Have a very Merry Christmas. This channel has been one of my favorite new discoveries of the year. Wish you many more years of video store success. Think it is astounding that your customers are able to rent these full boutique boxsets. Indicator certainly mixes it up. I have (at great expense) imported some of their stuff over the years. I think the boutiques are certainly stepping it up due to a small, competitive marketplace. Re-watching Sliver earlier today, I am quite happy VS gave it that treatment. The Vilmos Zsigmond photography is quite splendid. The Convent is fun and I really enjoyed seeing Mike Mendez's Killers for the first time recently. Highly underrated. Excited about those holiday horror recommendations.
What a year for physical media but what a year for the channel as well Dave! Thanks for the weekly content: my favourite physical media channel by far! Glad to hear that ‘Dinner In America’ is as much a cult hit on disc as it seems to be online: one of my favourite discoveries this year as well! As for Christmas horror: well ‘Inside’ is set on Christmas Eve isn’t it? So gimme that!
A double feature of Cauldron's releases of Top Line and American Rickshaw will put on hair on your chest. Although your chest will now be on your head on another planet, but it's totally worth it.
I've been really delighted in this past year to see a slew of Cynthia Rothrock films hitting Blu-ray with lovely editions (I'd never have expected to ever see some of them in Hi-def). Several of them had skipped DVD entirely I believe (don't think China O'Brien hit DVD here but Mr Wain will undoubtedly know definitively). I was also very pleased to see a new spiffy, beautiful transferred version of Mute Witness, a thoroughly underrated horror film and my old DVD edition was blown out of the water. Also great that The Hitcher has been given the 4k treatment. It's a legitimate, unique, masterpiece.
Star 80 is superb. It wasn't the one for which Roberts got his Oscar nomination, but it was his best performance. It's also long overdue for a Blu-ray upgrade.
Hi Dave. I watched the new Joker film. After all the feedback and bad reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect but I honestly loved the film. It's a dark film of course but I love the cinematography, the musical approach, the music and creative performances. Well done in my humble opinion. I'm interested in seeing The Outrun as well. One of my favorite films of the year is "Christmas Eve In Miller's Point" though not sure if it will get a physical media release. Happy Holidays to you. Love your channel and videos. All the best to you in 2025 and beyond.
I can’t really pick a favorite release of the year yet as I haven’t watch everything I’ve bought I need to cut the spending until I’ve caught up 😃 and it’s still to easy to watch the streaming platforms.
Hey Dave. For a Xmas Horror I was just last night watching P2 (a new level of terror) and it’s co-written/produced by Alexandre Aja. Ahh the Xmas serendipity. I’ve ordered Hard Wood, Severin doing the lords work and releasing the adult films of Ed Wood. Such a celebration in time for the centenary of his birth.
I'm pretty lucky in all honesty. At the moment I have around six or seven films that are seriously late, but it usually tends to be easily replaceable stuff. Trolls 2 and the odd kids film. Touch wood anyway...
Im still relatively new to boutique blu rays , having stuck with dvd's for longer than most. First dipped my toe into criterion, but ive been delighted with everything i've picked up from Arrow and Second Sight, they often beat criterion special features wise
Joker 2 - nowhere near the worst movies ever, but it ain't good either. For me it lands smack down to the middle (with 2,5/5 or 5/10 rating) of the ∼10000 films watched.
@@snipsmoviesI watched it at home and swore I could hear someone scream, "he's going to sing again!!!!" Not the worst. But the weirdest $200 million plus budget film
Hopefully business going decent :) its cool to see a few video stores still going! Happy New Year! Subbed
@@jreverie7018 Thanks!!
Good stuff! Have a healthy, happy new year and lots of success.
Cool video
Dead End is absolutely terrifying....you recommended it years ago and I'll always be thankful for that ! Have a great Christmas friend
I also love Dead End! I have that exact edition because the American DVD is not in widescreen.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Dave! Thank you for this channel, it is cherished 🎉
@@delbongo Thank you so much!

@@filmwolf4078 Ahhhh I LOVE P2. If you can find it anywhere, another great car park horror is Kristine Petersen's Lower Level from 91
Dave, do you ever get items non-returned and if so what’s the most painful, rare one somebody has nabbed?

Yeah, it's funny how Criterion for years were regarded as the Rolls-Royce, but now they've pretty much been overshadowed by many other labels.
STOP YAWNING....you're setting me off
