Awesome video. Here in North Alabama we do a draw system for sandhill cranes and I did not get any tags this year. I have heard from several other people that they are the best bird to eat and this confirms it.
We have thousands of them that come every year here. This is only the second year that we have even been able to get tags. I’m hoping that if the seasons go well they will open it up to more birds and more tags. I would love to be able to kill 5 a day
I remember hearing about sandhill crane being the ribeye of the sky and I always thought they just meant it was a really good tasting bird meat... but when I finally had the chance to try some I realized they were not kidding... it literally tastes like steak meat and even has the same texture... it is especially good...
Thank you for the Crane cook. Been hearing good things about them. Tip...don't use those nylon bristles on hot grates, only when cool. Thank you for the vid.
Man I always like your vids. If You ever make it to ontario canada windsor area during the season and I got a field you gotta place to hunt and goose is good lol
Crane is great, but it's not like ribeye. It's not marbled with lots of juice fat. It's lean. It's more like deer. Excellent. No more than medium rare.

Crazy! We're allowed 5 a day here in Sask canada! We are absolutely polluted with them in the fall. Fields packed
