Beautiful car. We have a 2016 X 90D with the MCU2 upgrade, but a late year vin. We have the unicorn combo of FSD and Unlimited free supercharging. We just went over 100k miles and have similar battery degradation around 235 projected at 100%. Really prefer the original interiors to the newer refresh. We did install an aftermarket automatic frunk(should have come standard in my opinion). Still love my car like the day it was new.
@@BrianCanon car guys talk about their cars with one another, often highlighting interesting or unique options and configurations. For example the Titanium Metallic color of the X in video was only offered in 2016 making that a 'unique' property. My car on the other hand has a fairly unique combo of free unlimited supercharging and full self driving that was only available in the last qtr of 2016 and the first qtr of 2017. If you don't find that kind of stuff interesting that's ok. I guess your not a car guy.
@@shannonlawhorn1674 Like I said, IF you want to tell us car folks about it make a video so we can see it and hear everything. Otherwise you're just trying to stroke some unicorn horns that ain't matter none to nobody out here. And stop it with that sexist "car guy" stuff!
I have a 2017 90D FSD … 127,401 miles with all upgrades but no ventilated seats or heated wipers. It’s holding up very well. Love the leather, wood and chrome. Battery has degraded 5.6%. I drive in all conditions, supercharge on trips and always to 90% at home. A great car, both fun and relaxing to drive.
This was really interesting. At a dealer near me, there's a 2016 Model X P90D with about 16.5K miles (not a typo) on it going for $38K. My initial thought was, the mileage is too low to be real and must have been rolled back, but I don't even know if that's possible with a Tesla. Looking at the pics, it looks immaculate, inside and out, so maybe the mileage is accurate and somebody just kept the thing in a garage somewhere and didn't drive it. Really tempting. Anyway, it was nice to see your walk around and hear you talk about the car, what you liked and didn't, and the things you've had to pay to fix. Battery degradation isn't too bad either, considering age and mileage. Is it me, or are the OG MXs a little bigger than the newer ones? Maybe it just seems that way.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Did you buy that MX P90D? In my experience when things look too good to be true they usually are, but I'd get the VIN, run it thru carafe, and see what Tesla can tell you about it, as it should have free supercharging for life. That said, I don't think legacy MX' are any bigger than new ones.
Since your battery degradation held up pretty well I’m curious how have been your charging habits? How often do you charge on superchargers, do you charge till 90% daily?
Thanks for watching and commenting. We charged to 80% for daily driving and supercharged for roadtrips. Since Dove has free supercharging for life and is located ~10 minutes from a very under utilized supercharger, that is now our primary method of charging.
Thanx for the review. We have a 2015 Model S the exact same color. Love the car so much I've been looking at Model X. I was checking the ole school hip hop too. My era.
Beautiful car and name. I had to look it up when you said the date he passed as I thought it couldn't have been that long ago. Feels like yesterday to me.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Congrats on your MX. We still love ours after 6yrs and 130K+ miles. Ventilated seats have never worked great, but they are good enough to provide some relief on hot summer days.
Hey @EV_OG! I own a Model Y which btw no regrets an amazing car. I am currently in the market for a big three row EUV. These are my contenders, 1) R1S 2) Model X 3) EV9 4) EX-90 Which you think I should go for?
Thanks for watching and commenting! Congrats on a great list of contenders. I would eliminate MX given your need for 3 rows. MX 3rd row is by far the worst of this group. R1S and EX-90 should be in a similar higher price point, so EV9 could be the best value. EX-90 will take the longest for delivery. Good luck, you really can't go wrong with these options.
Thanks for the video. Could you give some insight on charging speed? I’m looking at a very similar vehicle and keep hearing how slow it charges. I’m thinking people are too impatient but would like your input py
Thanks for that very informative video! I came across your video because I actually just purchased a used 2016 model x a few days ago. I was curious about the upgraded MCU chip. So I’m happy the upgrade meant you were able to stream Hulu Netflix etc… but I was wondering if the upgrade gives you sentry mode? Because my car doesn’t have it and I’m pretty bummed about that. Also wondering if that upgraded chip gave you anything else that you didn’t previously have access to that the newer teslas have? Thank you in advance! 🙏 😁
Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope to earn your subscription if you haven't done so already, Congrats on your MX. The MCU upgrade primarily improves UI performance. It does not add feature. 2016 MX does not have the camera HW to support Sentry mode.
Just want to correct @EV_OG that 2016 MX can have the camera HW to support Sentry mode if it's built after Oct 2016. So any Teslas built after Nov 2016 have at least HW2 which is upgradable to get Sentry mode if you upgrade to the MCU2. It is also upgradable to FSD and Tesla will replace all the cameras and the chip to support FSD if you pay for the upgrade. But again, those things are only possible if it was built after Nov 2016 because that was the time when they switched over to HW2 and provided an upgradable path.
@@danielhau4954 Thanks for watching, commenting and sharing your insights on upgrading. Unfortunately Dove was delivered in April of 2016 so likely not upgradable.
@@EV_OG Dove is still beautiful and has unique characteristics with the colour and active spoiler. If you enjoy driving and avoiding pot holes, you are not really missing out on FSD.

Shannon make a video about your car, or put it up for sale.. otherwise I don't think your unicorn matters so much

What range are tou getting now days?

Why is the spoiler is down they supposed to be up

Early MX performance had an "active" spoiler which is better than the fixed spoilers on all newer models.
My OCD got extremely triggered by the door handles misalignment on the passenger side lol
