Frankly, I'm 56 and remember these sort of tackles happening 10 times a game when I was playing. Worried that the game is imploding under all of these rules and online witch hunts.
Hope I'm wrong.
Tell me another international 10 or 12 that consistently goes high. Stop the cap. Farrell is a captain and supposedly went to tackle school after his last hit. The system isn't perfect but why did a Japanese player miss time when it was pretty much the same hit Farrell does.
Finally somebody who is actually talking sense and not hysterics!
I’m an England fan and like Farrell and my own thoughts is the tackle he made was a red HOWEVER I’m not a rugby law expert, and if the panel said it was a yellow then I accept that as they are the experts not me.
Owen is the most universally hated international rugby player and there’s telegraph articles from years ago which clearly state that. So now that the masses have smelt blood this whole thing has become trial by social media. It is a circus.
We can hate both thanks
Well list down the names of players that are comparable to Farrell....
Don't worry we all can wait
He should be banned
@@Rayzajw
Quade Cooper has 6 yellows and a red,
Bundi Aki has 2 reds and 4 yellows
Sexton 4 yellows
Finn Russell 1 red and 2 yellows
Take Lavanini 3 reds and 7 yellows
To be fair most fly halves are coached to go high, at 1s receiver they are supposed to bump the ball carrier amd gain a second and rely on a back row player to make the tackle . The doctrine is that
you want your play maker in position and not stuck in a maul.
Personally I think Farrell deserves a ban however I do agree people are going a bit overboard on this .
Farrell plays dirty, dangerous rugby, his favored "technique" of no arm tackling could easily end a player's career at or put them out the game for a time. No respect for the man as a player at all....I like hard well played rugby but not the way Farrell plays it.
Farrell' s MO is to put in the high shot then stay down as if he's hurt. He's done it throughout his career and got away with it. Despite daddy's protests he needs to be properly sanctioned otherwise World Rugby will be seen for it's colonial bias and corruption. If this was a Pacific Islander he'd be out of most of the cup.
He is known to shoulder people. So no need to blast "disgusting" treatment. When you keep doping this, you will eventually get the world to comment. If it were your son that was shouldered to the head, would you still say this? Disgusting attitude. Think of the welfare of players on the field and not just your son!
Ban is ban …RFU … stop putting English rugby like something great … it’s not
Owen Farrell is just a dirty player and that is a fact! He should have been banned for life long ago.........................
I totally disagree with your opinion of your so. When he rejected his runner up medal at the World Cup, he and the entire English side should have been banned for life The English side should have been banned from the next World Cup. A most disgusting display of bad sportsmanship.
Explains why his son can't play the game like a gentleman, within rules when he has a father like this. Bullies aren't born! They are raised....
Wow reading comments Andy Farrell is spot on.
Irrespective of if you like Owen Farrell or not, when did rugby fans become so hysterical and emotional that vilifying a player like this has become acceptable by posters who like to proclaim that rugby is unique and superior in its values over other sports like football.
I dont see any difference between rugby or football fans comments, both attack players for reasons real or imaginary.
I dont know Farrell nor do i have a strong opinion on him either way, but comments on here are embarrassing
Well I thought Farrel the dirty Ferret's stupidity was because of his constant shoulder and head charging however listening to his dad I now realise it's genetic and the apple did not fall far from the tree.
and yet the team that Farrell coaches have a miniscule number of cards of any colour
@@michaelburke5910 thats because Simon Easterby is the defence coach not Farrell Easterby coachs the Ire. squad on clean disciplined legal tackles. That detail makes a difference.
He deserves all the shit he gets but maybe the cause is his father😊
He is a thug on the field
Appalling treatment. One player being victimised by the owners of a twisted system. Bunker bo***cks of the highest order
Could you enlighten us as to which player is being victimized?
@@Marius_vanderLubbesurly he means a player having to face the consequences of his actions... 😂😂 and his dad predictably sticking up for him.
Victimised? Rugby fans are angry because he is always getting away with illegal tackles. One day he could easily ruins a players career by injury.
@@decland6017 that is an issue with the adjudicators isn’t it ?
Yes victimised. I am well aware of his history but even in law, it is deemed wrong to toy with the accused. This whole shit show is the fault of world rugby. Without the "bunker" the ref would have simply red carded him, job done. There's also the rest of the England squad and their prep to consider. We're 3 weeks out and world rugby just can't help themselves
Cant wait for the Boos
Father like son no difference he was also a thug!
Clown he was England's greatest league player
😂 all the team supporters are scared of Farrell talent
Your forgetting, a high tackle has ALWAYS been illegal in Rugby, just because the emphasis and focus on them has changed, players make errors, i could reel off 30 players that have made terrible tackles in the last 2 seasons, mostly SA ones!
Johnny Sexton abusing officials in a game he didn’t even play in is far more abhorrent
Hhahaha farrells talent. The only talent he has is being a half wit.
BS
Off you go, start reeling...name just 2 from the SA please?
😂ja...farrells a scary prick..even at 32- 12 we were quivering..clown
> players make errors
That was no error, it was 100% deliberate.
Speaks about honesty but can't be honest about his son, admitting your error and owning is the true sign of honesty, no one is perfect but if he calls it as it is he would be more credible
But Faz did plea guilty
I’m with you Andy!! No need for the circus!
Yeah just ban him for 6 weeks like he deserves.
It looks offensive stratigically applying more use of his legs be less effective probably gurly possibly save teams campaign
He brought this circus on himself with his repetitive poor tackles. He knows exactly what he’s doing and he must be punished
Should of taught him better technique daddyo coach,
What is disgusting is a parent defending a child when they should reprimand them and lead them to do better. No wonder he continues with the dirty play.
The Woaks are taking over rugby now .. that tackle was hardly a yellow card , that’s why they rescinded the red card .
Get your eyes and brain (if you have any) checked mate.
If that's the case why didn't the recind the Japanese players that infringed a few weeks prior. The problem imo wasn't the hit, it's the consistency. If Farrell gets a pass so should everyone else
Shameful
@@Rayzajw Agreed .
> that tackle was hardly a yellow card
And your refereeing qualifications are???
Your son is wrong Andy.... Just face the facts and admit it. Owen has always had the idea that he is above the law . Ask Tiger Woods what happens when you find yourself there. And unfortunately you Andy played a role in getting him there. It's hard but true
Did did face the facts, he did admit it. He pleaded guilty.
@benrawson007 but still tried to get out of the red card. So once again he is not taking responsibility for his actions. Don't play with words. You're wasting everyone's time
@@johnsantos3392 Pleading guilty is not trying to get out of it, quite the opposite. It was the 4 independant judges that said there was mitigation.
@benrawson007 looks like your blind faith has backfired 🤪🤪😂😂😂
Can’t fault a dad for defending his son, but Owens actions have been, for years now, unacceptable. World rugbys hypocrisy knows no bounds. AB’s gunna smack em all
Protect your son just like RFU protects its captain in the face of clear foul play. Who's the disgusting one here, really?
Lovely to see he’s spot on
Can’t wait until he’s the English coach
Maybe he should focus on his inability to coach his son one of rugby's most fundamental skills ... the tackle.
Honestly, he should have opted out of discussing this mess.
I'm disgusted that your making your son out to be the victim
Let's not forget what he done to the players head .
Poor owen clowns the lot of them
Grow up Andy
I do like the Farrells. Owen & Andy. Bit of dog in them. Now lets see Owen do more of the same this weekend.
To be fair Andy certainly has the dog in him..Owen on the other hand, slightly more of the Bitch the way he goes about things🤣🤣🤣🤣
