I prefer Whose Line to this because in Whose Line when someone says something the other performers have to reply to it and build on it, which is the formula for how improv is meant to work. In TGYH, only the guest performer goes into it having to make it up on the spot, while the show regulars have scripted bullet points they have to hit. This restricts them from playing true improv, and often forces them to deny what the guest said, making the guest's responses utterly irrelevant to what happens in the scene. They ask the guest a question, the guest tries to come up with a clever answer, and then they ignore that answer and correct the guest, saying "no it was actually this…". It's a LOT funnier if you have to take what they said and run with it.
Wow....same sketches as the Australian ones but I definitely don't find the UK one as funny (IMO)! I had no idea the UK version even existed until now! lol Such a shock seeing Hamish on there! lol
um, there is no improvization involves in this. all a performer needs to do is see the British OR the American version and they would know the premise of the skit and have time to prepare once they saw the costumes
Im sorry but is this a show for the actors knowing the story or an improv, its like oprah interviewing. asking a question then keeps talking. i thought uk was funny. im so cringing.
This was a train wreck, shame for Hamish to be wasted on this.
I love it when Clive says "I could've been a judge!" and then can't fit through the door! Quality idea for a costume!
"WE'RE CLOSED!!!"
They kept cutting Hamish :( Still easily the best at it tho.
I should say that I thought Australia is the only one who could do this show right. This was very impressive. Cheers for posting.
Clive definitely deserved the win, he owned his improv roles, in my opinion, Hamish was close second.
wow this isnt even close to as funny as the aussie version
"i could have been a judge"...lol...ohohoho
...and such a costume...i'm shivering with laughter...
hamish shouldve won. best end scene ever!!!! love it, hope it returns.
You know what i rekon they were all really funny. Great ep. I think the Aussie one and the UK version are so close you couldn't call it.
I love Hamish
I would have broken character. What a cast
Should have gone to the Aussie, he was best.
'I could've been a judge...' little Peter Cook reference there?
im glad he won! he was the best really
hamish deserved to win
uhh...quick question where is the judge. in aus we have a judge to decide the winner, not the host
Ha! How do you figure that?

dunbar9finger
I agree.
The Australian version works better, Ed Kavalee in particular was great at improv among the cast members
i reckon clive was right to win, he has true class (:
Clive all the way, he is just so natural at this (:
Hamish !!
this episode has been done 3 times by now. i'll bet these guys have even seen the original skit
Did Michael Mcintyre Not Hsve His Own Sketch Or Have I Jus Skipped It Sumhow? Cuz He's The Only One Im Watchin It For :) Reli Funi Tho xxx
how do they know hamish over there?
If you watch the whole series, you realise that they don't give the same performer a trophy twice, Hamish gets one later.
clive is having fun
lol clive is the pun king
gotta love hamish blake
These never work when they just ask them what they did. They need to draw out longer responses.
i think Clive deserved to win. He has the best wit!

OK Clive took that skit out, but I gotta back the locals. WOO HAMISH!
Well im australian. i found the UK Thank God very similar, with similar humour. It's the american version that just isnt the same.
Hamish should have won!!
Clive Anderson is awesome...
Clive Anderson Fucking pwned that sh*t
Also an australian her,e i think our version is best, but UK is right behind, and both much better than the ameican version
they didn't give hamish a chance to be at his best during this skit
well thats what i think
Michael McIntyre hilarious too

haha you are funny.
Clive Anderson really pwned! I didn't think much of the others, and poor Sally Lindsay, who I fancy like mad, seems out of her depth!
What a shame. Vietnamese version is doing so well :">
this is exactly the same as the australian one! they even had the same questions!!!
This one wasn't funny at all. shame
hamish so should have one pommys dont no funny if it hit them in the face!
not as good as the aussie one
agreed, the american version isn't as good.
Michael McIntyre redefined cringe for me...
None of this was funny.
Im sorry but is this a show for the actors knowing the story or an improv, its like oprah interviewing. asking a question then keeps talking. i thought uk was funny. im so cringing.
