All the things single women do for 1 (cook, clean, work, organize daily tasks, appointments, planning for the future, etc), most married women do for multiple people that see it as her sole responsibility and do not appreciate it... that's the point....not a benefit, and they want her to see it as an honor.

My mom is 65, divorced, and THRIVING!! She’s got some girl friends around her age and they meet up to have game nights, book clubs, and go out eat. She just finished culinary arts school. And she’s traveling now too.

I watched a documentary (a couple years back) shining light on this very topic, they shared cases of those that unalived themselves because of how lonely they felt. Also it is said that men are more likely to end themselves due to the mental impacts of loneliness.

This is why we both left organized religion. I’m 40 and married now for 18 years. We are childfree by choice! I refused to buy into the religious indoctrination. I don’t do his laundry. We now have our own room because hubby snores. But we make it our business to have extra snuggles before bed and meet for extra spicy time. I don’t cook every meal for him. And when I do he says cooks don’t clean baby, I got the dishes. I don’t clean after him. This works for us because we are always dating and having fun. He respects me and honors my autonomy. He doesn’t have to see me as a mother or caretaker and I don’t have to feel resentful. Oh and the best part we are newish parents to a 1yo cat (all of our 20 years we had never adopted a cat). We now want to start collecting more together 🤭 Ladies find a man who loves and respects your autonomy. Find a man who won’t treat you like his personal servant. Don’t settle because in the need you will be left holding the “bag”. Be safe out there.

Exactly! I usually book off the days between xmas and New years so that I can have the whole week off, and take advantage of the post xmas sales to treat myself. But other than that, I'm glad that I don't have the pressure of doing all that running around before xmas, and spending all day in the kitchen on the day in question (not to mention baking all evening on xmas eve - if raised with that tradition).
I love a bit of turkey though. So I usually cook a turkey leg and thigh about a week (or 2) before xmas and freeze it in individual portions (gravy too). So on xmas day, all I need to do is the side dishes. I'm not even in the kitchen longer than an hour on the day 😅
That's just another day of spoiling myself

Last summer, my daughter and I spent a week in Mexico with her boyfriend’s family. How many international trips did I go on with my ex husband? Zero. How many international trips did I go on with my ex boyfriend, the one whose family has a time share in Mexico? Zero.
Where did I go for Thanksgiving? My friend’s house. I brought homemade cranberry sauce and another divorced, single mom.
I haven’t dated anyone in over a year and a half. I’m not opposed to dating. I’m just not going to waste my valuable time on someone who doesn’t deserve it.

50-year-old women generally don't work late. They've established seniority in their careers and don't have to work insane hours to prove themselves or get their work done. I'm 46 and my career now is easier than it's ever been. I get more respect and more time off. I'm venturing a guess that this is the rule, rather than the exception, as we age.
However, what if we enjoy our work and "working late" isn't necessarily a bad thing??

My aunt never had kids. Her husband died in Vietnam and she never remarried.
She was never lonely. She had a massive community of family and friends she made around the world. Even in her 80s she was traveling and going on international trips/vacations.
She had a 22 yr old yorkie called Madame Eloise(rip Ellie). She was the oldest of 6 and lived longer than all of her siblings.
She passed away in 2022 at 92 years old. Her funeral was full of people who spoke on how she changed their lives and helped them during hard times. People flew in from other countries to see her off. She was well loved and cared for throughout her life and during her final days.
In comparison, my uncle died at an adult daycare facility, and not a single child, friend, or girlfriend visited him during his final days. He died at 72 years old. He has 11 kids, 2 Ex-wives, 3 BM, and 1 sugar baby. 👀

I am so glad that I don't support any kind of organized religion, that I am agnostic, and that I have not stepped foot into a Church in decades. None of these religious scams could work on me, because I learned a long time ago that most people in the Church are just fake, evil, and/or manipulative.

I live outside USA, we have a different culture here. But I'm so grateful that I met monks (one of them is 93, another one is 101) and nuns who advised me plenty of times to stay single and abstinent. And I'm glad I've listened to them.

Ok but what Bible is the Pastor reading from? Paul says singleness is a gift. This is why we can't just take their words as truth w/o first putting it up against the Bible. If the Pastor's OWN heart didnt idolize family then he would be able to admonish people that are single. But because he has made it an idol, everyone who doesnt have marriage and children, are "missing something."
Also, everyone goes through loneliness. If marriage and family are not a priority (or idolization of those things are not a priority. Lots of people idolize it.) then it's not going to be a big deal not having it. Some people are always trying to make whatever group they fit into seem superior. If you are married, great. If you're not, great.

I wish I had a husband, who doesn't see me as a human being. Who is too lazy to divorce me, cause that would mean that he has to do all the chores alone. I wish I worked for a man for free for decades, so he's able to have a job that gives him a salary. I wish I would neglect my female friendships, because my man is jealous, when I hang out with them. But he's too lazy to care for his own friendships.

There are people in this world with no one, no family and no friends. Just turned 69. Single and living alone for the last 25 years. Me and my dogs. Have been happy and creating a life without distractions or interference from men. Now looking forward to moving to a 55+ community, where I will be able to have more friends and expand my support system. Also engage in more activities. Being alone does not equal loneliness. These men be crazy, projecting their own inability to connect with others, or take care of themselves.
I'm 59 years old, unmarried with one grown child! I may be alone but I'm NEVER lonely! I have a full life, working, traveling and spending time with family, financially well off and I am STI free. He's jealous, misinformed and ignorant like most self appointed pastors. Believe what you want but don't believe that you will be sad, full of STIs and lonely! When you have Christ YOU'RE NEVER ALONE!!! That's the hypocrisy of his unbiblical sermon.

That’s why he had a list of chores for her to do but being serious you ladies allowed this to happen to you who told you that you had to do this no way in hell I’m pregnant mowing my lawn with a husband in the home. For you to do all that and he fills it’s ok for your pregnant wife to mow the lawn what else needs to show you he don’t give a damn about you or your baby.

I grew up watching my married mom be very lonely, working late, tired, with cat’s and a husband.
I’d rather have 16 each of cats, dogs, sheep and horses to look after than a man like that, thank you Mr. Projection in the beginning - but I kinda wonder how many of those illnesses he harbours in order for that level of pure ‘I’m CERTAIN IT WILL HAPPEN, IT HAPPENED TO ME!’ Kinda vibe he has going there.
Working late as single is better than working non-stop as a wife. And working late may lead to promotion while working non-stop only brings more work, especially when the husband gets old and sick.

I've heard of many cases where women end of getting infections/ stds from their own husbands so wtd is this man talking about. Being married doesn't prevent you from getting stds.
Even as a married woman, it's advisable to go for regularly checkup for any sign of infection because you can never tell what these men are up to when they're out.
I remember a friend of mine who'd always tell me how good her husband is and all that. Only for her to find out he was sleeping around with 4 different women. If she didn't find out then, he'd continue till he gives her one kind of crazy infection. Even being married to a man is still risky.
I miss the two dogs that have passed away in the past 17 years that I've been divorced, but I do NOT miss my ex husband, ex boyfriends, father, and uncles. I don't even miss ANY of the male "friends" I had over the years that pulled away or whatever. Males GREATLY inflate their worth and positive impacts in our lives. They're a net negative and always have been.
