Many thanks, made one and looking forward to using it on the surplus zucchinis and cherry toms. Scored the glass sheet in an oppie for a whole one dollar. The blackboard paint hint much appreciated too.
Hi Nev, meant to get back re my version of the drier. On the trial run, sunny but cold mountain day the inside temp was 65C very quickly and peaked at 70C on the oven thermometer. Thats the top for my plug in version so these are great free, non-polluting units and so easy to make. I think a second is in order to cover the crop surplus Cheers Helen
Hi Helen! That's really cool! that's one thing, they are easy and cheap to build so you can make more if you need them. Thanks for letting me know, I'm glad what I put together was of some use to you!
Thank you that was very interesting - bit late, sorry but I only just found you : ) The only polystyrene boxes I've found so far are the broccoli boxes so what did yours hold originally? Re chokos...I can't grow them : ( what's your secret?
Hey Angela! I don't grow chokoes, they grow themselves! :-) I don't have a secret, so I guess it depends on the specifics of your site. The polystyrene box was just a run of the mill fruit/veg box. The approaching you local green grocer. One of our locals has a selection out the front of their shop which they sell for a dollar or two.
