My one and only time meeting ELVIS PRESLEY was when I was 4 year's old I was in the back seat in the car with my mom and dad in the front seat I had my window down I was saluting the american flag as I always did since I was 2 well ..along side my dad's car pulled up this 1960's black limosine the tinted window rolled down over half way I looked over and there was ELVIS saluting me back!!! with that big crooked smile of his! ELVIS winked at me then rolled the tinted limosine window back up. Omg!!!😳😳😳 I hollered at my mom and dad and told them that I just seen ELVIS in that car right there my mom and dad seen the limosine but couldn't follow it because my dad was in the other lane and ELVIS's limosine had turned the corner to head to the freeway because he had the concert to do in Seattle which we didn't even know at the time. I will never forget that special few seconds a one on one moment I had with the King of Rock and Roll. Later on I became very good friends with ELVIS 's costar in "G I. BLUES" ROBERT (BOB) IVERS who played the roll of "COOKIE" BOB shared some great memories with me about him and ELVIS on the set. BOB IVERS is gone now too who I miss very much as I miss ELVIS on stage and on the radio hearing his new hit songs may ELVIS and BOB's memory live on for eternity.
Wow! That is a GREAT story!😊🐝❤
It just shows where Elvis comes from humble beginnings that’s why he’s so polite you can’t help but to like the guy
The sums up Elvis. Very polite and modest.
nah just a fcuked up neurotic like everyone else. why do u think people drink n take drugs ?
I've heard countless stories about Elvis. Nobody has a bad word to say about him. He was always kind and polite.
Elvis was and still is the greatest entertainer of all times.... No one in the world can match the king of music who's popularity is still growing even 40 years after his death.....
Definitely late to the party, but whatever. I'll always remember when I first heard of Elvis' passing. In fact, I'll never be able to forget it. A four hour drive away from home, we were all leaving a little early in the late afternoon (sounds like a good country music song) from Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. The engine turns over and the radio station announces with perfect timing the old "we have a bulletin from Memphis, Tennessee. Earlier today, the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, has died." I wasn't a big fan of his nor a small fan of his but no one could deny the talent. Boy, talk about a buzz kill for a four hour drive, plus it happened the day before my birthday. Now, whether I think I'll ever forget it someday or not, every year before my birthday or whenever my family is at, going to, or even passing an smusement park I can't forget it. It's not like we were friends or had ever even met each other, I'll always remember it. Long rest The King.
Elvis is the only KING!
You could see in Elvis’ shy like smile, his true inner self. He had to know that most saw him as one of the most beautiful people on Earth but he wondered why, why me? He really cared about how people thought of him. Humble.
I just read where Kathy Westmoreland, one of his back up singers, said one of the last conversations she had with Elvis was he asked her "what would people think of him" ................
Love Love Elvis The very Best singer of all times ❤️❤️❤️
Elvis Presley still the best friend a song ever had period
That would be Conway Twitty!
@@coffeewithjesusandtheharts1259 NOT EVEN CLOSE
@@virgiljohnson9880 Stop being so defensive lol!
I've always said, "once Elvis sang a song, it had been sung"
@@thetruth72667 He's not being defensive. He's just telling the truth. Twitty was one helluva' great singer with a voice all his own, but as good or better than Elvis? Question :What brought us to this vine on a branch all it's own? Answer : Nuff' said.
Unbelievably classy and sooo nice Elvis was...
I was there when they were filming It Happened at the Wolds Fair. I was 7 years old, the one thing I remembered was Elvis's jet black hair, and how long it took just to film one short scene.
Very polite and modest.
So many people remember Elvis as a really nice man.
ELVIS....ONE UNBELIEVABLY EXTRAORDINARY ENTERTAINER/SINGER....ONE IN A BILLION UNBELIEVABLY EXTRAORDINARY HUMAN...cannot say it stronger than that !!!!
Love Kurt Russell.... There is something so super genuine and humane about him, and it comes forth in all the roles he plays, and make them so real.
He played the Best Elvis , and I've read somewhere he was Elvis"s voice over in Forest Gump.. That was the Best ever.. goose bumps worthy..
Love and respect for Kurt too
I really liked him in 3000 Miles to Graceland too, a fun little movie if you don't take it too seriously.
@@joemckim1183 That's his best performance as Elvis. He doesn't look like Elvis, at all, but it's a fun movie themed around him!
@@CooManTunes In addition to 3000
Miles to Graceland he actually did a biopic about Elvis in the late 70s.
You know I agree there is just something I like about Kurt Russell , I think he would great to hang with anywhere especially at a party , just to cool 👍
Such a wonderful story. Thanks to Kurt. Elvis comes forth as some one who loved to relate to people on equal terms, as well as being so genuinely humble.
Being surrounded by cronies was not his choice. He reached out to people, yearned to connect , to be an everyday guy.
The Lonliest ,Popular man ever....
If you look at Elvis's core group, The Memphis Mafia, really up until the last couple of years of his life, was made up of guys he grew up with or he was in the Army with, Elvis didn't hang out with celebrities. He only spent time in LA when he was making movies, otherwise he was home at Graceland.
Thank U for teaching me About þ/You know when I look her in the eye she stares at me and I see Connie...guess it was meant to be...Lord U Are the Picture of
Elvis was a prisoner of his own fame, that destroyed him. The Beatles once said that they were subject to the same prison but at least they had each other to cope with it.
All the more reason that he was and is the best portrayal of Elvis in film.....
I remember that whole era very well. I was 12 years of age and one of my heroes ( Kurt Russell AKA Morgan 'Two Persons' Bodine from 'The Quest' TV series) was acting a childhood musical hero Elvis ... I had the double album that accompanied the film and I loved it !
Out side Elvis,he is the best ELVIS,,truly brilliant actor,,,and him as Elvis to me the best Elvis movie
Great sound track also !
Kurt Russell, one of the top 10 best actors actors of them all.
Kurt is a classy Man, as Elvis was.
The ZILLIONTH time we hear a positive story about Elvis. In 40 years of listening to stories about him or reading books/magazines or the thousands of You Tube clips, I dont think anyone has a bad story about meeting him.
Sure there were issues with the Memphis Mafia, but come on no one is a saint.
Oh we miss him & wonder what would have been had he had some type of Robert Downey Jr ressurection of his addictions & career.
RIP elvis
Elvis was a kind, generous man with other worldly talents and looks - God bless him! I love hearing stories from folks who met him or worked for him, especially Mary his cook from Graceland and his back up singers the Sweet Inspirations!
One of my favorite actors
Bing Russel was everywhere, it became an obsession with me to spot him, from the Twilight Zone to The Magnificent Seven, he was my "Where's Waldo" obsession.☺
This was a beautiful story about Elvis He had many gifts and he was very humble is a very natural actor had to tell him to do so much more then the scripts they gave him but all in all he made about 10 to 10 to 13 movies it showed he could act could Russell is a great after himself good so stormy
Kurt Russell has interacted with Legends straight out of the entertainment history books like Disney, Elvis, not to mention his own father.
Kurt did such an amazing job as Elvis Presley!
Gosh, imagine, all these past 40 years I was unaware of all this incredibly important information about how Elvis flattered people he thought might help his career.
All of the interviews about Elvis make him appear very child-like. A serious enigma of a man.
V.E. Elvis was always polite and respectful...maybe this is misconstued as child like because as individuals grow up they expect respect...they act like they're above certain people inc children and their egos become horrendous...its no enigma ...Elvis remained constant in his self - he didnt expect to be liked just because of who he was, didnt expect everyone to know him, didnt look down on any one & was respectful of others equally in their jobs, whatever the job was. He was always a shy slightly insecure boy yet had enough about him instilled by his family, to bear in mind he could do anything and do it well without being rude or arrogant. He DID soul search as to why he had been chosen to be so famous...he couldnt understand what it was people loved so much about him...that never left him.
How respectful and kind!
when you hear celebrities talk about Elvis its make him sound like a super star.
Liked Bing Russell, Kurt’s dad, who played Clem On Bonanza. Kurt gets his good looks from his dad. Of course, loved Elvis too.
Love and respect for Kurt. Hope to have a chance to dine with him.
Kurt Russell does have something special about him. Thinking part of that something is that he's a man's man, but also a woman's, fairly rare combination. He also has had life experiences most don't, and they show in his character (and don't take that to mean just roles). For my money he's one of Horrywoods most underrated actors. He's both Snake Plissken and Captain Ron, Eldon Perry from Dark Blue and Wyatt Earp from Tombstone. The man's got IT, plus for those that don't know he's an accomplished pilot. Very grounded and secure in being a man. Of course he doesn't have the woeful political views of many in Horrywood which likely contributes to his being underrated.
I’m a huge fan of elvis Presley’s I love 💕 elviss music and flims too elvis will always be the king 👑 of rock and roll 🎸 my dream is to visit Graceland and communicate with elvis tcb ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️all the way 10:24am
Always polite...a real gentleman.
The lady hosts one liners under her breath were great
If you've seen Overboard you can spot Bing Russell besides his son at the Wonders Of The World Mini Golf Course inauguration scene. When Kurt is addressing the crowd, praising 'Annie' (Goldie Hawn) for her creativity there is a sheriff in a dark green jacket at the right of the screen, that's Bing. And he is also wearing (guess what ?) a cowboy hat.
Awesome. Love this story.
Elvis was natural, he had respect for everyone. Kurt played him brilliantly, Precilla said he was very realistic in the role.
I GREAT STORY ABOUT ELVIS COMING FROM A GUY I JUST LOVE…
Kurt made a great Elvis x
Mi favorito actor .
Kurt eres el mejor .
There is an episode of Andy Griffith show called The Loaded Goat, I have seen that episode several times and never realized until recently that the blast foreman is Kurt Russell's dad. He also appeared in one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes.
He also appeared on Big Valley
Kurts, dad was good, a good lunch box actor, and he loved baseball, go to Netflix and watch Battered Bastards of baseball. Both Kurt and his dad are in it . Fun movie and a true story
Great story indeed.
Kurt does Elvis in 3,000 Miles to Graceland. Very cool.
Happy 70th Kirt ! Let’s see another Tango & Cash
He’ll be touched by the sentiment that you spelled his name wrong . . .
nice story
Yeah, it really was!!!!!
Always loved Snake Pliskin....
The movie was it happened at the world's fair which was filmed in Seattle in 1962. In the movie Elvis pays Russell to kick him in the shin so he can seek the aid of a foxy nurse.
Just what I was wondering. Thanks.
Never knew Kurt Russell’s Father was an actor.
Sea Hunt with Kurt Russell's Dad and Brother was a great TV show, seeing the Ocean and the landscape was a treet for my sister's and me,we lived in the country and TV was the best thing we had,But in black and white,BUTIFULL and Great.
Russell? Hmm......Bridges perhaps?
I saw the movie where Kurt was 10yrs old and he kicked Elvis in his leg 😎
Very Good!...
Great !! Thank you so much !!!
I'm going to find out if Kurt Russell has written a book with stories like this. And to anyone reading this for another great memory of Kurt's type Charles Bronson / Kurt Russell.
From things I've read on Bronson he was a piece of shit in real life. A good one to ask would be Billy crystal
Kurt Russel once told a story about shooting light bulbs in Elvis's swimming pool.
One together dude
Elvis Presley had already done 2 westerns by the time he said that
Cool.
Kurt Russell knew Walt Disney. Walt thought highly of Kurt's future as an actor from o read once.
I like Kurt Russell. I'm envious of him because he is shacked up with the hottest chick that ever walked the planet. Her name is Goldie Hawn. Kurt is the luckiest man on Earth. That's probably why he doesn't leave the house. Imagine waking up every morning and thinking you have died and gone to heaven. A woman that beautiful, that can hold her liquor, and laugh at your jokes. Kurt is just unbelievably lucky. I know he's talented. How does that dude rate? I mean what's he got.
Imagine walking around every day going God loves me. I mean he really, really, loves me.
He rewards me everyday in everyway. Thank you Kurt.
For sharing your gift, for all the great entertainment, and letting us look at your stellar girlfriend.
A very special thank you.
@Sharon Jensen That's a sweet story. I always enjoy hearing an actor speak out of character.
Because then you appreciate the magic that they do. I get the impression that they're both very nice people. Take care and be well.
Anyone know were I can see how kurts dad wore his cowboy hat
Look for Bonanza episodes that says ""Bing Russell" as Sheriff---many are on UA-cam and also on reruns on INSPIRATION and ME TV channels on TV reruns.
@@alicephillips3214 Thank u
The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes.....
..and so he did, the end.
Those are some heavy big ass cameras for a simple interview.
Kurt Russell is cute
If the universe starts over I would like Elvis to ask me if he could be grounded for 2 weeks like I was. I’d be like, “Sure Elvis. I’d be honored. Leave 1 or 2 of those women with me. My room is that way.”
I'd kill for Kurt's hair.
His father had great hair especially in his younger years on TV. Kurt actually has his Moms shape face though.
Who is his dad ??
Bing Russell. He later bought the rights to a defunct baseball team in Portland (Portland Mavericks) Kurt was on the team too. There's a documentary on it. "The Battered Bastards of Baseball" Highly recommend watching it.
"if I ever do a western" ??? He had done two by that time, and it would be another 6 years before he did his third and final western, "charro".
Elvis could have said "another" western, and Kurt remembers it as him saying "a" western.
That's so true, Bryce! Sometimes the words just aren't verbatim. After all Kurt Russell was pretty young then and all-in-all memories have a way of slipping with all of us.
or maybe he meant a western movie where he, elvis, can do what he wants but never got.
Who's his Dad?
Bing Russell was a prolific actor mainly in westerns.
@@rmick66 oh thanks
0.44 Elvis walks past ........lol
Who is his dad, me don't know
An actor named Bing Russell.
Wasn't Elvis's first movie a western?
And?
And then Elvis got drunk, angry, and shot that had 12 times, while a member of his entourage was wearing it.
Marvel: What qualifies you to be cast as Captain America/U.S. Agent? Nevermind who acted in "Guardians, Volume Two."
Russell: My first name is Wyatt. That same actor starred in "Tombstone." Whose dad, in turn, showed 'The King' how to really wear a ten gallon. 🤠
Marvel: Hired!
Big trouble in little China... or , Lost in Space......
wtf was that?
alcohol has ravaged his looks
Elvis was kinda creepy and terribly odd.
You are NUTZ ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Great story, good memory !
Elvis was a gentleman, always.
