Wrestling Sloth Bears, India

- I sat quietly just a few metres away from wild sloth bears as they slobbered, tussled and wrestled over honey at Daroji bear sanctuary, India. These bears are wild and protected within the large reserve. Some are nuisance bears that have been captured trying to steal food, or attack people, in local villages, others have been translocated from areas where their habitat is being destroyed. Once a day the wildlife wardens smear honey on a few rocks to ensure that the most recently introduced bears have enough food. This makes them more visible and helps the wardens to monitor the health and population of the reserves several hundred sloth bears. It also gave us the perfect opportunity to film and photograph them.

India is one of the 17 mega biodiversity nations, despite population growth India has maintained its biodiversity, India is called mini Africa as it consist of all big cats excluding jaguar & cheetah which gone extinct in 1947,it has also has stable Indian rhino & Asiatic elephant population,there is lot of tolerance in India toward animals
But not towards the environment. You can respect animals all you want, but destruction of the environment will be their demise.

Why would anyone want to hurt such lovely animals -they are so genlte but when humans scare them they fight back. Its not there fault.
They're not exactly gentle. Bears are unpredictable wild animals. Sometimes, they attack just because they felt like it

@@ilumi421 let's say you were just walking in a sloth bears territory what if you didn't know your in territory they could easily maul someone because the felt like it or they could ignore them what if your not even close to them and they come to you sloth bears and any other kind of bear are unpredictable animals and should be avoided at all costs even if they are domestic you should keep your guard up at all times while with a domestic bear they can easily change their mood and go for you

The sloth bear is beautiful:one wouldn't think they only ate insects.
They also eat small rodents, frogs, lizards, birds, eggs, and carron (dead animals). But bugs are their favorite.

Sloth bears are really cute.
They can actually be raised like dogs and taught tricks of course that's illegal and can land you in jail

I don`t like sloth bears. Or, bears in general. They eat their victims alive. That includes humans.
