SONG YES HOLY SHIT MAN
D2 noob player: uhhhhhh what?

Facts.
God time sure flys by now doesn’t it?
That's the only reason I play iron banner in D2 🤣
I made a point of watching D1 content so I would notice stuff like this. I don't have a console, so its the closest thing I have.
God damn do I love this theme.
I wish WotM was in D2
Listening to this and knowing nothing in D2 will come close ever again, especially after Bungie just fired Michael Salvatori lmfao.
Siva = when you put your headphones in your pocket and pull them out and theyre all tangled and shit
Love how Aksis has a metal halo behind his head when he's connected, lets you know you're basically fighting a machine god.
Giantdad Lives I think it's SIVA connecting into Aksis' Neural Network, since I kinda doubt he has what is considered a brain for Eliksni.
Kinda, he doesn't have a living brain but he does have his consciousness in the metal body of his
Just beat the Leviathan for the third time. I got emotional again, thinking. "Wow, I'm playing destiny 2, It's been 4 years?" (I played the alpha, closed beta, (Year 1) Vanilla Destiny. The Dark below (Soloed it with self res) House of wolves. I almost give up and leave.
SnowPilot Moto I would have to be impressed
I knew about the game since dark below since my uncle was playing it, and I wanted the game, but didn’t ask. I ended up getting the taken king bundle that Christmas but I wish I was an og
Jo Jo it was the golden age of the game year😭
A fellow OG Gaurdian. Keep this game alive
How is it now :)
Yes I'm a warlock main
Funfact: Besides oryx, there is no other living being that hates the guardian(you) more than Aksis. This fallen lost all of his commanders *Riksis(the first Archon you killed) Iksis(a field captain who was leading the fallen) and Sepics(the first giant servitor you meet)* because of you, seeked siva because of you and became perfection because of you. If there is anyone who van rival oryx and Skolas for having a grudge against the guardian, you better believe its aksis...
See, this is the one that's in the raid. Even the original was incorrect or my Headphones were too good.
The original "Eyes Up" was done solely for the soundtrack release, so of course what we hear in-game is different. Also, most of the bits of music in Aksis's fight are randomized after throwing bombs on him for the first time.
It actually repeats after each SIVA Density Critical without the intro. And the begins to loop the song until either you beat him or wipe.
Now this is the song I'm talking about
***** Shut up, the piece up is perfect, don't ruin it. ;u;
That’s crazy
Thanks for putting my theme together :P
Aksis Archon Prime Lol
Aksis Archon Prime i hate your boss fight.

Master g4m3r Mr obvious pointing out the obvious
I can finally say, after years of not being about to do this raid, 5 amazing people helped me and got me my first clear, it was a blast, and these were 5 of the finest guardians I’ve ever met. We got through the raid in about 2 hours, and the music only made the raid 10x better, and I now understand why people want this in D2, I pray we get it in Final Shape
Me and my raid group didnt call this raid "wrath of the machine" we named it "Aksis denied"
They knew this music was great, hence why it feels louder than any sound in the game. 4:56 this part just makes you feel like youre screwed, even if youre fine
I am hoping and PRAYING this raid is next to come out of the vault for D2.
"Wrath of the Machine" Raid:
"Aksis, Archon Prime"

Coming back and reading the comments listening to this, I'm so nostalgic I'm crying. I miss my old team, I miss playing Destiny. It just isn't the same anymore. Played some Archon's Forge again today, just for the heck of it, and I just wish I had some people to do WotM with me. What I wouldn't do to fight Aksis again.
4:18 Aksis's barrier breaks from your fireteams coordination and he begins teleporting to stabalize himself in order to kill your fireteam
Listening to this song reminds me so much about how much effort I put into this game.
We're all Legends
i can't believe this game is over :,(
Unstood • already miss this raid man... I think it might be my favourite ever
GenericUA-camNameHD i've legit gotten so bored of D2 that i play this during the week and trials on the weekends
Unstood • if you're on PS4 I'll happily play with you, miss this game too much :/
Sad niggas out here
2020 and still listening to this
PERFECT SONG
Randall Cattermole for one who seek perfection yet not a Kell..
he had surpassed Kell of Kells...Skolas can suck it, Aksis ascended into the heavens.
Saito Road don't forget vosik has an army too you know
technically the House of Devils is the biggest threat to the last city and Cosmodrome...they are the only house that actively moves closer and closer to the city, and ignores the boundaries of the wall. House of Kings is not really active, more strategists that would let the Devils take the lead. And if I may just speculate for a moment..i believe Skolas wanted House of Devils more than any other house because they are the biggest fighters. They sent the Silent Fang after them specifically.
what a time to be a destiny fan. good times.
2:26-2:55 gets me so emotional because of all the friendships one formed raiding and if bungie can do that through music alone that makes destiny one of the nest games ever made hands down
GET THE BOMMMMB!!!!! WIPE WIPE OMG WIPE CRAPPY DAMAGE
LegoTS Productions happened yesterday for me cus one of our group left midway thorugh aksis and had a cannon and was also empowered.
LegoTS Productions
Dr.potato ?
i mean if its challenge mode yes that would be a reset
LegoTS Productions
The best feeling is when your group DPS is kinda' meh and Aksis has shit loads of health by the final rotation.
But then everyone finally pulls themselves together and clutches the crap out of him with perfect timing and consistent crits for the kill.
That was my first challenge mode Aksis kill, and it was the most glorious moment in the game.
"Sha drass dress". -Aksis
Sadly, it’s basically been confirmed Crota is returning… This would still be cool, though.
I know but Crota's End is a good raid too but It hasn't a soundtrack like this, Im waiting for the Wrath of Machines return to Destiny 2.
@@n1xh3 True
*Uses tether on loads of shanks coming down where they spawn during akis's phase* Orbs anyone? :D
Knight Valfdor thank you so much for making this because eyes up isn't the same as this and I personally love this version a lot better and also those pictures of axsis are the best I've seen normally if you look up axsis there are never any good pictures but these ones are masterpieces
Never played Destiny 1. But I'm so glad I found this. Man this would've been sick to play through in D1
Lol I feel you haven't touched a single Destiny game yet but I'm obsessed with the universe and lore I'll probably start with D3.
Those were the good ol days, I’ll tell you what
I love 6:09 it makes me feel like everything that i done was building up to this point
The real tragedy was Saladin facing Aksis in the trailer but then never having any interaction between them in game or mention of it. Now that bungie has finally started putting important characters in missions to fight with us, I hope we get to fight alongside Saladin in the reprised raid.
2:27 When the kid who is empowered misses Aksis
William Bridges 2:27 My Theme when someone fails to kill a Servitor in time.
I love this part 1:59 it’s like “Now is your chance! Make every shot count!”
and then he proceeds to teleport out of the way of about 3 tethers
2:26
Hardest part of the raid..... don't fall off the pillar
29:35-30:00 is a beautiful way to bring the heart rate down and sink into your chair after spending 2~4 hours on the raid
It miss me so much :( I want to cry when I remember me doing this raid with friend
7:44 Wo oh wo oh wooo, caught in a bad romance! My raid team used to sign along with this part when damage phase ended and you needed to debuff on the back platforms.
Honestly, This might be the best Destiny theme ever.
Ethan Kuhn yup it is it’s basically you at your strongest fighting thanos whiles he is at his strongest
Aksis was one of my favorite Boss and the theme too he will always be a legend in destiny atheon too
My favorite boss now and forever

"WHY THE FUCK IS NO ONE AT RIGHT?" pretty sure everyone else has heard the same
6:15 now that I look at aksis I realize he is almost 100 percent machine aside from what lies behind his helmet/mask.

To me it just reminds me that although rn in both the game and in life we are facing by far our greatest challenges we are reminded that through it all we are never alone and the ones we love and love us back be it friends and family are always behind us when we push back our own darkness and once victory is achieved and we keep our eyes up, we know that there are many more to come but we’ll be stronger than before to meet them
I can almost hear the percussion of scorch cannons and cluster bombs in certain parts.
I hear his gun and laughs
Here before the inevitable return in D2, best Raidboss music imo
I'm not so sure about this masterpiece returning in D2 anymore
Spider wishes he looked this cool in his chair
I can remember far back enough exactly what happened the night I'd completed my first Destiny raid. I'd watched Guardians sprawl the Tower with King's Fall gear, and I had yet to even touch a raid in year 2. But in year 3, this would be my first completion ... You couldn't pay me to forget or to have screamed quieter.
2:26 Destiny wipe anthem
Just imagine this, you've used the 4 pillars, and it's your last chance to kill Aksis, you've got low DPS, and no more heavy.. All you can do is relax, listen to the flow, and.. Shoot EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ON HIM, SUPER ! CANON ! SNIPER ! EVERYTHING !!!
You make me remember the old days
2:41 is my favorite part idky but everytime I played this raid this was the best part of the boss music
Everybody’s talking about 2:26 I’m here for 2:41 that shits a damn masterpiece
I pretty sure that part is included too it's so good
Wrath of the machine was undeniably my favorite raid in destiny history.
