    • @RawringAtYouNoobs
      @RawringAtYouNoobs 9 років тому +37

      nachscratch The lattice produced when H2O molecules form ice generally pushes out impurities that are usually free to float about between the molecules in the water state, thus making it taste different when the ice melts because it has less impurities like calcium carbonates dissolved in it. I think that's right... Any _actual_ chemists here?

    The best way to get rid of morning breath is to brush your tongue (especially the back area) for at least 30-60 seconds. Rinse your toothbrush several times in the process. I prefer to use a separate soft toothbrush for my tongue. Forget those fancy tongue scrapers, none of them work as effective as a toothbrush.

    • @johnathant6735
      @johnathant6735 9 років тому +5

      Brush before. Brushing after means you are ingesting all of that bacteria inside of your body. Brushing before makes sure at least some of the bacteria are killed.

    I hate eating as soon as I wake up since I have little saliva in the mornings for quite a while, obviously cereal is fine and so are most fruits but bread/toast is horrible, it becomes pasty and I have to wash it down with something.
    Which is why I brush my teeth before breakfast, so as soon as I wake up.

    You should talk about Tonsil Stones, aka Tonsiliths sometime as well.
    They are a serious factor for chronic bad breath.
    They can also cause infections of the Tonsils.
    I suffer from frequent Tonsiliths, and no home remedies have helped me rid them. i.e gargling warm salt water, using mouthwash, etc.

    There's a way to get rid of this morning smell by brushing your teeth with a drop of tea tree oil before you go to sleep. Tea tree oil kills almost every kind of bacteria there is, making your mouth very hostile environment for bacteria for the night to come.
    As for toothpaste, while it is very important, it doesn't seem to kill bacteria that much.

      There's an idea that it's a combination of all the substances (like mentioned in this explanation) that bacterias and other microorganisms inside our body produce, and we have all the time billions of them, of different species, which are strong enough for living in our specific body environment; and the components of our body itself, for that reason (depending of that two factors) we could have a kind of specific smelling, every person, or every dog, etc :) :D

    So I guess my next question is, if you brush your teeth before bed and use an antiseptic, where does the bacteria that colonize your mouth come from? Because theoretically you’ve cleaned them all out with brushing your teeth and using antiseptic. Or do you never really get rid of all of them even if you brush and rinse? And if that’s the case wouldn’t you at least remove everything a bacteria needs to grow and colonize like food to eat? So then really if you brush well and use antiseptic you should have either killed all the bacteria or made it a non resourceful habit for bacteria to colonize so then theoretically you shouldn’t have morning breath. Someone help me answer these questions please.

    -_- two things that work wonder full for me was . 1. Brushing theeth and tongue before bed using tongue scraper . Tongue scraprer work wonder full for two reseans . First it removes plague from your tongue .
    Second it decreases the friction of surface of the tongue
    2. Second thing i did was oral probiotics . This work wonder full , because fights the bad bugs in the mouth . But you must keep in mind that you use the right dosage for you . For me , it can only stop bad breath if i use three tsblets . Expensive but worth it .
    Last thing you consider is tonsilectomy ,post nasal drip , mouth breathing , wisdom teeth problem .
    Also dont forget to use anti microbe herbs after you brush in the night . Teatree oil , blackseed oil. And coconut oil pulling are good option .

    Cadaverine causes the smell of rotting flesh, eh? Is it found in plants? There's a plant we have like 5 of in my backyard that, when it blooms (or dies) smells, to put it lightly, putrid. It also is surprisingly alien in appearance inside, with slime and what looks like plant blood. I've been really curious to know what causes it to stink so badly but I haven't had much luck searching for it online.

    i have to ask this: do americans brush their teeth before going to bed?
    i ask this because i recently learnt that in america brushing your teeth before but not after breakfast is a thing and i want to make sure it doesn't get any odder than that.

    Isovoleric acid--Now I don't think it's so weird that I always thought my dog's feet smelled exactly like Doritos. The smell under her eyes/side of her muzzle was unique...same smell for all dogs, but didn't smell like a food I've identified. So scishow, what's causing this smell under the eyes?

    Since our body temperatures are about 100F, why does it feel so unbearably hot outside when it's around 100F?

    • @KemaTheAtheist
      @KemaTheAtheist 9 років тому +1

      7chanconn7
      Because 100 degrees outside makes your body overheat. Your body needs an outside temperature of the low 70s to maintain efficient biochemical processes.

    • @benoitg6933
      @benoitg6933 9 років тому

      7chanconn7 i think it's because your body produce heat when using muscles and other physiological process so you feel hot because your body has trouble dissipating that heat.

    • @mohammadjj
      @mohammadjj 9 років тому

      7chanconn7 It's cause you're not used to these temperatures. Go to one of the Arabian gulf counties and you'll know what heat really is.
      FYI: 100F is a normal night time temperature in the summer of these countries. In fact, at this very moment it's 99F in Qatar and it is 1:20 AM there.

    • @KemaTheAtheist
      @KemaTheAtheist 9 років тому +1

      I'm a Black Lady
      And right now lot of the east coast of the USA, it's in the high 90s. It's no different being 99 here as it is 99 in Qatar except is probably a lot more humid here. A heatwave is scheduled to hit the pacific northwest, topping 110 in some places.
      Acclimatization takes less than 2 weeks to gain or lose. But even in 2 weeks, 100 degrees will still feel unbearable because it's a stress and danger to normal body function to stay in that kind of heat. It's a fact of biology, not a matter of "being used to it."

    Has anyone else had success with mouth taping at night? I had the worst taste and odor until i starting mouth taping. My dentist said that my gums are inflamed due to mouth breathing and I would constantly wake up with dry mouth needing water and now i wake up with way less bad taste and smell.

    • @rokishoto
      @rokishoto 2 місяці тому

      My uncle started doing this because apparently, it can also help reduce snoring. I also checked with kriss ai and it said that taping the mouth shut helps promote breathing through the nose, which can improve oxygen intake and filter out airborne particles. Glad it worked for you! 😁

    Why does my breath /not/ stink in the morning? Does it have something to do with that my teeth are perfectly fine with only washing them once a day? Everyone says it is disgusting but my breath and teeth are fine.
