@@alfredoj9791 Pantheon is supposed to be a BOSS rush, and Verity doesnt have any boss in it, so we're safe from that.
Then again, the Verity encounter is rather easy, just make sure all the guardians have recognizable drip and ghosts equipped.

@HelloAmANoob There was layoffs early november at bungie most of the community team was fired and Michael salvatori as well as the designer of the og halo logo.
2 of the 3 composers who worked on this track are still at Bungie. I'm sad and annoyed that Salvatori was Layed off (not fired), but let's put some respect on the composers who are STILL there.
I do agree it’s a tragedy that Michael Salvatori was fired, but he didn’t write this piece, it was actually composed by Brendon Williams. Salvatori did write the Forsaken theme though, which is used a ton in this piece 😊 I’m still salty about him being fired, even a massive fan of his since the Halo days

I mean, this song, First Disciple, Oneirophobia, Discipline, Eden, are some examples that weren't writen by Salvatori.
Coming back after unlocking the Godslayer title. Riven is such a fun fight.

Last Wish will always be special just because it actually felt like the raid mattered. World's first ending and the Dreaming City being opened filled with secrets, the very first dungeon, a strike and a shit load of content will always be my number one Destiny moment

Definitely helped that the lore of Ahamkara was built upon since Destiny 1. We were always told how dangerous they were but never really understood until we saw the fuckery going on with Riven and the Dreaming City lol
@@turbulencegaming7518 Vaulting Content is just plain Lazy dev work. Probably has a lot to do with costs on the server end. That was the final nail in the coffin for Destiny, to be honest. I always look on and see what "could have been" with Destiny but money got its nasty tendrils into it.
I feel bad for those who have never fought Riven properly to hear the second half of this theme
I took my buddy through Riven legit just so he could hear the full theme during the fight. First time I ever did Last Wish was without cheese and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
Considering the 2nd half plays everywhere in the Dreaming City and the dungeon
They aren't missing much.
I've done the full Riven fight legit, and basically have done everything Dreaming City has to offer. I've never heard phase 2 play in entirety. It starts to play, but it reroutes back to phase 1 track in less than a minute. Never got the chance to hear the absolute badassery that starts at 10:45 in game.
@@Dementhis Yeah the music que can be a little funky since it triggers when Riven's health bar reaches a certain point. If you one-phase her, there's a good chance you don't hear it.
Riven Phase 2 never plays in the Riven fight. You can 3 phase Riven and you still won’t hear it.
The absolute meaning behind this raid is so powerful from Savathun pulling the strings the whole time to avenging Cayde-6 as much as possible and even Uldren in a way because Uldren himself was just a tool of Riven and Savathun.
Not only did we confront Riven who had been built up gradually but we also played straight into a deception. This soundtrack captures everything feeling possible from the epicness to the tragedy of the DLC.
What an absolute masterpiece of story telling told through not only the DLC but the music and visuals themselves.
Absolutely right the lores and the story behind the raid is also so powerfull.
Sucks destiny will never be this good again. Based on the last 3 annual expansions anyway 😢

@@yoshmaik No it wasn't. The only thing that Witch Queen was better than Forsaken on was the campaign. Forsaken eclipses Witch Queen in terms of content. (Bigger raid, a dungeon, 2 locations, new supers, 5 exotic armor pieces per class (Witch Queen had 2), the entirety of gambit, etc...)

As much as I love Rhulk's theme, Riven's theme just can't be beaten for me. Still get chills to this day whenever I listen to this.
The whole encounter just can’t be beaten, Doug. This legit years ago actually felt like you were fighting an already very powerful wish dragon that’s also now amped up with the power of being taken whist having her own will. Everything to the first drop to the eye mechanic and how it was how you stopped the wipe is unreal. The communication it took made it so much harder. Then the first big dps phase felt like to me the first time we have actually faced a true raid boss.
And the lore implications and now with season of the witch the confirmation that riven is bound to us everything from the dreaming city is just otherworldly well made

We need last wish master so we can hear this out again. No champs just the raid we are underpowered and add more hp to riven. Doing it again underpowered would feel great as iv only ever done it once and it was just after the first week or so of the launch.

10:23 might be one of the best moments I've heard in this raid. It makes me feel like there's a lack of time and its a final point of separation. Same thing with the Shell of What Was soundtrack. Just a fight against the clock and its never been better

Back in 2020 I would Shepard this raid and teach folks how to do Riven legit. I don’t play D2 anymore, but those are still some of my favorite memories. This theme always feels so triumphant and warm to me :)
Second phase of this fight is the best work the bungie team have done since reach. Hands DOWN.

@@Vertix07911only done legit once but we done it just a bit after it’s launch. We had dedicated people for eye shooting 2 of us from each team we’re dedicated to it and it worked fairly well only a few of our wipes were to wrong eyes and this was before console had a text chat

As someone who grinded this raid (and still never got the exotic) I can't even begin to convey to you how exhilarating it was to hear the transition because it meant we didn't actually fuck up the first part. This shit wasn't easy

I love how the brass and stuff from 0:45 onwards in the first phase feel so bittersweet. You're taking out a majestic being controlled by the Dark against their will. Although you're impeding it from being a tool for the Dark anymore and mercy killing Riven, you still can't undo all the stuff including what the controlled Uldren Sov did
she was taken but still had free will because she tricked oryx. She wasnt being controlled against her will at all

Still biggest bungie fail is not creating an official publication of this track. Plenty of others too but this one the most.
How outstanding it is. In riven legit, any error of your fireteam not cost you a revive but the all gad damn try, that’s why bungie made this masterpiece soundtrack to keep you in from the beginning to the end. We not talking about VOW, EOW or VOG this raid have a unique lore behind for a unique boss character.
Bungie literally not remove the cheese strat just because they know how difficult this raid was think about it.
This raid and encounter is in its own league and class. It's easily the most difficult and brutal encounter while being the most complex and I am sad Bungie will never go back to that platinum standard. It is so good but brutal that as you said, one wrong move is a wipe instead.
Its literally so easy nowadays even on legit. We are way too overpowered for our own good. Did riven legit a week ago, we got her down to almost dead without even doing her real dps phase (the pimple popping)

Taniks, nezarec, and atheon (technically old raid boss but got added to d2 in bl) are all expected 1 phases, and the mechanics are way too easy, at least riven’s mechanics desperately need your team to coordinate, and sanctified mind’s damage phase is very short
Only somewhat difficult raid bosses are rhulk and riven, and neither take much effort regardless lol

This has to be one of the best raids and soundtracks in the game, the mechs of this fight bro omg so much when you ain’t cheesing it
By far the best. The whole splitting part alone is amazing having to stun her in between attacks bait the arms do mini 3 man dps and have to communicate with the other team in which eyes to shoot then having to do it again during the big dps whist doing the other 2 mechanics along with it then the drop for the real big damage atleast it used to be idk if it is anymore was something else. Even final stand beats any other boss by the fact even after you fully take down her hp bar there’s still more and a whole other encounter after it. I really hope one day they buff Rivens hp again to stop the cheese

Finally got to do legit riven last night and oh my god this feels so much more intense while baiting the talons and dodging flame barrages while fighting ogres as well
Fr man best fight In destiny no question I haven’t ran her legit since just after it came out and I’d honestly love to try it again sometime. See how much easier it is now with how much better weapons builds etc have become because back then it was fun hard intense all at the same time having to use wells to even survive the ogres and having to miss out on a fair bit of Rivens dps to do so. Our main damage was in the first rooms and when we dropped and shot the spores

Tbf riven made it seem like she wanted to escape and be free but in reality she wanted us to kill her so should could grant our wish of killing her twisting it and also granting savathûns
Sometimes I’ll go and find noobs that can’t hope to onephase specifically so they get to hear phase 2 with a real fight.
Truly one of the most memorable OSTs in all of gaming and certainly the apex of Destiny. A beautiful and breathtaking entry into the music halls of gaming and a testament to the sheer power and quality this medium can bring to bare.
Well done, Bungie. Here’s to another decade of incredible soundtracks.

This is my absolute favorite raid boss raid and the music in the game
the music during phase 2 is unbelievably good
we'd never thought we get a raid harder then this, last wish had 2 team clear it day one, one team cleared salvations edge in first 24 hours. last wish has finally be dethroned as the hardest raid

The fact that the second phase of this OST is barely included in the boss fight itself is criminal
Just played this raid for the first time yesterday (shout-out to Fibonacci, best D2 sherpa!) And was completely blown away by the music. We completed the Riven encounter the legit way and the sense of accomplishment from it was awesome. Even though it was really tricky to learn and execute, the music really kept me in it and intensified that feeling of synergy with my fireteam. Just wanted to share that appreciation.

Unfortunately it seems like Bungie is sticking to the 4 encounters, 2 bosses formula to keep things simple and easy to produce; one can hope though
probably not. 3 raids in a row we've followed the 2 encounters, 2 boss fights raid formula. Day one races like Spire of Stars and Last Wish probably wont ever happen again as Bungie wants day one races to be accessible to lower skilled players. I wish something like Last Wish can happen again tho

Every single time i teach legit…
They really need to just buff her hp so you can’t cheese anymore. Legit riven for the one time I done it was an experience 90% of the player base has missed and she’s by far got the best designed boss fight in the game. Especially when I done it we were all just under levelled for riven so things actually hurt and we had to work together to stay alive especially in the big dps area when you meet up. Wells rifts using supers to kill the ogres etc. we even had to remember the eyes in our head as console didn’t even have a text chat back then. Along with the teamwork needed the dps check was also fairly difficult to reach but when we finally beat it felt so rewarding. Also I’m biased as that run which was also my first along with the rest of us I got 1k. Only out of the team so that just made the whole experience that much better
had two ethereal keys and used them both forgot how though, and got 1k on my _second_ chest, of my first last wish completion

This is probably the least known soundtrack in all of Destiny, at least for the 2nd phase portion of it. I mean when was the last time you saw anyone do Riven legit? I certainly haven't done a full turn of Riven since about a month after the raid came out
Does phase 2 even play? I've never done Riven legit but people say phase 2 doesn't even exist in the game and I'm inclined to believe that cause I've never seen video evidence of the encounter with it.
It does play but only when you do dps on the third floor (the floor you stand on plates to start the encounter). Unfortunately, it plays merely secounds as the mechanic forces you to end the dps phase quickly or wipe.
Not even close, though it is probably not very known to the majority. I’d say the least known is the secret track that used to play on Nessus

I've found it sometimes plays during the Vorgeth fight in Shattered Throne, but I've never heard it during Riven ever (and I do it legit probably 80% of the time)
