Well, I remember it being pretty bad when they tried to remove most of the f2p rewards, and pull the rug out from under people’s feet 🤷♂️ I’m sure that didn’t help retain players.
Not just that, but growth that was extremely inflated to an unsustainable degree through the insane amount of marketing the game did. It was always going to plummet to a more natural population after that hype died anyways. What they did just really didn't help things
I agree thankfully now is much more f2p friendly they learned from their mistakes

@@meetingmyomens yeah I think at the moment is just a matter of farming to get all those resources and planning out carefully the team you want to build. Im F2p and I maxed out Fully 3 characters and have tons of supremes just from playing pasively in a casual manner.
I could even earn more stuff if I often did laberinth, arena and such they been gifting summons, they also gave before chests with 5 star of your choosing and also a hypogean one, they been actively providing the community with what they are asking it certainly feels more they are more engaged.
and Now we have even further playing modes and more team wide passives that help to make the game more rich in terms of combinations and such.
but yeah that is my two cents on regards to that.
Just started a few weeks ago. i actually love the designs. And especially because you get to see your avatar and the costume you got them in the cut scenes. They also made a meerkat and hyena humanoids actually cute. 😂 They gotta stop making all Graveborns green doe. And give better rewards.

It did. The game has also improved a lot but id say is a game to play slow and steady rather than rushing it so you cam maximize the enjoyment

This game is never worth for returning players... Due to how rewards of everything is based on server ranking... And if you left the game chances are whales would have left you to dust or even F2p's who are casually playing the game would have progressed so far ahead. Like even at launch this game was heavily reliant on who can grind out more afk stages on day 1 so that you have your characters to get high ranking which then allows you progress further. Returning is never worth it. Also the fact that every character is borderline unplayable at 1 copy you need mythic+ so grind for server ranking comes again
As a F2P this isn’t true, quit for 3 months and still get top 500 district and top 120 servers

F2P myself, also can confirm from this isn't true, obviously you aren't going to catch up to the people who put in the work every single day to stay active on their server and farm everything possible but I am competing at the top of my entire server district on every leader board without ever spending a penny on the game, you cant complain that the players who stuck to it are ahead of you.
I can also say as a top 20 player on my server that the rewards you get for competing at the top make almost no difference to my account, all im getting really is the limited cosmetics and title for bragging rights, the materials you get are inconsequential compared to how stacked you're account already has to be to maintain a position on the leader boards where you consistently get those rewards, therefore, those rewards mean nothing to anyone not getting them, they just look appealing from an account not able to reach them. And yes it is possible to reach the top of the leader boards f2p as that is what I am.

One of the best "side games" you can play. So much fun and plenty of content that you dont HAVE to play, but can whenever you feel like it.

as an avid afkj player, heres my fair share bout the game;
the game itself great and fun to try out too for anyone curious out there, however ironically it contradicts its very own title which its "supposed" to be an "afk" typa game where u can relax and chill typa stuff, but instead the game forces you to grind in order to progress forward.
by grinding, i mean not in a heavy way, but in a way where optimally to get good stuff quick is to log in everyday. Do ur dailies, fight daily bosses, clear tower cycles, roam around find some chest, battle arena etc etc.
But dont get bumped yet, bc altho what i just mentioned may make some ppl dont wanna get into the game, one thing i absolutely love bout this game is that, the pulls are VERY generous, LITERALLY. How exactly ? Well again, i repeat, just do your dailies bc the rewards are very huge. I think its a way for the devs to keep players engaged, but then again its not so afk-ish if u ask me.
All in all, its a game, meant for entertainment, just do what u love and ur good to go.
Bro, on the contratry most of my friends that play this game complains abt the lack of stuff to grind..
It is an afk game that has bursts of content that takes longer but most of the time ur done in 10-15 mins a day. As for the rewards, yes you get more pulls but you need 8 copies of a character to get them to a useable state
@@dvvna there's literally so much grind... 5+ arena dailies, 3+ supreme arena dailies, story push, world map clearing, faction tower dailies, 6+ relic runs, and more, none of which can be blitzed except the relics. a full run of all this shit can literally take you up to 30-40 minutes for a single account. i dont think your friends have played much at all
they have so much more grind than any idle/auto game I've played. Oh god do I wish for them to add skip battle for some of the contents since it takes a lot of time to grind daily repeatable contents and not counting the exploration. The rewards is "generous" because you need dupes to upgrade the characters, unlike hsr for example, you only need to pull for the character and sometimes the weapon and you'll be able to max out your new character immediately, dupes are optional in this type of game.

Game is dog shit, boring as fuck with next to no reward incentives and a ludicrous amount of pointless dialogue and grind. Arena was 1,000 times better despite being less impressive visually

I play highly-competitive games like FPS and MOBA. AFK Journey let me relax and take a break from a competitve environment. It has good story, nice music, and unique art-style which what made me try this game. It's team-building type of game. There's no main team that you can run for all gamemodes. The game does a good job at making you use different units.
I surely get your fear of the seas brax, personally even a swimming pool is a big problem, love your content keep it up

Main story was good, 1100 stages and decent story for this type of game, s1 story was good but lasted 7 days to complete and s2 is peak to me (we don't talk about bugged animation of rat queen and rhinos)
Started afk arena back in the day cause of battle cats having a sponsor thing for playing it, passed its goal posts, then it had one for afk journey, its a decent game but back then not as many characters, see alot more characters now though.
I played it for a few minutes and had a blast then the next day I forgot about it
Love your videos. I started playing afk journey at launch and my interest in it just petered out. If you’re looking for a new game to play then it’s a good pick, but if you’re juggling a bunch of other gacha games, it’s not gonna give you anything special

AFK journey is literally the perfect game for me. The combat style is perfect for someone like me who just wants to sit back and enjoy watching the fight. The combat is balance in a way every hero has a value . The art style and character design chefs kiss❤.
You can actually progress in the afk stages in the background while you do other things.
As someone who started playing 48 days ago from this comment and has done everything I can every single day as a f2p I am consistently competing even with the whales at the very top of my entire district server, this game is INSANELY friendly to f2p players and I am absolutely loving this game, the new season had really impressed me as well, I will start putting money into it soon not because I feel I need to but because I think this game is truly worth my money and I think the developers deserve it.

I never wanted to play TFT, but AFK Journey got me hooked on their version of it anyway.
Unfortunately I stopped playing and picked up Snowbreak. It's faster to get dailies out of the way, there's not a million things to micro-manage, and I'm not barraged by spendy ads every day.

this game translation is still pretty rough in my language and there are still quite a few of bugs. I'm enjoying this game so much. Probably the best idle game out there.

I actually picked up the game due to Brax's initial video. I think the game can be alright as a F2P if you're A) okay with basically restarting every season and B) you focus primarily on the story instead of the PvP elements. For me, I found the game taking way too much time especially after the reset of the first season.
There was also a pretty big problem with global chat at the time, which I'm hoping they've since cracked down on.
I've been playing since day 1 and I can still highly recommend the game to everyone! 🔥

Game was fun, but after I hit max level I didn't see any reason to stick around because of the exact reason you said at 0:37. I didn't enjoy the story, I found myself skipping every cutscene and reading the summary. Not even the hot furry momma could bring me back (I'm not a furry, but...)

Loved the music and the art style. Hated everything else, especially how P2W it was... And it was horribly monetized. I've heard they've improved in both of those things, but I gave up before they did. It felt.. too busy too, like to do your list of stuff could take forever.
Edit: they do give out free characters a lot, but one copy of a character is borderline useless in most cases.

I started playing this game at launch but it got boring pretty quickly for me unfortunately. I stopped playing after season 2. I do quite like the character designs and the aesthetic of the world though. Just wish it was more interesting of a game. Idk, maybe its also cuz I'm already playing other gacha games like HSR, ZZZ, and E7.

Its a good lunch break game , but as someone who has been playing since launch its definitely dying. Total population is declining. Servers are grouped in "Districts" for things like ranking etc, and I kinda just see the same 250 people left.
