A little reminder, the Chinese year is not a lunar year. The Chinese calendar is a luni-solar calendar. The end of the lunar year is in June. So, you can say Happy Chinese New Year, or Happy Spring Festival, but don’t say Happy Lunar New Year.
Where I grew up, in Chinese,we say either Lunar New Year or "Old Calendar" New Year. Nobody says in Chinese "Chinese New Year". "Chinese" New Year appears to be how the west call it. Lunar New Year is not just celebrated by the Chinese, so IMO it's actually wrong to call it Chinese New Year. It's not some year that belongs to the Chinese uniquely. And I'm sure other ethnic groups at some point in the past also used lunar year calendar. And it is totally fine to say Happy Lunar New Year as many people do where I grew up. Happy Black Friday, Happy St Patrick Day, Happy Labour Day, etc. It's just the way it is these days. Nothing wrong to wish someone a happy day or a happy year, is it? Happy Lunar New Year everyone !!😃

Of course, you can still call it "lunar" new year for whatever reason, but it's misleading and frankly just factually incorrect. I personally prefer just call it New Year. And this is year 4723 of Wood Snake.
