- In this video we show you the differences between the stock turbo back Golf R exhaust system versus the Milltek Sport turbo back system (sports cat cast downpipe, non resonated, valved cat back with black oval tips).
When I get my Golf R , this is how I want it to sound , simply, WOW
perfect! I have a mk7 R with a valved no resonated milltek...I've been looking for a video like this to hear a full Milltek system...WOW! Decision made....IM BUYING MILLTEK DP!
I am considering pulling the plug on this for my R. Love the ceramic coated black tips. 😮💨

@@harding_performance Bummer. I'm located in the States. 🤦🏻 How do these exhaust systems hold up over time?! I was looking into IPE but they're a little more $$ and tbh I prefer the tone of the Milltek.
@@nickelass427 With primarily 'coastal living' here in Australia, these exhausts are exposed to salty air and harsh weather, and they hold up amazingly. Good quality stainless steel used in their construction.

Wish the exhaust was more durable to pops and bangs, very common with 7R’s and performance euros. My Milltek catback cracked on one side along the welding joint, and was open/rattling in idle. Good thing that Milltek replaced my exhaust with a brand new one under their lifetime warranty, excluding my tips, which was quite nice. Only concern is whether this will eventually happen again. I think and feel as though the exhausts from Armytrix or iPE are made of better quality hence their higher pricing?...... correct me if I’m wrong?
Got I wish my car had support for miltek exhausts. They sound so good. Wounder if u could get a custom one made, that has a similar sound 🤔
I've been researching which exhaust to get, this certainly sounds the tastiest so far, but do we know the power increases for the various mappings?

My only issue with the system, I have the resonated version of this, is that the muffler tips hang way too low and look like an afterthought for such an expensive system. Otherwise it's great
Is it lower than the one in the video? I notice it seems lower here but looks OK if viewed while standing up.
@@Scythesabre It's as low as the one in the video. a big gap. I used Kartboy MK7 Hangers and it made it look much better

Hi Nicolai, adding a downpipe will also add volume to the exhaust. You may be best swapping the non resonated section for a Road + centre silencer to control the noise.
And yes, a Stage 2 tune would be required with the downpipe.
Does the check engine light come on? I’m leaving my Golf R all stock so I don’t have to deal with check engine lights.

Yes the tips are available in polished silver, black, titanium and carbon fibre.
