    This is really good. Must be playing styles coz every comparison, the 50s wins imo but I prefer the melo warmth on the 60s on this video. Clean and with gain.

    This Fender Series is the best for my taste. I dont care for the Pro II with all its modern appointments. These 50s and 60s Original series are what a Stratocaster sounds like to me. Beautiful guitars.

      I am blessed to own a '50s version, and I really love the thing ... nice, big neck and great sounding PUPs. Just need to get those third string polepieces lowered, but they are too high for me for plain strings on ALL Stratocasters! That's one thing Fender can't seem to get right and I've been doing this for 61 years ...

    Small thing but hate the mid 60’s logo on the 60s, for that reason alone I will get the 50s, just doesn’t seem right that a vintage reissue carries that logo

    I think these are the best value under the custom shop, a pickup swap away from that level, or even better ! I would rather have a AO with Ron Ellis , Virgil arlo, or don mare pickups, than a custom shop, and it would still cost less.
    My AO 50s tele, with don mare, hot bake lights, is my #1 guitar, and own many. That guitar was picked out of 10 AO tele’s , and is a light and absolutely Stellar example of early blackguard tone. I have had 2 AO guitars with gummy necks when new, took a few months to dry out, they are rock hard now, also had a Eric Johnson with the same issue. The 7.5 radius is what I hated about vintage style guitars, my favorite is 12” the 9.5 is fine though. AO line is killer

    I love the deeper voice of the 60's but the 50's V neck fits me like a glove. The day I get my hands on a Rosewood V neck I'll be set haha

    IF Fender was making only one Stratocaster/Telecaster family, THIS would be it. I have a '50s Am Orig and while it is not a perfect guitar, it IS the most resonant Fender I have ever played, and I have been playing Fenders for 59 years, including several years working in music stores ...

    • @lecanius
      @lecanius 2 роки тому +4

      what makes it not perfect if I may ask. im about to buy one :)

    • @ganaorganador

      I also have one... ltd Mary Kaye 50's am- original... and I kinda disagree. If Fender would only make one model it would be the american professional. This necks are not for everybody. But yes- without a doubt the more resonant strats I've ever played. Mine is chambered, which I didn't expect and it was odd to see a big chamber within the body underneath the pickguard. They sound awesome but the 50's one is not the easiest to play- even though I'm a tall guy with big hands and been playing for 30+ years.

      @@lecanius Sorry to be so late! They have the nut cut so that first string gets lots of board, sixth string barely stays on! Neck needs shimming, but most Fenders do! Overall, a fabulous guitar. Nice big, fat (to me!) neck that feels great.

      I had the same 50s version….kept it three months, didn’t like the neck or how the 1st and 6th strings were so close to the edge. Resale value in my area wasn’t the greatest either which says something. Everyone is different though. And playing live, the 50s obviously had the hum which I soon didn’t like either but no fault of the guitar. I have two other Strats I like a lot better.

    I like the 1960’s red color but why on earth did fender switch to a laminate fretboard material. All the new models have laminate rosewood. On a $2000 guitar that is crazy

    • @WhateverCrake
      @WhateverCrake 3 роки тому

      That’s period correct. A 62 start will have a slab rosewood fretboard and a 65 will have the laminated rosewood.
