As an SA fan I love this guy. Tough, violent, no nonsense, skilled with ball in hand and a great kicker under pressure! What a player and what a captain - in another universe I'd have loved to have seen him wearing 10 for the boks
As a Frenchman, hardwired to hate his guts, I understand what you are saying and seeing. I myself am surprised I find him a good bloke in interviews etc. Which is why I cannot wrap my head around how much of a d*ickhead he can be on a pitch (and don't give me that: "he's a winner" crap, other winners/legends never had to behave like him) and his atrocious, frankly dangerous tackling technique.
I've said it numerous times before, Owen Farrell can play any type of game that his coaches ask him to, he played a certain way under Eddie Jones because that was what was asked of him and he played a certain way with Saracens in the earlier part of his career however he can open up the game as he has shown on many occasions whilst playing for Saracens and he could with England if that's what they want .
Really sad listening to OF. I don't know why the English fans treated him so badly. It must have been heart-breaking for him. It should be opposition teams getting upset with him.
He absolutely deserves it, and france is going to be a brilliant chapter for him, but damn we'll miss this man in the premiership and in English rugby in general. What a legend
As a Saffa, I have from time to time been pretty annoyed with Owen. However, a few years ago, I read from some of his teammates, both in England and the Lions, how highly they rate him. And that shed some light on the side of him that I had never given him credit for. He is really one of the greats to have played for England. Since the World Cup I have watched with massive disappointment at the grief he has been subject too. Quite disheartening. To see him enjoying his game again is an absolute pleasure. And to get 250 games for Sarries is just bloody epic.
Me and my brother saints fans. We have a convo every other week about how much we love this man. We’re adamant the hate comes from middle aged toffs but might be wrong?
What a legend. So sad not to see him in an England shirt

Really sad to see Owen go but will leave as a legend of this club.
A legend of a Saracens and England captain and a proper bloke.

Good to see him smiling and enjoying his life

World class player. What a shame that England and the prem is losing him

As a non England fan it’s his confrontational and sometimes dirty play style / attitude. He’s like a pantomime villain
Class act
Full respect to a top bloke
What a great player and ambassador for the game. Owen is a true great.
Legend best if luck ,hope to see you on the lions tour.
I was there yesterday. Good game 🏉🏴

King of saracens🔴⚫🐺
Glad to see he’s finally got a southern accent after almost 20 years. No contrivance at all x
It's bullcrap like that, that destroys great players.
