Oliver kept this a secret from Felicity for so long and she doesn't care that he has a son, she wants him to trust her, which he clearly doesn't. Notice how it's mostly men hating on Felicity?
"She has no right to say what happens to William or where he stays." Dumbass. First, Felicity wasn't mad because she didn't have a say on where William lives or what happens to him. Felicity was mad because her soon-to-be-husband didn't trust her enough to inform her about William. So, the bottom line here is Felicity wasn't mad because she wasn't allowed to control William, she was mad because this wasn't the trusting relationship Oliver promised. Second, Felicity does in fact have the right! She's going to be Oliver's wife & mother of his children, not future girlfriend or fling. In other words, if the secret about William wasn't exposed, Oliver basically trapped Felicity into a marriage where sooner or later, she's going to find out that her husband has another family. Now, if a woman were to do that to a man and basically allow him to marry her without telling him she has another son/daughter a couple of miles away, people would accuse the woman of using the man. And yet, when Oliver does it, it's fine? It's not his fault? Asshole.
"It was Samantha's fault not Oliver's!" You're a simplistic idiot, not everything is black or white. If I told you to keep a secret that I killed someone and you did, does that mean that you're still innocent in this situation? No because you became an accomplice to my murder meaning you were partially liable for why a victim wasn't able to gain justice. In this case, just because Samantha promised Oliver not to tell Felicity, it was still Oliver's decision on whether or not to comply by Samantha's wishes. And yes, Samantha may have been using William against Oliver so that he's forced to comply, but it's not like Samantha's going to find out that Oliver told Felicity? After all, Felicity kept way darker secrets of Oliver and yet never manages to slip. So honestly, between a woman you had a one night stand with VS a woman who saved your ass a couple times & who you've decided to marry, did Oliver really have to place his loyalties to Samantha? Yes, they had a child but need I remind you that both of them didn't want that to happen.
"She couldn't look past herself and her hurt feelings to do that. He deserves better than someone who walks out as soon as things get tough." God, the amount of emotional manipulation in this line. Firstly, Felicity DID look past herself & her hurt feelings. She did this all while combatting some mad guy who was trying to kill her husband & her husband's secret child (Watch the episodes god!) . Second, do you honestly think that Felicity should just ignore that her fiancee was seeing another woman & his son behind her back and be, like "oh! it's no problem! let's all be happy now that the secret's out! :)"? That is stupid and honestly, degrading as a woman because it's like Felicity's expected to be this docile & submissive girl that allows Oliver to do whatever he wants. And third, why does Oliver deserve someone better? Is it because he's a hero and he deserves special treatment like being allowed to visit another woman & child behind his fiancee's back? Sure, Oliver deserves all the praise & glory for saving the Earth but when it comes to being a fiancee in this era, he doesn't. At the end, he's a human like all of us, he makes mistakes, and he can be held accountable for that. And honestly, if Oliver deserved someone better, pray tell, who the fuck is it? Can the next woman hack into ARGUS databases & top-secret organizations just to find & save Oliver? Can the next woman be brave enough to argue back at Oliver's face when he's making wrong decisions? Can the next woman take a bullet & be paralyzed for life without blaming Oliver the very least? Can the next woman be loyal enough to take care of Oliver's children until they're old enough and then follow Oliver to the death (spoiler alert!)? Can the next woman push Oliver to be the better hero he is now rather than a bloodthirsty archer whose only thinking process is to kill his enemies? I bet you, no.

I'm a woman and I still don't like Felicity's behaviour. A huge part of my dislike comes from the crossover episodes. Oliver just finds out he's a father and she jumps at him, because he took a minute for himself to just think through it. She accuses him of not running to her on the same day he found out. Because how dare he be in shock like a normal person and not run to her to explain himself on the same day? How dare he go to Barry(or really anyone else at all) before going to her? And she acts like they can't be together, because Oliver needed a minute for himself. Honestly, that left a very bad taste in my mouth, and ever since then it's been hard to be on Felicity's side.

Do people not understand this is a normal reaction to finding out your fiancé has a child they didn’t tell you about? It’s not even that Oliver had a child, it’s that he didn’t trust her enough to tell her about it and trust she can keep the secret. I understand why Oliver didn’t tell her, because if Samantha found out, she’d take William away and Oliver wouldn’t be able to see his son or have any kind of relationship with him. It was an impossible situation, but Oliver was trying to make the best of it, and like he said, he hoped Samantha would eventually trust him enough to let Felicity be a part of William’s life. TBF, Samantha had good reasons for making Oliver promise that, and Felicity had good reasons for being angry, because this whole situation revolves around the fact that Oliver doesn’t trust her with a secret this big. Sure, he kept his promise and told no one, but Malcolm found out and, in a fit of rage he came to regret later, told Damian Darkh, a mass murdering psychopath, about William, putting his life in danger just to spite Oliver. Samantha was very justified in making Oliver that ultimatum, and Oliver’s a good person for keeping that promise, but that doesn’t mean Felicity doesn’t have a right to be upset

Oliver's response was not mature in any way. He didn't have to listen to Samantha. Felicity has been keeping the fact that Oliver is the Arrow for *years* and she would never betray that information. Oliver could have told her that William is his son, and Oliver should know that she would never tell another soul. Samantha would never know, and Oliver would still be able to know his son. But he didn't trust Felicity enough to tell her the truth, and as a result, there has been this HUGE lie between them for over a year. Trust is probably one of the most important foundations of a relationship, and Oliver broke that.

@@lexi219 But in the end, it wasn't just Oliver's secret. He was keeping someone else's secret... that is something important to remember.

@@kissdiscutee so it’s okay for her to lie to him numerous times but it isn’t okay for him to keep a secret out of respect to his son’s mother?

@@Mayonidas05 I don’t think you understand the severity of this secret. He kept a whole child hidden from her, someone he was going to marry. Also what Samantha asked was unreasonable and he should have trusted felicity enough. Anyone in her position would have felt exactly what she did and probably worse.
