Rachel was adorable eating the honey from the bottom of the centrifuge, like a kid getting the cookie dough from the bottom of the bowl. Congrats on the new grandbaby! Here's to plenty of warm cuddles and snuggles over winter!
Awe, soooo glad you mentioned your new/ cabin channel I love the cabin videos also!!!! And yes Todd here in Oregon Doug fir grow amazing and everywhere in the PNW 😊
I live in the rain and Douglas fir tree capital of the PNW. These are grown for Christmas trees and lumber here. Having too much water is not a factor in that rain season. While our rainfall is actually very depressing in the winter and feels colder than the dryer cold in Minnesota where my family is from, we do dry out in summer to cracks in our clay soil. We don’t irrigate them in those months and sometimes our trees die in very hot summer weather. We have a lumber crop. It is a very small crop on our 14 acres that we live on. Our home, gardens and outbuildings take up about 2 acres. Pasture for horses and cows is maybe 6+ acres. When the trees die, we drop them and use for firewood. If left, they would dry rot and become widow makers.
Regarding the Douglas fir trees.... they like more acidic, well drained soil, so that may be (or not) a factor for your poor survival results. We plant mostly bare root stock here in the PNW.
Todd. Your doing a great job on your property. So sorry the Queen bee 🐝 did make it. Hope next year things will go well with the honey 🍯 bees🐝. Welcome home Rachel. Hope you had fun with your grandkids. God Bless. HUG'S 🤗. Mari'a. 💙🤗💙🤗💙❤️❤️❤️❤️🐝🐝🐝👍👍👍👍👍🎃🐈⬛👻🍁🍂
Hi Todd, I got the flu as well. I had a cough which usually occurred in the evening and if I sat to rest and as I was sleeping. I went to the Doctor, I was not passing the breathing tests. They ruled out pneumonia, and diagnosed with bronchitis. Be careful and watch for fluid in your lungs. The inhalers worked outstanding and a cough pill. As I recovered I then got Covid from a family member, we keep tests on hand and sure enough. I then did a video call, because the cough came back and I ran out of the blue inhaler you can take as needed or every 4 hours. Sounds crazy. I am one who gets the flu about every 3-5 to five years. I eat healthy etc., but as we age our immune system changes and takes longer to recover. Stay safe and be well.
Weeping Willow should do great in the soggy area! Congratulations on the new grandbaby! I have a phobia of sticky things, I was cringing when you were scraping the wax and honey, lol! I’m really glad other people are willing to raise bees and sell honey!
I've tried so hard to get weeping willow to grow on my property, but I don't think it took. I made sure to put it in a wet area too. The ring is a good idea. I'll put one of those out there, hopefully the deer didn't already kill it
Oh I can tell Todd is feeling a little cruddy in his voice! I'm so glad you're both feeling good enough to post videos and be with your wonderful grand babies though!
That sounds like the perfect spot for the willows. I LOVE weeping willows but I can’t plant one in my yard as it will seek and destroy waterlines because they use so much water. I live in a small lot in the city and I can’t risk harming my or my neighbors water lines.
Cinnamon: I use Saigon cinnamon but any cinnamon will do. Nutmeg: This recipe is written for pre-ground nutmeg. If you use freshly ground, then you’ll need to adjust the quantity by half or even 2/3rds. Fresh nutmeg has a completely different and wonderful flavor but it is stronger. Allspice: Allspice is a powerful spice. She will take over all the other spices if you let her. I always use allspice with a light hand. Here is the pnw, Douglas fir is prolific and we get a significant amount of rain. Lol You just mentioned that you thought Douglas fir grow well in the pnw… We have mild winters and summers so maybe that has something to do with why yours died?
I'm sure you already know this, but YT will have an absolute FIT if you post the same video on more than one channel, even when it's YOUR content!!! (Fit meaning demonetize your channel) I was watching another channel and heard she got in trouble for that!

Toss some of Espoma’s Biotone in your planting holes. It promotes root growth and just might help your trees.
We had a bear come and and clean our extracted super this year! Made a terrible mess!!! Congratulations on little Todd!
Congratulations on the new grandbaby and the namesake! So sweet. I subscribed to the other channel. Thank you.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Pawpaw trees grow near creek lines, so they must like a damp soil. Congratulations on the new grandbaby!
ommgosh wish you had talked about the other channel earlier because I have been missing this content ..I will now need to binge watch it

Do you still use the Flow Hive?
We still have it, but haven't used it the last 2 years.
What did u mean saying u need the honey but u r giving it away?
I thought we had more, enough to give away. But it was small so we'll just keep for ourselves.
