It's so nice for GW to finally give attention to the space marines, so often forgotten
I know this is sarcasm, but it still hurts my soul
Imagine if a xenos faction got entirely new rules, models, books, and fanfare for each subfaction it had.
To be fair with the last 2 index sets they released. They serviced over half of all players in total.
If a subfaction had it's own models it might, just like Harlequins 🤡
@@Adclif if they gave xenos factions half the attention they gave SM maybe SM WOULDNT make up half of all players
its 100% a self fulfilling prophecy, SM are the most popular faction, so they get loads of models and attention
SM get loads of models and attention, so they are the most popular faction
eldar arent popular, so they dont get new models, eldar dont get new models so they arent popular
I love that they specify "no, the cyberwolf cannot be your Warlord"
Makes me think of a bunch of space wolves going
"This is our new captain!"
And it's just a space pupper with a bunch of medals.
@@AnEnormousNerdfew those puppers deserve it and head pats
So just a minor statistic from Lord Bricky our beloved. He could not escape the Space Wolves index without reciting the word "wolf" less than 62 times
"Classic" Space Wolves index reading.
As a dark angels player, being battleshocked is a buff
Tyranids: ...
Dark Angels: ...
Tyranids: Shadow in the Wa-
Dark Angels: WOOOOOOOO!!!
@sirmoth3955 yeaah baby, that's what I've been waiting for that what it's all about wooooo
Lore accurate to their fight against the Night Lords.
@@sirmoth3955and Mechanicus, we don't even have to bother deciding whether we want to be battle shocked or not, we'll take it and still take objectives
As a Daemon player; welcome to the club. I want to kiss all these models that want to battle shock test Be’lakor.
I love the flavour of the Dark Angels going all out under duress. It’s like their desperation to avoid failure and the truth getting out their push them to hit that much harder.
What's interesting is that their thing seems to be a lot less focused on secrecy/the fallen (they aren't even mentioned on the index at all)-with the events in Sons of the Lion, how hard they're pushing this battleshock flavor, and how interrogator chaplains got patched out makes me wonder if we'll see some major lore development on codex release
Honestly I really like that take, also people are talking about the offensive buffs but if you're 2+ OC going to 1 is still a disadvantage. Good trade for them though.
@@weavelcow9596 It's why I'm keeping an eye on Ancients-presuming the +1 OC buff comes after the battleshock debuff they can keep a unit at OC 2 even through shock
@@geistincarnate It will be interesting to see where that ruling lands. I also think that might be a little too strong, but a good investment, and very Space Marines. I can see it going either way.
Deathwatch, dark angels, and black templars are actually looking very powerful. It's a shock for the deathwatch, tho.
I think it's funny the Death Company dread has 8" move, higher than all the other boxy dreads and the same as redemptor chassis one, so even with those stubby little legs its soo mad it moves much faster.
1st Squad: Bladeguard Veterans led by a Judiciar, maybe on an Impulsor.
2nd Squad: Assault Intercessors led by Mephiston.
3rd Squad (behind the other 2): Sanguinary Guard led by Dante.
In deepstrike: The Sanguinor.
I call it the "charge me if you dare".
Yeh there were so many bladeguard potential buffs going on, I think they will be a go to 'attach a character' units going forward.
Waited all day for this just for Bricky to coward out on my death watch kill teams, funny and saddening but if I also read the proceeding rules before getting there I’m sure I’d also go crazy seeing those walls of text xD
that hellfire round strat slaps with assault cannons.
These aren’t even rules for kill team….
@@Johnny350Z a deathwatch kill team is the name of a unit in 40k
The boss fight of the astartes indexes speed run is literally just a bunch of little guys.
bricky, on the blood angels rule, heroic interventions now count as a charge move, so if they charge you and you HI into them, you still get the BA detachment buff
"Note that even if this charge is successful, your unit does not receive any Charge bonus this turn" no one reads this part.
@@isawaryokage the charge bonus is fights first
The unit still performed a charge and counts as having performed a charge for all rules purposes EXCEPT the fights first bonus
"Deathwatch players, figure this shit out on your own... i just cant" lol classic, that made my morning, cheers
The things that don't seem to synergize in the Strats aren't bizarre. They cover bases. Like if a Strat grants something to help wound even if someone has Lethal Hits, that's to give you a benefit even when you're not scoring critical hits.
Or like the Strat that grants Assault and Heavy. They are mutually exclusive keywords but having the Strat give both means you don't have to remember a second Strat. It's just a "this will give a buff no matter the state of the unit" kind of thing. Like a modal MTG card.
@@Dradly101, agreed. I'm a fan of it.
As a newcomer to the actual miniatures game primarily interested in xenos, Bricky's "Who the hell are these people?" speaks to me, it really do.
Corbulo is a classic! He's from way back in 3rd edition. Head Sanguinary Priest for the Chapter. His mini got rotated out of production last year.
With how good he is I wouldn't be surprised if he either gets a new mini or comes back as a made to order.
He was around in 2nd edition too, I remember all those characters from my friend BA army! Corbulo, Tycho, Mephiston, Dante, those guys have been around for quite some time!
Pretty sure that he and Tycho were on made to order recently. Tycho is technically dead so I don't think he'll get a model, surprised he isn't legends, but Corbulo is still alive, according to lore he is also fascinated by primaris marines after the devastation of baal for his research into curing the flaw so wouldn't surprise me if got a primaris model eventually.
@@tajj7 Tycho has always been popular though. Doesn't he have a book too?
@@jasongarfitt1147 Dont know but yeh I remember him back in the day and he was a go to BA character, I had the old metal mini as a kid.
The fact that primaris crusaders have 100 attacks is awesomely insane 😂
When Bricky opened up Wahapedia and didnt sort it based on Chapter, I had a heart attack watching him navigate the Datasheets.
Gonna be honest I don’t know how to access chapter specific data sheets on wahapedia
@@doctoradventure413 there is a drop down at the top of the page to select chapter or subfaction info
seeing Grimaldus in this episode makes me want to watch a book club episode about Helsreach
For Blood Angels, even though the Lance and Lethal Hits strat dont really synergize, at least it means you still get Lethal Hits as a combat buff if you were charged since you only get Lance and Red Thirst when you charge
Bricky losing his shit over Deathwatch was great, he's also fortunate that his brain shut down before he saw the Devastating Wounds ability on all the weapons & remembered the Anti-Infantry 2+ bullet strat.
If you put Logan Grimnir on Stormrider in a full unit of Thunderwolf Cavalry, that's eight thunderwolves.
The Santa meme continues.
I love how confused Bricky was at all the Space Wolves characters, we do have too many 😂
Yay, corvus blackstar can finally transport primaris boyz!
Your reaction to the adaptability of killteams was priceless xD
Warlord Titan: do 24 damage with fist.
Emperor's Champion: parry with two finger like a boss.
Warlord Titan: NANI!?
I am so confused at the idea that the thunderwolf cavalry decked out with thunder hammers and stormshields are lumped in together as the same statsheet as chainswords. Like it's kind of neat from a modelling standpoint how so many wargear options are being reduced down for simplicity but come on there has to be SOME room for options. Combining all the "power weapons" into one statsheet is a good idea but like tyranid warriors / thunderwolves / wulfen literally all just having 1 melee loadout is crazy
Dark Angels vs. Chaos knights
OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY
One thing you skimmed over with the Wolfguard Battle Leader is he can join a unit no matter how many characters are in it. So you could have him, a captain, and a lieutenant. We might be the only army that can do that.
I also have to believe the Wulfen hammer profile is a typo. It would be so stupid otherwise.
I'm not that familiar with SW weapons, but I think the Hammer is worse because you take it with a storm shield. So you choose between having more attacks or an invul save.
@@Lord_Waterenlast edition they were S10 thunderhammers...
Wolf guard terminators can take weapons that would normally either be restricted to regular terminators or assault terminators and have them in the same unit
1:26:58 this is based on him having literally replaced one of his hearts with an actual stasis bomb to go off when his other stops.
A "fun" little combo for Deathwatch players that Bricky was too Battle-shocked by complex datacrads to discover:
- Proteus Kill-team can be made up of 3 Assault Cannon Terminators and 7 "Long-Vigil Ranged Weapons" (These both have Devastating Wounds)
- Hellfire Rounds for Anti-Infantry 2+/Anti-Monster 5+
- Proteus is +1 to hit enemies above Half-Strength, Oaths of Moment targets give full re-rolls
- 25/32 shots per squad(depending on Rapid Fire) with Sustained hits 1 when in Furor Tactics, Average of 27/34 hits, average of 26/32 mortal wounds against infantry, or 14/18 against monsters.
- Do that up to three times (Tome of Ectoclades gives a second Oaths of Moment target)
Jesus fucking christ. I play Deathwatch, but still.... jesus christ.
Also: Death company dred vs Space wolf dread in melee, cage match back and forth
Very excited as a BT fan!!!! And that if we want to get rid of our detachement restrictions just. Take gladius!!!! and we still get our special units as we are only choosing that armies keywords for that armies special characters/units
Most of the Space Wolf datasheets are fine to great, it is only really regular wolf guard and wulfen that are mediocre to garbage. Thunderwolf cavalry is a lot better than it first seems, although it likely does require character support. The +1 damage on the charge applies to the extra attacks from the wolves as well, and combined with easy access to fall back and charge they should be getting this the majority of the time. Yes the nerfed weapon stats are disappointing but especially with Harald Deathwolf or a wolf lord they seem good. Bjorn and Ragnar both look great, so does Rockfist. Grey Hunters are good, blood claws good, wolf guard terminators retain their flexibility and can still take combi weapons, which could be very good depending on points. The detachment rule is meh, but who cares because you can use the gladius detachment if you want.
I just wanted the flying dreadnought to be a thing
😢😢
😮😮😅😅😅😅😅😮
I would just like to point out one little, tiny, tinsy, little, oopsy daisy funni.
3 Proteus Kill Teams can dish out *EIGHTY ONE* mortal wounds for a single CP against infantry units. 81 mortal wounds. One kill team can also execute The Lion with a wound to spare. #lesslethal
Explain
Less lethal for non SM they mean.
@@aeldariambitions6334 A kill team contains 10 models. 7 Veterans and 3 terminators. The veterans take Long Vigil ranged weapons, the terminators take assault cannons. At 12", they put out 32 shots. They hit on 2+, wound on a 2+ thanks to the stratagem, about 27 wounds. Not that bad for AP0, right? Weeeeeeell... they all have [Devastating Wounds]. Meaning, those 27 wounds turn into mortal wounds.
But the lion's a monster, did you use the Anti-Monster 5+ instead of the Anti-Infantry 2+? And did you account for his "No Hiding from the Watcher aura"? It's also worth noting that you'd need a captain in order to target that third Proteus Kill Team with the strat.
@@notdoomguy1616 The long Vigil weapons hit on 3' not 2's.
I reiterate Black Templars gonna be an issue
Being a space wolf player who started in 8th. Wulfen and my wolves were my thing now im sad. wulfen feel legit neutered. no big blobs of fenrisian wolves. and cyberwolves are characters (correct if wrong but doesnt that mean i can only have a max of 3?) they were cheap fast attacks that i loved to spam in order to bait deployments lol.
Watching Bricky have an existential crisis as he got to the deathwatch has made my day.
Love seeing Bricky slowly lose his mind over deathwatch hahahaha
One of the often overlooked thing for DA Black Knights was their melta bomb stratagem. It comes back with grenades keyword as well. If you have cp to spare (thanks Azrael) they can hurt real hard with additional mortal wounds while being very mobile (thanks Sammael)
Primaris crusader squads having 5 attacks with their chain swords is also hilarious. The amount of attacks they can put out as a 20 man brick that can potentially be getting both lethal AND sustained hits on 5’s is hilarious. And at AP -2 with the strat (or upwards of AP -3 with Grimaldus, though you lose crits on 5’s). Not to mention how they can take 2 powerfists for even 10 models lol. They will rip most things apart by sheer number of attacks and AP.
i'm slightly annoyed they get two more attacks than standard crusader squads, one more makes sense since that is the bonus primaris get, but why two more and scout?
@@555torkit's a typo it should be 4 attacks with a chainsword and 4 attacks with a power weapon for sword brother
@@TheUbikator hope so, if it is they need to amend that.
@@555tork I don't know if they will any time soon, but whenever I'm gonna play with my BT I will roll for 4 attacks instead of 5. (After talking with my opponent first)
@@TheUbikator What makes you think it's a typo?
I'm going to be sad when this series finishes. I've really loved these VODs
The Templar strat wouldnt trigger the second half of the Enhancements. Its specifically says "If X vow is active FOR YOUR ARMY". The strat only makes it active for that unit so it wouldnt trigger the second half.
About damn time. But for a brick you flew pretty good.
14:00 allocated also means precision for Captain Tychos rule
Really need to put chapters on this video so we can move to the ones we're Interested in
All 5 of us deathwatch players are bummed your brain was fried by the time you got to us.

Sad that lone wolves aren’t in the space wolves rules I really like running them
So nice to see special snowflakes chapters getting more rules then necrons or deathguard
I can’t belive Bricky missed the fact that the DW Terminators can bring 3 heavy weapons in a 5 man squad
Bricky i think you missed the best part about Arjac Rockfist, that being the fact that he's a liutenant, so you can include him on a terminator team that allready has a captain or chapter master.
Tomorrow is supposedly Daemons, Tsons, World Eaters, Death Guard, CSM, & Chaos Knights… 5 hour video?
Something our lord and savior actually missed is that Fervant Acclimation actually gives your Templars a vow *in addition* to the one you currently have for your army. So you could for example have Suffer as your army wide vow. Then use fervent to give a unit Accept aswell so you have both lethal and sustained hits. Now if you were to say have Grimaldus on a unit of 20 primarus crusader squad, you could then give them a 5+ feel no pain aswell. Effectively giving a 20 man unit Suffer, Accept and a better Uphold all for the price of 1cp.
Good on ya Bricky... As a DW player, I dont hate it. Still confused as to what is a vigil melee weapon as far as WYSIWYG is concerned...
It took me a while to find it, but from what I learned is that it is any weapon that isn't the called out weapons example, shot guns and comi weapons and the stalker bolt gun for range. For melee it's anything other then the hammer and xeno blade.
@@randomcast3183 Appreciate that... where did you see the clarification
I like how you can hear the Nightlords fan part of Bricky's heart die as he reads the Dark Angels profiles
Dark angels are definitely the polar extreme of nightlords in that regard.
"All i could hear from space wolves is
*WOLF* *WOLF* *WOLF* *WOLF* *WOLF* *...* "
Talonmaster having ''Leader'' is probably so he can be the Warlord and get enhancements.
The wolfguard can't take jump packs anymore... and bricky didn't read the war gear changes on the other units
That librarian dreadnought with charge + red rampage is so fun, went to a 1k tournament and this guy had Farsight and 6 battle suits with 2 drones per suit, so 10 wounds each. With the dreadnought and a furioso, I wiped 5 of the 6. 50 WOUNDS for 2 DREADNOUGHTS in 1 TURN.
hear me out: Take the "suffer not" vow. Max two primaris crusader Squads. One with grimaldus and a castellan with a relic, take the vow relic, full reroll to hits, exploding +5, with extra ap. and the other with helbretch and a apoc (or another castellan with another vow relic). profit.
Bricky bout to get a battleshock test for every datasheet coming out this week
Wolf guard pack leaders are pretty interesting depending on price, extra sudo-leaders for completing sagas.
Is it weird that hellfrost gunship had the torrent keyword in the focused shot rather than the dispersed one?
Did GW mess up with the naming?
I think you're overlooking Sammael a bit. Shoot and Charge after Advancing is insane on the Black Knights, who lost Assault on their plasma talons. Their melee isn't the worst either, being equivalent to power weapons, so that charge doesn't go to waste. He's even better with the Command Squad. It's important to note that there's nothing that specifies the Apoth, Ancient, and Champ are characters, so the Apoth (allocate wounds to everyone else first) can always bring a T5 W3 biker back every turn, including the Champ and the Ancient if they went down. Add in a Talonmaster floating overhead (giving it Lone Operative) to give Ignores Cover and you have a highly mobile, highly durable brick that with more firepower than a Hellblaster squad and better melee than Vanguard Vets. It's going to be a significant investment of points, but I think it will be worth it.
Ezekiel is kind of a meme in that you don't want to attach him to a squad (his options suck), but you can run him by himself and throw him at the enemy next to a squad with one of the Enhancements to force the battleshock. Either they ignore Ezekiel, who starts killing Leaders, or they kill him and give the squad next to him Turbo Mode.
They need an FAQ on Marshall's counting as capatains for the luitennant rule
Been refreshing all day for this lol
I love Dark Angels getting Super Saiyan level of Angry, can't wait for Ultra Instinct Lion memes.
Ya know for a dead guy, Tycho seems to hit pretty hard. I'm honestly shocked he's even still an option
Finally glad to see a video that is no all crying about things being different from 9th and crying about how there new 10th edition module rules are weaker when fighting against 9th edition army's.
Did… did he miss the interaction between anti-infantry 2+ and devastating wounds?
He seemed pretty done
I think Deathwatch killed the man.
@@threadmiser4914 They’re about to fucking kill everyone else too. I can’t even bring myself to play mine.
So Bricky you missed something huge for DW Vet Terminators. Their wargear lets them have any three heavy weapons instead of just 1. This means a unit can have 3 assult canons. Normally not scary until you remember DW have Hellfire rounds and Assult canons are dev wounds.
This means 5 terminators deepstriek down, pop hellfire roudns, make 18 shots hitting on 3's, wounding on 2+ vs all infantry cause anti-inf 2+ and each wound is a mw. So that's an average of 12-14 or so mw to any infantry squad in the game, ignoring toughness, ignoring saves cause haha dev wounds. All for 1 cp.
"deathwatch figure this shit out on your own im ... I cant im out" what words lmao
Oh wow Brother Corbulo was around back when I got started playing 40k in the 90's. I wonder if it's the same pewter model.
"I wonder what the dark angels got?" *proceeds to wheeze*
Deathwatch player watching you melt down was great.
Deathwatch is pretty nutty, but I'm ashamed Dark Angels lost their Interrogator-Chaplain
Maybe when our codex drops
Take a shot every time Bricky says "cooking."
Man so many of the Blood Angels characters got so little by comparison. Especially 'I'm in charge of half the Imperium' Dante. Feels bad.
As a chaos knights player I will loose every time to dark angels
I FUCKING LOVE SPACE WOLVES!!!!!! They got me interested in 40k initially
Dark Angels in 10th be liked "Oooo big scary Tyranid (Being battle-shocked) come 'ere"
....all the other kids better run better run. Outrun my bolt gun.
BT player in me is very happy
Just saying, Kill Team Cassius can get Anti-Infantry 2+ AND Dev Wounds for 1CP. That seems like a day 1 fix if I ever saw one
Can confirm that Dante's pistol is a casino gun. Firstborn or Primaris, my Dante's pistol has consistently done nothing. It's a joke in my playgroup that he doesn't have a gun.
Dude! Its like 1 am. Give me a break. Set the clock alarm or wake me up like 8 o'clock.
For the deathwing knights, couldn't you just pop the -1 damage in melee stratagem and you are basically unkillable in melee?
Yes
Maybe. -1 damage needs an faq to say that it does not reduce damage to 0. At the same time GW might say you cannot have multiple instances of damage reduction applied to the same attack. If the later does not happen then yeah your opponent is fishing for devastating wounds with any multi damage weapon.
Who's ready for a 6 hour Xenos reading?
Honestly, that's the only one I really care about.
Thanks Bricky! I love you for doing this
“HOOOOORRRRUUUUS!” - Tycho the Lost
I'm hearing the reason some datasheets don't have an image is because they are getting new models
my favorite is that they put the las fusil on the phobos kill team's sheet, but didn't let them give it to any of the models
Logan is baller as fuck in his pimp sled now. 😁
Those deathwatch sheets are almost incomprehensible
As a Nightlords Player... Getting fucked over by the Dark Angels feels very lore accurate.
Note how the deathwatch strats say "ranged weapon"
Hello 5 hellblasters in my kill team, enjoy AP4 plasma
So just FYI Bricky, Art of War when talking about these enhancements kept talking about how many points they were, which of course heavily suggests its a point upgrade rather than just a "pick 3 for free!" situation. So something that looks meh, might be extremely cheap points wise.
Screaming into the night when you see deathwatch. I approve this.
BA and SW characters seem REALLY strong
especially the wolves, their rules arent amazing, but everything else is, i dont think there is a single SW thing that DOESNT look good
BT stuff is eh, but they can jsut take normal codex things and have their stronger rules carry them
DA feel weird, like, their detachment rule isnt good, and a lot of their units dont really stand out as particularly great, but their enhancements and strats and some of their characters are REALLY good, and the fact they flip one of the games major debuffs into an actually BIG buff is just weird and potentially nutty vs some armies who revolve around applying the "debuff", its just strange
deathwatch have probably the single strongest enhancement its possible to have though
+1 strength, damage and armour pen for melee weapons, which goes up to +1 after they have killed A MODEL
give your smash captain this buff, kill ONE MODEL, and hes got like 10/-4/4 melee for the rest of the game, its actually nutty
Glad the Templars still rip arse
Bricky, you where just getting to the good part, reading about the intercessors with plasma incinerators, or the heavy intercessors with jump packs… probably a placeholder typo but still :D
Bricky losing his mind at the Deathwatch Kill Teams 🤣
