This should be interesting, you should have your wife try to make you in the character creator. xD
I think you might have disabled some notices in the game, because normally the turtorial will create additional hints on the screen telling you some of the steps of the next turtorial part, like that you need to contact ATC either via the quick key, or via the comms app on either your mobiGlass or in one of the ship MFDs.

In the Tutorial, there was a Helmet, in a box, that you were meant to equip as part of the Tutorial. A word of warning, it's very easy to do steps of the Tutorial ahead of when the Tutorial want's you to do them. So slow down, and do only what the Tutorial ITSELF requires you to do..

There are 3 modes: SCM, Nav QTM, and if you click down on the mouse wheel, you will have Nav Mode. Tip for you, please close hatches after you leave the ship BEFORE you store it!! LoL.
