Travis, I appreciate your presenting the facts with your professional interpretation, and leaving off the hype. Your on screen presence is pleasant and I both enjoy and look forward to each and every video. Thank you!!
As a Indiana person, the big difference is the Euro has almost no snow for central Indiana on Monday but the GFS and Can has snow into Tuesday for us. This could be 4" vs 14"
Thanks. Central Indiana here and since we haven't had much snow for quite a while, it's time to check to see if my plowing guy is still in business! You are my go-to weather forecast. Happy New Year. I tell all my friends about your channel.
Happy New Year and thank you for your forecast. I live in Western Kentucky. I hope the freezing rain stays north of us. Any freezing rain brings back the horror of 2009 when we went without power for three weeks. I know it wouldn't be nearly that bad but still it's a big NO THANK YOU to any freezing rain.
Greetings from Utah. On your last video you spent some time on the WEST....loved it, hope that you will continue to do so! I've always enjoyed watching weather channels. Yours is on my list of enjoyable and reliable channels.
👍 Thanks for being honest, about not getting into this early, on if it’s gonna be snow, sleet or freezing rain in certain areas , sorry to say but alot of meteorologist gets children’s hopes up about snow and then it turns out to be a nasty freezing rain .
Same thing southeast ky won't get nothing but rain but im fine with that because a inch of snow and everyone forgets how to drive! Just like when it rains!
That’s how I feel about it here in NC. We haven’t had any snow for almost 3 years and with all this activity it seems it will still miss us, yet they are calling for lots of snow in Texas AND in the panhandle of Florida (we moved to NC from south Florida 3 years ago).
@susanbradshaw5746 broke down 3yrs ago and bought a snowblower, and have used it twice since. Live in SW Ontario across from Detroit. Not complaining but kinda miss it
Happy New Year! And I'm curious as to that last longer range prog. I'd rather see snow in Shreveport than a freezing rain event, and (as always) we are right there on the 540 line. We'll see....
I'm near the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers confluence in extreme southern Illinois and all i can say is, well crap 😂. The last significant icing event that occurred in these parts was 1-09. That's when KY. got blasted with inches of freezing rain. Now i don't expect anything like that but let's face it .5" of freezing rain can still create serious headaches.
Happy New Years Travis. in his latest Weather Bell video, Joe Bastardi did say there is one fly in the ointment in terms of this pattern. The EPO and one other factor was going to be in the opposite phase to favor cold weather; everything else was in line. I have noticed on the weather channel app the overnight low temps in my area have moderated somewhat for next week. Instead of high single digits into the high teens. Day time temps went from high twenties to the mid thirties for that same time period. Models picking up on the EPO phase?
The Central NJ snow drought continues. One of these years true winter will return. Or one of these decades. Not how it used to be in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
So it would be better to have sleet in St Louis? That would keep the actual snow levels down, correct? I can manage three inches. Anything more will make life hard for me being disabled.
It looks like 10 days of pointless cold air in the Northeast without snow. When it does do something, it's going to be rain because it's going to warm up. Man, I love when we get missed. Let the South have all that.
I live in northern va when it comes to snow storms here I’ll believe it when I see it funny how the weather people always seem to say it’s tricky to call and also why do the American models and European models differ so much who can you believe???
Agree, I do, but ensembles also can flatten significant events out too much. The chance of more than 3” in this video is ensemble driven. Just did a video showing ensemble data for more than 1” in the south.

@@Marc-nc9yv definitely want the 14 inch we haven’t gotten a decent snow storm in some years last decent one in 2022 December
As a Hoosier, I agree that we haven't had snow worth anything in a very long time!
10 bucks says all the snow just dances around West Tennessee
@Cicada241 the Carolina's are in a horrible spot for snow.. you're on the coast and have mountains to your west. Move to Minnesota lol
@@TFY-v8l there was never a chance for west Tennessee to get snow out of this system
@@braytenr2185 i meant throughout this whole pattern
WYA?
100.00 it just dances around

My son and i have been praying for a good snow here in Philly. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Happy New Year to you and your family Mr. Travis

You do a great job at explaining the weather. Thanks brother. Go Lions 💥💙
Thank you for not beeing another SNOWMAGETTON kind of channel, good information and your willing to admit that anything 5 days out is just guessing
Yay! A good weather guy in my algorithms!
Excellent job, Thank You for the possible heads-up
Happy new year thank you for just the weather

I walked outside, damned near blew away...50 mph winds behind this last system. I'd hate to be an empty garbage can today.
😂🤣
Same thing southeast ky won't get nothing but rain but im fine with that because a inch of snow and everyone forgets how to drive! Just like when it rains!
So many times the warm air wins
Usually does.
It's looking like the great lakes are going to keep us from getting a good dumping of snow. Again. Damn lakes.
It absolutely sucks for us on NW Ohio....we don't get lake effect and storms love to go south of us.
We're always on that snow/rain line. Front yard has 6 inches of snow and the back yard is flooded
It's almost laughable at how this storm is missing my area here.

I'm really glad to do winter down here in Florida 😎...😅
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Travis! 🎉 best wishes for you and your family... greetings from central IN 🤗

Great forecast Travis!
That darn cold air is pushing the front down. I want snow for Michigan it needs to be about 100 miles north. 3:47
I hear you. It's almost laughable what a sharp cut off there is.
@ that’s what I was thinking.
Am in Eastern Tennessee, do not want ice 😮
It has ticked back up north ugh 😩

These models better shift another 150 miles north 😂 here in mass this stupid cold air is keeping it south, we need snow up here
I pray no snow for alabama
@goreanlady806 no ice!!!! Memories of last year's ice storm is still fresh. Stuck at home for a whole week!
I like your forecast because it doesn't contain a bunch bs.and hype.
My little spot on the NY/Pa border shows 1.5”. I will take it!
What are the chances this storm trends a little more north to northern Ohio?
Man I like seeing that 12 in over Luray Va ……bring it on
Haven’t had snow in VA since 2022
it seems like the models have backed off the SUPER cold for a majority of the country? What the latest on how this cold will come in?
So it would be better to have sleet in St Louis? That would keep the actual snow levels down, correct? I can manage three inches. Anything more will make life hard for me being disabled.
What do you think the potential of snow or ice will be for Charlotte, North Carolina?
Typically what do the weather balloons do? how do they help with tracking storms?
Thanks for the update. Is it possible to use that empty blue box on lower left to describe which model you’re animating? Thanks again.
That’s actually a very smart idea!
lol dances right around CT 😂 big snow hole
Travis mentions 6z run, 18z, etc…. What does that mean?
Zulu time, GMT. It is the time the models were created. 6:00GMT 12:00 GMT, 18:00GMT, etc
I live in Central Ohio and I still think we will dodge this storm
Hope the models shift it up into Northern Illinois
Same here, it's still not on land yet so there's a chance it shifts just a hundred miles. If we both turn our fans on pointing north we got this 😂
Same, except I'm in the northern half of Ohio 😂
@@northwestohioplanesandtrains13same here😂
😴 from NW Ohio...storm won't impact us.
Im going to PA 6-10! Will i see snow????
We need snow in Wisconsin. Only two snows so far and couple flurries.
It will shift north yet
A northern snow storm what's new?
So is a last minute northern trend out of the question?
Of course, the snow will miss NC once again. What a surprise....
It looks like 10 days of pointless cold air in the Northeast without snow. When it does do something, it's going to be rain because it's going to warm up. Man, I love when we get missed. Let the South have all that.
I'm about to eat crow!!! Ughhhh never pans out for Charlotte north.😊

Did office politics also have anything to do with your leaving ??
No. I was at work all evening while kids were home. Personal choice that was hard, but best for us.
Ct sees nothing from all of this?
You need to be showing the ensembles deterministics it doesn't tell the whole story
Agree, I do, but ensembles also can flatten significant events out too much. The chance of more than 3” in this video is ensemble driven. Just did a video showing ensemble data for more than 1” in the south.
Waste of cold air, no snow for southern NY and southern New England for the next 15 days
We'll never see winter like we had back in the 70 - 90s. Climate change and the Atlantic waters bring too much warm air.
Absolutely nothing for NYC
ALL THESES STORMS OUT TO SEE POLAR AIRMASS ALWAYS PUSHES IT OUT.
Its just snow not the end of the world … lol
