This is the third part of the videos regarding the rule of decomposing the source of inspiration into elements.
To understand more, please see before the following videos:
How to design a clothing line in 2.5 minutes
and
How to design a clothing line inspired by fabric manipulation
For this outfit, once again, I decomposed the elements into beads and rows.First, for the documentary part, i will draw exactly the dress you see in the left part of the screen.
When drawing, there is no need to stay too long on a single sketch. It is ok just to suggest the beads and to give the impression of the pearls aligned on the rows.
Now that you have the components, just play with them.
There are areas where i used the pearls in different sizes and other areas where i used the rows to create the volume.
As you will see, there are endless possibilities and you can take this example to rotate the source of inspiration to obtain different outfits. After so many details in a costume, you will need a blank or empty space to have a contrast or a single color leggings that will lead the eye to the beautiful crafting from the upper part of the body.
For the second dress, i kept the same principle of playing with details and black areas. The size of the pearls can be adjusted from small to large or the other way round. You can gave extra large spheres for the neck part or very small pearls for the lower part of the costume.
And now, just sit back and enjoy the same exercise having different costumes as a starting point for your inspiration.
See you next week and until then, please do not forget to either leave me a comment, a thumbs up or subscribe for more.
Merry Christmas and have a lovely holiday together with your family!

Hello Ioana! I was wondering if you could show us in a video what follows from this part of the process. I'd like to see all of the stages required to go from the inspiration to a "product" ready to make and sell. Maybe you have done something like this previously but I think I've seen all of your videos already.. haha once I start watching them I can't stop. x)
Thank you sooo much! Romy.
hi. Do you consider these outfits impossible to transpose into real clothes? I mean, it is just beads and embroidery or pearl threads. you are interested in seeing how to make the foldings and how to sew this dress? did I understood corectly?
Fashion teaching Sorry my English is awful. I mean what follows after having the sketches, I would like to know if we must do a development board with the illustrations, fabrics, flat sketches and so on. I am a student in Argentina and I wonder how do you do that part of the process. Or if we don't really need to do it and can go directly from the sketches to make the garment. What's best for you? Thanks! ♥

This is just a heads up:
When getting inspiration, u need to make the design original.
There's a difference.
(Disclaimer: JUST A REMINDER! I'm not trying to say that this girl is bad)
This is just a heads up: the first drawing is just for the research part where students are training their hands to actually reproduce the source of inspiration. The other examples are meant to show how to use the same elements and to decompose the source into pieces, how to create a unity in a fashion collection. For sure, the source of inspiration should not be a costume, therefore, the students must search the inspiration from art, nature, science and so on. And for this, please see about 100 videos on my channel. Thank you!
Ioana, are you married? Do you have kids? You don't have to answer if you don't want! :D
+Marc Oliver hi. i am married:) but we don't have kids. and you?:)
