You're right. Crossovers are really minivans for people that don't want to be seen in a minivan.
On our Touareg TDI, you have to pull the shifter back to engage "S" (sport) mode. Moving it to the manual shift side will automatically shift when the engine hits the rev limiter I think. The dash indicator should change to "S" from "D" when you do it. There is a significant difference between "D" and "S" even when you leave it in auto mode.
I have a GTI and have never seen that engine look so small. It looks like the GTI got all buff but never did leg day.
Well it's in a much bigger engine bay what did you expect 😂😂
😂 very true!
If only it was longitudinally mounted... I don't know if they have any worthwhile V8's to fit in there (maybe an NA version of a modestly sized Audi mill) but imagine it with a W12... :)
We love our Atlas SEL V6 4 motion! Tons of room (two adults in the third row) and comfortable! Great review Sarah!
I really wish Volkswagen would make a new Scirocco, not more crossovers.
Yes! This!
I think they found it was competing too much with the Golf though...🤷♂️😕
Scirocco... Yeeees!
Great review as always Sarah!! And yes,my grandparents would have loved this car..too bad they died in like,1975...the lab coat segment is my favorite part of the video!!
Congrats on 250, 000 subs!!
You're right, the VR6 Is a great engine. I had one in an Audi A3 3.2 and it was awesome.
Weep Weep. Nice review.
Car review for drivers, done by a driver.
This is how all car reviews should be done.
You're videos crack me up! I also love how you emphasize the letter T on almost every word except for when you say "button." Makes me laugh every time.
The exhaust sounds just as exciting as an 88 Ford Tempo. Perfect for grandparents.
Great review, Sarah!! Love your abandoned warehouse videos!
i like the styling of vw, they don't go radical spaceage angles just clean. crossover/ suv is just the modern day station wagon/minivan. I don't think most grandmas give it hell, haha ya can keep your cookies warm up there!
Oh, nooo, you didn't wear your glasses for the "Garage Science" segment.
No glasses.......but a bit more cleavage than usual.......
Above average on that score
You do a thorough car review. I like the amount of room in the back, it reminds me of my dad’s car other than I believe the rear seat folded forward to be able to sleep.
one of the most endearing features of modern VW's is the rear view mirror that is tucked away in the VW emblem... it's always clean and rain free... yet no one seems to mention it!! I think it's a huge engineering masterpiece, but goes completely unmentioned by every review
Little Bit Sarah gushed over it in a Golf review a while back.
Wow this video has been up for an hour and already 5500 plus views, you go girl! And no I don’t see the comparison to a square body Chevy, but you go girl!
Great review, Sarah! I completely agree, this SUV doesn’t stand out in the crowd & to add to that, VW dealerships are only located in larger populated areas. So if you live 100 miles from the nearest dealer, service is suddenly a huge issue. Been there & done that with a GTI.
Love your comment that this is the car your grandparents didn't expect
Loving the new look Garage Sarah.
“ weet, weet’ laughed as you actually had a back and forth with a bird. Great review! I was informed and entertained!
I worked for a company that supplied pressed sheet metal to VW here in Chattanooga, but that does not matter coz you are just so sweet.
I have an Amarok in Australia and it's a beast to drive with the 3.0tdi
It's such a shame they are collaborating with ford for the next models.
Your doing a great job Sarah it's just so natural and entertaining.
How's little Sarah going I miss her smile and the great way you where together
Got to be the best car describer known 2man! Great job! Listen to her b4 you listen 2da dealership
Sarah, could you please do a calendar for us? ok you can use the cars too. You keep getting better every video, better cars, better outfits, most importantly you. How many of you guys would like to see a calendar of Sarah and her cars?
By cars do you mean tits, Larry?
be careful what you wish for but I think you should do some research because you might regret your question.
You just made me subscribe hahahaha. You’re one comedian....and a great honest review!!!! Lmao
That bird is whistling at you Sarah!! Can't blame it😁
I'm in total awe of you 😘 for saying something most men wouldn't.
Amen sister, a pickup truck makes a lotta sense. They have m in Southern Europe and Northern African countries. Really nice looking midsize and compact trucks.
1/4 million subs! Congrats.
You're a great reviewer. Thanks girl.
Excellent review Sarah you are 👍 😍
I think moving the gearshift to the right just changes from auto to manual sequential. To go into sport program you need either select the sport drive mode (if the car has a modes selector) or push the lever to the rear. It is springloaded and will return, but having changed to Sport. The gear indicator would change to S1, S2.... meaning sport. It is so for my Passat at least.
My Skoda Fabia from 2006 already has the automatic reverse windshield wiper. I guess it's a default across most cars from VW. Someday I'd like to see a "Sarah talks to birds" compilation. 😂
11:00 is exactly why we have a FWD CX5. We have no need for the expense and maintenance of a car with an AWD system. We both hate minivans, and It has tons of room for our one child family. I like wagons but wife hates them, so this is what we have. Plus it was a great deal when we bought it when it was 2 years old.
I was amazed by the fact that you found the automatic rear wiper action when you put it in to reverse a surprising feature - I have the same in my 15 year old little Renault, which is just a sensible economy car and not premium or luxury in any way (the way I like it!). Maybe it is a thing more common in EU-market cars, I don't know...
5:03 The perfect feature for when you are giving a ride to someone that you secretly hate...
Any SUV under 500 horsepower will be the perfect vehicle to give a ride to someone you secretly hate.
I love your silly jokes! Thank you for being awesome!
ludicrousspeed82 x2
Entertaining and funny..great video thank you!
Hey I use my 2010 Tundra's manual gear selector ALL the time, it's great for slowing down the truck when towing or not using your brake for tailgaters HAHA.
Yes they need to bring the Tanoak into fruition...and that storage tray on that dashboard is for your BigMac!!!! 😂
I've started greeting people with "hellerr" specifically because of you. 😀
Great SUV. Awesome white shorts. Weak bolster wiggle. Amazing review.Amazing you.
The rear windshield wiper enabling automatically when you engage reverse is also something Fords do. At least, my Fiesta ST does it.
Thanks for this Sarah! Stay adorable 👍
Yay, my favorite abandoned warehouse Sarah! Come to think of it, I don't actually know any other abandoned warehouse Sarahs... I thought I read somewhere VW is bringing a "truck" of some sort to the US, but I could be mistaken. I am old enough to remember the one from the early '80's that looked like the front half of a Rabbit (Golf) with a little pickup bed welded on the back. I agree with you about the usefulness of a crossover without all-wheel-drive, but then I live in New England where it snows. Now if they only made this thing with the VR6, a 6-speed stick and 4-motion... it would be two times too expensive for me. Oh well.
Sarah looks like an (internal combustion) robot.
In a good way. :)
I love the looks of this Cross one.
Beautiful Sarah, that Forrest Gump moment in the back seat was super funny : ) You are glowing!
Hi Sarah, I’m in Canberra Australia and love your reviews, I was wondering if you have done a review of the VW T-Roc R, it is just about to be released in Aus and I would love you to do a review if you haven’t already. We’re not getting the 212kw version it’s the one with the GTI drive train. Looking forward to you next video. Stephen
7:41: Hood rises. I think I’d have a similar reaction faced with Sarah wearing that lab coat.
Afternoon Sarah. 👍🏻
2:02 In the first moment, it seemed to me that the back seats were already folded, then i realised they weren´t. Massive trunk, indeed.
You could get into a whhhhhoooolllle lot of trouble in that trunk.
@@blairbrown4812 Indeeeeeeeeeeeeedddd.
So much junk going on in that trunk.
Its a nice looking SUV. A pity about the lack of bolstering on the front seats. I liked the color of the one you tested as well.
Do a Stage 1 tune and Increase that bean score!!! Great review.
Sarah you look amazing and beautiful when you review the car I enjoy it
Hella Review 👍
Great review. Can you get ahold of a 2020 gli? Would love to see you test that.
I love the look of the new Cross Sport, just wish it was electric or a Hybrid
I was gonna make a comment about wagons, but then you did it for me!
My old 99 Saab did that with the rear wiper too, if wipers were on and you put it in reverse the rear wiper would activate.
See if you can get hold of a mercedes C43 AMG for a review. The V6 twin turbo mercedes engine and the 9 speed box is sensational. One with the sports exhaust on it too for that unreal sound! Love to see your opinion 👌
The tray area on the dashboard is to set your fries burger and drink when you stop at fast food. Because nowadays there's no place to put that stuff for your lap other than your.I'm in my sixties so I remember the day when you open the glove box and you could set your drink on the glove box door along with your food. Just saying I would like that. Looks big enough for a 12in chili and cheese Coney
I can’t say I could recommend eating and driving, or fast food for that matter. Lol
Honestly. I love you. I do not have any other words to say to you except love.
And for the rest of the world; OFc...
I had automatic rear wiper on my 2003 Skoda Fabia, and now on my 2016 A3. So, old news.
The Passat isn't discontinued.
Sarah you are so entertaining 🤣
The mainstream midsize SUV/CUV category is huge. Most brands offer two vehicles in the category: a group of smaller mostly 2 row vehicles ranging from 189" to 192" in length and a group of larger 3 row vehicles from 195" to 204" long. The groups apply to nearly all vehicles in the overall category but there are a couple of exceptions. The 189" long KIA Sorento provides three rows of seats and the VW Atlas Cross Sport is by far the largest of the two row group at 195.5" in length.
If there's one lesson VW has learned about North American consumers it's that they like their VW's BIGGER (and usually less expensive) than European (and most other international) buyers. The Atlas replaced the smaller and more expensive Touareg in the US while a new generation Touareg is offered in Europe. The American Passat is considerably larger and cheaper than the European version. The current Tiguan in the US replaced the first generation smaller and pricier version. In fact, at 185" long it (along with the Nissan Rogue) is the largest "compact" crossover sold in the US. The smaller version is still sold in Europe and the US version of the Tiguan is known as the AllSpace in other markets and usually considered a midsize SUV. The current generation Jetta is larger than the last and isn't even offered in VW's home market in Germany. And when VW decided to offer a two row midsize SUV in the US they made the Atlas Cross Sport larger than any competitor. It's even a smidgen longer than the 195" long Toyota Highlander. And much like it's 3 row Atlas big brother, it's built in Tennessee and almost exclusively offered in North America. With VW's decision to drop the basic Golf in the US, that leaves only the GTI, Golf R, and the Arteon as US vehicles that closely resemble their European counterparts.
American consumers who prefer the size, handling, and performance of European VW's have been left largely out of picture. As far as VW is concerned, those consumers should be looking at Audi vehicles. That's a shame (imo) but VW, like other mainstream brands, is devoted to making a profit and the sales of vehicles like their SUV's and the Jetta compact sedan are a strong argument for their strategy. Whether it works in the case of the Cross Sport will be evident in the next year, or so.
Omg you're right..the front end looks more like a Blazer than the new Blazer does
"fruit and robot compatibility" omg i laughed so hard at that
Summer Sarah has such cute fashion style
Seems like a solid Cross Over that just gets lost in the mix. And yes, front wheel drive seems kind of waisted on a Cross Over
I wouldn't think many people would need AWD in the South.
wow. I didn't they still made the vr6. Thats awesome.
Loopy but lovely looks more like an older Honda minivan which I’ve always thought were the toughest looking minivans if that’s possible? I really like the color. Always a good time Sarah🙂🐧🐧🐧👍
1:16 The moment when you lose an argument against yourself... :)
Sarah the bird whisperer!
Nice review. What bird is making the lovely sound at the end of the video?
Totally agree with VW should bring a truck to the U.S.
Will never happen most likely. They know most Americans that buy trucks only buy American, then the rest are probably Tundra owners.
There are talks to bring the Amarok to the states for 2022, but I don't think we will get the new 3.0 TDI. Darkside Developments just finished building one with a larger turbo for a customer and the thing is a gem. I'd daily an Amarok that does 0-60 in under 5 seconds, has no problem pulling two dirtbikes and gear in a trailer, all while keeping everyone comfortable in a decent sized cab.
VW won't bring pick-em-up trucks to the US, as they would be subject to a 25% import duty because of the 1964 Chicken Tariff.
It's already here, it's called the Ford ranger(amarok) Ford/VW co build.
@@frankiem749 not yet, the current Ranger / Amarok are completely different vehicles now. But the next gen. will be a colab for exactly the reasons above - chicken tax + americans mainly buy american in trucks. Will be a "me too" effort.
Sarah - I wish they sold more wagons in the US.
Me - I wish Sarah had gotten to review the Regal TourX.
(PS - you saying "if you are going to get a utilitarian vehicle get AWD" - AMEN!)
You need the VW 3.0L V6 Amarok Ute that they have in Australia 580nm 4WD and the upspec models have paddle shifters
I like back seat chill Sarah.
You are so funny!! Thank you
Talking to a bird in a empty warehouse in the middle of a car review... you are awesome.
I move the shifter to the side in my Golf when going up an incline because otherwise it shits itself and starts shaking and clapping.
"Fruit and Robot compatible" Lol's, needed a chuckle
i live in costa rica and we have the truck here, its really nice
Now I want one. BTW I love my shifter on my 5series, I can downshift for twisties. No paddle shifters for me
I subed cuz ur funny!! And u did the back roads Cruze , no one does that!! Cheers!!
Watch Sarah come up with a Wheep Wheep rating on how fun the car corners.
I'd either want to see a truck or the Passat wagon with the R AWD turbo setup.
Having a power inverter = neat!
Another stellar review and outstanding Bolster Wiggle. I tried to translate Bolster Wiggle to German...but the translation looks more like a dance club name in Berlin. So i won"t use it. :)
We don't get that model in Canada, we only receive the AWD models which I think most people will buy, surprised you didn't test the AWD version (?)
The bird was doing the whistling I wanted to do. LOL
You’re spot on. I think I woulda rather seen a Atlas “truck” and a SUV.
Sorta silly to overlap the Touareg and minivan segment with two atlases.
That engine name is a mouthful
Am i the only one disappointed you didn't have the usual glasses on for the "Garage Science with Sarah" part?
VW isn't likely to have a truck in the US market. It goes back to the 1960's when Germany put a tariff on importing chickens to protect their farmers. The US responded by putting a 25% tariff on light trucks. The chicken tariff eventually went away but the truck tariff remains to this day. The whole thing is referred to as the Chicken Tax.
Awesome, I'm right on time to give it the beans!
I agree. I could use a VW pickup truck. Anything to help me with pickups. 🤓
Pickups are pointless unless you're a builder or carry very tall things which is why they're a niche market in Europe.
Actually it's the ever tightening emissions standards that leave no room for heavily taxed giant V8 trucks.
What about carrying loose material that would ruin the interior of a car or van?
haphazard1342 there are workvans for that
Volkswagen isn't the only one that killed a bug. Agree about the VR6 with AWD, as long as it has real exhaust tips.
