Update: played this on switch and it's fine. No worse lag than any other game recently. (And I've an original switch). Only thing to mention is it has 2 modes - adventure and easy, so can start with everything and just mess around, or the adventure mode where you unlock things. Also the clock in game doesn't seem to matter. I basically just played until robots killed me and then woke up with full health, the time cycle really only seems to affect the farm plants growing and the eggs from chickens etc. Very enjoyable mindless game
Have this game on Switch. The only major difference that I've observed from the Steam version is the underground. The underground area that is apparently interconnected in the Steam version is closed off for Switch. You can access underground areas but any openings that would take you to the underground of another area are walled off. A lot of the time you'll find more quest items than are required for the actual quest and you end up stuck with the extras in your inventory because they can't be thrown out, so you end up having to place them in a chest somewhere so they don't take up space. Not sure if this happens in Steam as well. It is a bit glitchy in general but nothing game breaking that I've found (like enemy scan lines not showing up, trash getting stuck in mid air, falling into a pond that's not supposed to be accessible, etc.) It does give me the feel that it needed a bit more polish before being released. And like there was more that they wanted to include and just didn't have the time before launch. Still, very addictive, no-think game.
I appreciate your review, thank you. I have to be honest, as an Aussie i am kind of biased towards Dinkum. I was curious about this game and i still might be up to at least try it and see if it appeals to me, if not no harm right. I can see how the having such a big map may be difficult but i guess that comes down to personal preference. Was also wondering if there is a difficulty setting? some prefer it more easy and chill while others may prefer it to be hard, interested to know what your preference is?. Thanks again for a great review!.
No difficulty setting but once you level up your tool it’s like one hit to kill the robots. And if you die you don’t lose money or items, you just start the next day. For me it really depends on the game, and this game gave me more chill relaxing vibes that’s why the robots seemed a bit out of place to me (and thanks for asking :)) Dinkum is amaaaaaazing. For this game though if you’re unsure I’d just wait until it goes on sale.

It would be nice if I could play it. Had it in its original phase on steam lost saved data. Purchased years later on ps5 played it for days and can no longer access saved data

I haven’t played either of those! Farm keeper looks cute though, have just added to my wish list to get in the future 😄 cattails has been on my list to play for a while now, love a good cat game 😆

Thanks for the review! I'm quite interested, but sad to see there's combat, especially since it's so out of place. I wish more farming sims didn't have combat or had a way to turn it off or lower the difficulty. I still might get this when it goes more on sale (it's 20% off now).
@@LamoGaming Glad to hear it gets easier! If.when I get it, I'll be sure not to give up in the early part if combat is frustrating. I wish more devs would make difficulty options, specifically to make it easier. Not everyone wants combat in all their games.
Same! For some games I tend to turn the difficult to low so I can more so enjoy the story but still can some fun out of the combat without it being too difficult! Depends on the game

This game is very addictive and there is lots of potential to improve it if they ever make a second one.

You and me both! It does get to a point where combat is suppper easy, but I did find it a bit tricky towards the start
