Yesterday was the first day I got go fishing for bass. I’ve been fly fishing for trout recently. Water temp was 66-69 degrees. Video was a great help to get my father and I to get to started.
Early May is when they start spawning here! We seem to be holding onto winter this year too. Shallower lakes are 48-50 degrees mid day, and most lakes are still 45ish
Same in Michigan, water won’t get above 45 🤦🏻♂️
@@PursuitofGameOutdoors Yup. I’m in southern New England. Looks like it’ll start getting a bit better soon but no where near spawn temps
@@krisramos7453 I just want low to mid 50’s….wreck em on a chatterbait all day long lol 🔥
Love tossing the frogs.. nothing like a top water blowup! Thanks so much for the expert advice. Love your channel.
As always your tips and techniques continue to make me a better informed fisherman. THANK YOU !!!!!
Love this channel because it’s usually about a month ahead of me here in Indiana. Helps build the excitement!
Same up here in Michigan!
I live in Michigan but I think I’m going to fish that swing head with a tube. I just ordered some Tokyo rigs for the gilly. Thanks Edwin. This monthly tips are Awesome!
Swing head jig is always a go to. Had lots of success and won several pot tournaments using it. I look forward to these videos every month! Thank you sir!
enjoy all of the knowledge and how to work the bait you are presenting always enjoy all of your baits of the month and places to fish each month
Great tips!! Helps me narrow down what to tie on before I leave for the lake! Thanks again, Ott!!!
I absolutely love these videos! They have helped me the past couple of years in our local tournaments! Oh yeah, I always pick you for my fantasy team!!!
Thank Edwin for all the advice and the info on how to use these baits. Think I speak for everyone when I say we appreciate everything. Tight lines sir have a great day.
May / June is when bass spawn up here in norther WI, and we don't have any herring or shad in our lakes, we do have shad in the Mississippi river, which I plan on making a pilgrimage to La Crosse this spring.
love your videos and all of the knowledge you bring in every one of them. We use them to help our student-anglers on our high school fishing team.
Thank you for taking time to help educate us recreational fishermen. I am 72 and used to golf but after 6 knee surgeries including both being replaced, needless to say my golf game went south (at least to my standards) and fishing took its place.
Also really enjoy your FB posts especially when it comes to you fishing with your family! Wishing you the very best this year.
I have been throwing a shakey head with a South African, or a green pumpkin candy bottom hopper worm, and have been doing quite well during March. Until the bites stop I plan to continue through April.
Love your channel, keep up the great work.
Great video. Your way of rigging the gillie I have to try. Your monthly videos always get me start off each month with confidence
I am glad you mentioned the Tokyo Rig for bed fishing... I tend to forget about that one. Especially with the Gilly!
As a Oklahoma Bass fisherman it’s very helpful to know what to use when I’m on Grand. Been following you for 25 years. Thanks for the content and your time for doing this.
Thank you for all the great tips and content. The way you convey your knowledge clicks with me. I took my son out for some kayak fishing yesterday. Man I wish I would have watched this video before we went out we may have had a more productive day. Keep up the great work buddy and thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us.
Fishing! Ponds! Pecans! Knowledge! You got it all ! Thanks for sharing all of those above. You’re the best!
Great information for us basic anglers Edwin! Much appreciated!
I always make sure I watch your monthly 3 baits recommendation episodes. I usually catch a few from your techniques/ baits. 😊
Thanks for the April tips, they are awesome as always. Best of luck on the tournament trail and be safe in your travels.
Great choice of baits for April. I really enjoy your top 3 bait videos.
Had to go back and make sure I heard Murray right. That lake is in my backyard and to get some input on it is huge. I appreciate all the knowledge you share especially about these good ole Oklahoma lakes.
Awesome!!! Love the tips. Thanks for the opportunity. Wish you would've kept the gilly tip on the down low lol it helped me catch a couple bed fish last year. Definitely a game changer.
Thanks for all the information you give for each month can't wait to get out and give them a try.
What an awesome time when they start blowing up on the frog. Can't wait to get out. Thanks for the time and work you put into your vids.
Tight Lines! 🐟
I'm in Missouri. And this stuff is just gold brother! Can't explain how much we appreciate you sharing what tons would never give away! Thank you
Frogs are a big deal down here in Florida and that rigging with the Gilly is really neat! Thx for everything you do to support bass fishing!
You’re always on point!!!! Thanks for sharing. How are the ponds coming?
Leaving out this morning, heading to south Arkansas for annual bass fishing trip, plan to try these. God is Good!
Thank you as always for the bait tips! Never thought about trying the gilly on the Tokyo rig. Good luck this year on the BPT!
Love the top baits of the month videos .. gets the adrenaline flowing to go try new baits and techniques.. so please, keep cranking out the videos..
Great tips, as always! Those baits look perfect. Have a blessed and successful tournament season.
Great stuff Edwin! I saw you fishing the Gilly in that UA-cam video and as soon as they reached my area I was on them. They are awesome this time of year but I have had trouble getting hooked up when I use an EWG through the side. Coming out the top has given me a much better hook up. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with all of us.
I'm about one month behind you in northern Ohio but your videos give me a great heads up on tips I can use soon!! Thanks man
Great information. Getting back into bass fishing and it's great to see some new techniques. Go get em' this season!!
I haven't been watching lately and dang have I missed out. I will be putting you on my schedule to check every day. Thanks for taking the time to giving tips on how to use certain baits. God bless.
I flipped a Tokyo rig in beds on Toledo Bend with a bluegill colored swimbait on it and crushed them this whole spring. It's like they can't handle it on their beds and for some reason they tend to get the hook most of the time unlike when they pick up a Texas rigged plastic off the bottom. I didn't get a double digit this year but had a couple in that 8 to 9lb range and a bunch of really solid fish. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Thanks for the tips! That Gilly really does work well! Not only beds but weed edges, docks, etc. This is a much appreciated segment each month! Thanks!
Hey thanks a bunch E, your tips always give me a fresh look at things to try! Looking forward to giving the Berkley Gilly a go for bedders.
Always look forward to the monthly videos! Going to have to try the copperhead color frog. Have never thought about fishing a bluegill bait on a Tokyo rig. That is why I love the videos. Always something new to try. Thanks again!
Looking forward to having my son and his partner try some of these baits out this Sunday in the OKHS Fishing tournament on Grand! Thanks again Edwin!
Great info. I like that I can take fewer baits that are recommended rather than lugging around more than needed. Plus; also, the rods needed to go catch them fish. Thanks for the suggestions
Thank you EE!! Appreciate your tips and videos. I'm a big fan of Berkley and Pure Fishing.
Great video thanks for taking time to share your knowledge and explaining techniques in detail can’t wait to try them out
Great info on the Month of April…love the bait selection.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thanks! ❤ the videos !
Thanks for the baits for April video! I appreciate the tips you give with the baits, it has made me a better fisherman!

Love these videos. Honestly learn something new every time. Thankful for all the tips and tricks!
It's been warm in my area, I'm looking forward to getting out and getting on the water. Great video again Edwin!
it was a privilege getting to meet you at redcrest the other month, thank you for taking the time to talk with me. I did buy some of your pecans. the creme brûlée was mine and my kids favorite. so good and I'll be ordering some more. thanks for the fishing tips like always
Love these baits. Every time I see watch these, I learn something new.
Thanks again for the info, really enjoy these even though I’m way south of you in Texas and we’ll soon close on the spawning season and notice a lot of comments north of you still in low 50’s and we’re approaching 70’s soon but I do what I can to keep your tips in mind. The tips on cranking have really helped me catch more and better fish.
Always enjoy learning the tactics from you on types of yr and lures you use
Hiya Ed, I've been watching your videos for a number of years and always get another tip to add to my arsenal.
Thank you from Northern Michigan! Up here my local lake temp hasn't hit 40°F yet... And it is gin clear. Have fun and God's peace everyone!
Down on the west side we have been catching them on blade baits, a lot darker water than up north tho. Water is about 46
Thanks for the tips on the swing head jig, i've been trying to learn how to fish that lure for a couple years now without much luck of hooking up. Can't wait to try your way of setting the hook
Thank you man keep the good worked up I watch all your videos
As always thanks for your tips! Good luck with the rest of your season!!!
3 of my favorite baits to throw year round!! I haven't thrown the Gilly on a Tokyo Rig yet, but will definitely try it out!! Thanks for all you do!

Find myself a month or so behind up here in Michigan. Thanks for the great tips. Will be using these soon!
Thank you for your great videos. I like all 3 baits you showed us in this video. I especially like the swing head jig. I keep one of those on almost all year long.
Great tips. Love the Berkley gill. Good luck this season
Thanks Edwin! Can't wait to try these baits on Table Rock or Ky Lake or Barkley!
Went out last week and got two nice bass but would love to up my game that’s why I love your videos. Keep up the fantastic work. 👍👍👍

Great content! Thanks for the tips, can’t wait to use them! Keep on catching!
Great idea with the Gilly on a Tokyo rig. Thank you for the great tips‼️👍
I will say I really struggle to catch bass when the water temperature is under 58° or so. Up in Northwestern Pennsylvania, we are not ready for the spawn yet. But by the end of the month, I can see these being big players. Until then. Thanks for the great videos telling the techniques, Baits and how and when to use them
I appreciate these videos so much. The bait suggestions are good, but the tips on how to fish them are what I appreciate most.
First I’ve heard of the Tokyo rig. Definitely gonna be trying that out. Thanks for the great advice once again
Thank you for the great advice. I usually catch fish using your tips.
Going to for sure be throwing the wobble head this spring here in Virginia in our highland lakes! Thanks for the great informative videos !
