It's a great feeling when after many years you find your dream guitar.
I gave up looking, and went the custom route, not Fenders overpriced custom shop, i found a great luthier in the U.K. called 42nd Street, and they built my dream Strat at a lot lower price, but just as good if not better than Fender.
My last piece of advice is be happy with it, and don't look at any others, at least not for a while.

      Sweet guitar brother! Very nice!
Last year I picked up a Squier Classic Vibe 50's strat in white-blonde. I found myself gravitating to it even over my AmPro hss. It's very light and the neck feels great. So, I had the shop build me a custom decoboom red tortoise streamliner pickguard loaded with fat 50's and cts pro pots kit. I also swapped the nut out for a tusq xl then topped it off with dunlop willy g's 08-40 strings. Dude! Tone for miles. Of course the guys at the shop rib me about my 700 dollar 300 dollar guitar 😜 meh... they're just jealous! hahaha

Well, I am a lefty as well but I started to learn guitar in school and the instructor told me to put it round the other way.
So I now play a right handed Strat and have two guitars that are now 40 odd years old.

As you know I'm late to the party with this video because I didn't even know about InTheBlues when you posted this. I'm really ecstatic you found your "Perfect" Fender Stratocaster. I, on the other hand, am a glutton for punishment. I have 8 that I'm not going to part with...well voluntarily anyway. I was so impressed by the bridge cover on yours that I immediately searched to see if they would fit mine. No Such Luck!!! I "Hate" when "that" happens!!! This strat looks Great to me!!!
One last comment about the case..."If" I had that case for any of my Strats??? My cats would immediately destroy them. Starting playing in the 60's I am fully aware that the Tweed cases came with the Strats, Jaguars, and Jazzmasters then. But now...I'm pretty much a Molded Case fan. I'm very happy to hear you use the Fender Molded case for gigs!!! (Not a fan of GigBags at All...Actually, I think they are like not even having a case...No matter how "cool" everyone seems to think they are. Like Guitars...It's all a matter of personal preference. What's good for one might not be good for me.) Speaking of Cats...I really enjoyed seeing Gus make an appearance so Gus can make the credits!!! I hope he is still doin' great!!! Thank you for the great video.

It´s now in storage (for now)... My Tele has taken over. Not gigging at the moment and, playing at lower volumes, the Tele kills it! I was taken With the blue player but held off for months trying to find one of the ones I really gassed (the sunburst a tribute to srv’s #1 ,& the black a tribute to Clapton) eventually I gave in and haven’t looked back yet . This guitar is not only an excellent playing and sounding guitar , I love the look so much I find myself staring at it when it’s out of its case lol

Vic Soboleski The Tidepool colour is stunning. I truly believe this series is the best “standard” MIM yet. There’s nothing to upgrade, they’re ready to roll out of the box. I do know exactly what you mean by falling on hard times, I had to sell my C Shop Strat a few years back for the same reason. Not to worry, I’m well on my way back now. It sounds like you might be getting there too. Best of luck to you, just keep going mate, and stay safe over there.

@intheblues Got the same model also as a keeper. The reason why 2 and 4 position sounds more juicier than other strats is that on this one the middle pickup is not reverse wound/reverse polarity, so both pickups ARE in phase and sums up rather than doing frequency cancellation and sounding too scooped. And this also means 2 and 4 are not hum canceling :(

I gotta say on my American original the tone knobs are insane. I was naming at a guitar center last night testing amps and the worker thought I was on the neck pickup. I was on the bridge with the tone knobs all the way down. Both tone knobs have an insane range from super bright to super dark. Biggest tone range I’ve ever seen in a tone knob. It’s like having a full EQ in the tone knob alone. I’m blown away by how bright and dark it can sound with both tone knobs. I have your color as well so mine is also ash. It’s pretty hefty for a strat. Mine is a keeper as well. Fender knocked its out of the park on this one.
The only thing that I don’t like is it doesn’t have the RWRP so no noise canceling positions in two and four. I thought about swapping out the pick ups to maybe custom shop pick ups, but these pure vintage 59 pick up sound absolutely fantastic, so I probably won’t even upgrade them. Best sounding and feeling Stratocaster I have ever owned, and I’ve even had a custom shops. Don’t get me wrong my custom shop is out of this world as well, but so is this American original 50s. It may not be better than a custom shop strat but it’s on par with it.

The neck is glorious. And the pickups sound amazing compared to my custom shop pickups in my MIJ strat. Plus the modern 9.5 radius is a plus. I am not a fan of the 7.25. Also the tone control on the bridge is amazing. Bridge is super versatile. Its so easy to tame the bridges sometimes brittle top end just by rolling the tone down to 7. And if you want extra cut you just roll the tone back up to 10. Love this guitar!

Congrats on a gorgeous guitar! I've seen the originals and I agree those are guitars for life! Just out of curiosity have you tried the Professional??
It's also fun to see that we share some similar approaches to our guitars. Because of you, literally, I went and got a Gibson LP Special (Got it used and the timing was perfect!), and I mean it because here in Chile there are limited options. You can always import even used ones, but the cost really goes up.
I have an Ibanez AZ HSS (similar to your Vola that is a modern approach of a Strat, and it's a great guitar!), and I just got a Fender Pro I saw used, looked almost new, and I was looking for a proper Fender Strat tones, and a guitar I see myself for long term. Between both I'm done! (I hope, hehe)
And I have a Squier Telecaster Classic Vibe 50's that's is just a great guitar! I don't see, at least for me, any reason for looking for another tell, since this one sounds great for me, the neck is a little small but very comfortable. Maybe I will change frets to taller ones since I have noticed the medium-jumbo are good but I prefer taller. All 3 other guitars have taller frets and It just feels much better for me.

the American Original is currently the top-tier Fender. If we didnt't feel like it was the definitive Strat ever, Fender would have failed. I am yet to see a bad review for this one. Seems QC is really working well on this line too. :)

So even the American Original 50s has this damn plastic foil which I absolutely hate, since they even put it below the pots and screws and so you have to unscrew everything to get the foil off. Gibson Guitars don't have this. It's unnecessary.

You seemed to also really enjoy playing even more than usual on this strat, probably a very magical strat. And I agree, to me too it’s one of the prettiest guitars I’ve seen you with. I love ash bodies when you can see the grain through the finish a little. Absolutely stunning. Reminds me of the Mary Kaye strat

I struggled to get back to being a one guitar person. In the eighties I could only afford one and I loved it. When I started to make money I started accumulating guitars and it drove me nuts. But for the last 12 years I've had one guitar and I'm wearing it out nicely.

I remember when you were talking this way about about your Squier Classic Vibes, then your Mexican Standard. They keep going up in $, so after you tire of this one, maybe you should just skip the Custom Shop relic, and go straight for a pre CBS Strat, and really have done with it.😉

Hey man, I've tried three of these left-handed, and the pots were always weird. They were likely right haded pots or wired wrong, which made the volume control not very useable. Like... There was no volume taper for the first 7 numbers, and then a quick drop off. I really wanted one, but everyone that came through Los Angeles, to this day, still has a wiring issue. Have you noticed this on yours at all?

I'm almost jealous. Almost, because I've got a 60th Anniversary Classic Player 50's Strat and I'm still no good at playing guitar. Don't deserve a better one ;-) The guitar looks quite odd, sand colored with golden pickguard, bridge and tuners, but it sounds pretty good! Even in my hands.
Have fun with the last Strat you will by for a very long time. I hope to hear it often on the channel.
