      @@malcolmpalmer569 Oklahoma was given a lot of favours too, but a lot of people won’t admit that. They had inflated scores, and it added up to more than the difference between them and Florida.. It is genuinely discouraging because teams know they can’t win because the scoring is so bad.

    Looking at Olivia’s beam score.. It was dropped so i know it didnt count but just for the purpose of the message, she had 2 major breaks in her routine and scored a 9.825.. There were 2 or 3 routines that LSU did that werent perfect but were better and scored either the same or less.. It just doesnt make sense!
    Audrey Davis got a 9.95 on beam which she did amazing. Kayla and Slone both had picture perfect routines also and only got scored a 9.9 each.
    Kayla and Rachel only scored 9.9 on the floor yet Ragan scored a 9.9125 (with a move of the front foot), Faith scored a 9.925 (with a move of the front foot) and Danae got a 9.9375 (a hop back on the first landing). Considering Kayla and Rachel both had a pretty near perfect routine, their scores should’ve reflected the same.. It may not seem that big of a deal but those little differences make a huge difference.. Florida only lost by .150..

    • @justlina2769

      And Trinity Thomas' bar routine had a much bigger form break on the landing than either of Olivia's on the beam. Trinity's score was a 9.9125. Kayla Di Cello's form is never anything to write home about (she literally never is fully extended in her legs or her body) yet always scores highly... also she hopped on her vault landing and got a 9.9. Aleah Finnegan was totally robbed on her beam score in both the semi-finals and the finals...LeeAnn Wong should have had a .3 deduction for her landing on her first floor pass because she went out of bounds with both feet. We could all go on and on. Bottom line is that OU has the form and execution from the top to bottom of their lineup that no other team has. And they win because of it, and they should. You just never look for the overscores from any other team because you don't mind then.

    I was hoping Utah could finally win again after 28 years but it was not to be. Oklahoma just seems to be training better than anyone and they were able to make the right adjustments to outperform everyone. Florida and Utah were close but OU's superior training seemed to shine through again.

    • @billgreen4592
      @billgreen4592 Рік тому +2

      I too was sad. I really felt that Utah had what it takes this season, and in fact they did. They posted the highest score in the semi finals and beat OU by .065 . Unfortunately, they just had a horrible Vault rotation. I don't do the scoring discussion, and I think that it was equally bad for all the teams, as it usually is. What I will point out is that K.J.Kindler is a master at crafting routines that satisfy exactly what the judges want to see. They aren't as flashy as many like UCLA on floor, or beautiful like Utah on beam, or crisp and precise like Florida on bars. But they are finely honed to score. She has proven that she knows exactly what to do. There is nothing wrong with her approach, it is proven to win time and time again. It just isn't my cup of tea. There is a popular saying in "sports ball:" SCOREBOARD! I just don't think that it should apply to WAG. To me the score is secondary to the art. After all it is call Artistic gymnastics.

    • @LunaJLane
      @LunaJLane Рік тому +2

      @@billgreen4592 Yeah, K.J. Kindler does that so well. I was pondering on if NCAA Women's Gymnastics should start using the international scoring system but I'm not sure how that would change the training. They could do a hybrid where the physical requirements on each event don't change much but add in artistic scoring to give some emphasis to the beauty of the sport above the pure mechanics.

      They simply tried too hard on vault to get the "stick." That is always a bad thing. They usually relax and let the landing happen. Unfortunately they would have had to do more than stick 1 or two vaults. We lost by .45, that is a big deficit. Even if they matched their season high on vault they still would have lost by .075. They also needed to do a little better on one of the other events. As amazing as Utah Beam routine was had either Grace, or Kara had a perfect landing, it would have made a huge difference. Kara had a "collage stick," and grace took a step. Each had at least a 9.95 if they hadn't have made those errors.

    Florida should have won. Trinity is possibly the greatest person and collegiate gymnast ever. She’s so clutch and just an extraordinary person. I’m going to miss her and happy that she tied the record. Oklahoma on the other hand I hate her very much. The funny thing was a bunch of their routines were underscored but others were massively overscored. The judging was pathetic. Kayla deserved two tens and so did Riley on beam at least. Florida was fantastic and it’s hard not to root for them cause you can see the drive and determination in every single one of them and am heartbroken for all of them but they gave it the fight of their lives and they should be proud of themselves and so should all the coaching staff. I do respect Oklahoma tho because they are a fantastic team but I just don’t like them as people. Their coach especially gets on my nerves. It seems like she has no heart and most of her gymnasts seem to be just like her. The over scoring was just ridiculous and honestly sad that they crushed floridas dreams. I feel really bad and was invested in this team all year long. I hope they all keep their head held high and keep shining like they always have. Hope Trinity has no regrets cause she shouldn’t. That’s why their so consistent in competition year to year. OU was no more overscored than any other team. Florida gymnasts don’t have as good of good lines and tight form as OU. Lots of knee ends and foot separation from Florida, especially on bars. A fall on beam, huge floors mistakes. Haters gonna hate. The judges know what they’re doing and OU knows how to compete within the code if points to maximize execution.

    Oklahoma should not have been there in the first place. Name any other postseason quad meet in the history of the sport where only one of the four teams has to count a fall, and that's the team that winds up winning the meet. I guess when you're OU and the Regional is in Norman, suddenly everything you do after the second fall is 9.95 worthy. Yes, they were the best team today, much as I was hoping Utah would finally break thru again. But if it's a rule now that they have to win every year, just give them a trophy at the start of the season and tell them to go away so the rest of the teams can compete for a title.
