Dude this was the video I needed having the very same issues. Put a primary belt drive on and did not have to pull the sprocket BUT WISH I HAD!!!!!!! O well that's how we learn, by taking shit back apart lol. It was a tolerable drip but my stator just burned up so i guess now is a great time to do it. Thanks bro and your video was really good.

@@Badwolf6466 it went great thanks to your video! I have it all back together but thank you for the offer. The james kit I ordered did not come with the shift shaft seal, did yours? No biggy picked one up from the local HD dealer but would have been nice to have it included. Also good info on the square o ring behind the sprocket spacer it could be easily missed with out the proper info. I also replaced the crankshaft seal for all those with belt drive you need to install it reversed to keep oil in, I never read anything about that when i did my belt drive. This was on my 95 bad boy just fyi. Thanks again Robert

Good deal. I went through heck with mine and couldn't find much info or videos on that part of the transmission. plenty of primary videos but nothing on what I needed. That's why I made the video short and just on that part of the job. Ride On !

Thanks this video helped I found a lot on changing everything else out but I need to change the seal and race my race walked in enough that the puller won't fit so gonna try putting the big nut on and using ladies foot bars to see if I can walk the race enough to get the puller on it. I'll let ya know how it goes

Good Video. Thank you for doing it. How did you get that small shaft seal out? That is where mine is leaking. I am planning on replacing all of them since I have the primary off and 72,000 miles on the bike.

I have a really small screwdriver but it has a strong shank. I slightly drove it in under that seal lip and pried it out.

2:41 of your video. My inner race walked the opposite side towards the clutch basket. So i drove it in using a pvc and the clutch nut which worked great. However how does this affect the alignment of sprockets and the outer race inside the clutch hub? Ty

I have a little tiny work horse screwdriver. I get pretty rough with it sometimes. I hammered it in a little and pry. I do a lot of automotive seals that way. They make a seal popper for automotive but I find it to be iffy because it can score the shaft. On cars I use the same method but a regular size flat head. Drive it in at a slight angle, Then pry seal out while pushing the tip of the screwdriver away from shaft to not score or scratch it.

Im in the process of replacing a seal that seats over the inner primary bearing. At least i hope so since it leaking primary fluids and it snot from the gaskets or the drain plug. Ty so much for the tip.

What is the tool called that is used to remove the race ? Where can I buy one. I am about to do this job on my 2004 electra glide.

Its called a bearing separator. I bought the cheap one from Harbor freight. Make sure to buy the warranty because there tools are cheap. www.harborfreight.com/bearing-separator-and-puller-set-62593.html

Robert Anderson thanks. Learning as I go. I have the same leak as the video shows. While I’m at it, I am changing the final drive gear from stock 3.15:1 to 3.37:1.
Next upgrade will be 509 cams.
