Good design, reasonably priced, practical
Citroën understood the assignment
A very good step in the right direction. While range of 199 Mi/320 km WLTP still is on the low side, you won't find any other EV with this kind of range at this price point in Europe. The Dacia Spring only manages 145 mi/230 km WLTP and with generally worse specs overall at the same price point. For people who don't do any longer trips by car, this will be a steal.
This car looks stunning. It's cheap for an EV and the exterior, interior and new badge looks great! Definitely on my consideration list.
In order to get this video for the release date we had some extra early access, and therefore some of the UK-specific pricing elements weren't quite nailed down... Head to the link below for all the latest details! www.autoexpress.co.uk/citroen/c3/361261/new-citroen-e-c3-packs-199-miles-range-under-ps23000
Amazing it’s exactly what European manufacturers have to do to compete with China - bring out cheaper cars !
Best looking Citroen for many years, I like it.
Imagine the efficiency if this platform was actually put in a aerodynamic design
It would also be 5000 to 7000 more expensive. They cut of all extra empty space from this car….
@@haukionkannel why would a smaller, more areodynamic car be more expensive? Just make a smaller hyundai ioniq electric with a bigger better integrated battery. Perfect.
@@JohnLasseter-ct5in Airodymamic means normally, slimmer. a car that has slim front and slim end. Either the car has abysmas small interiors, or that the car is longer to have same inside and still slim nose and tail... And being longer, means normally bigger and that means more expensive.
Look small cheap cars. Mini... (not airodynamic), WV beatle.. not very airodynamic and so on.
Aka if you end the car where people sit down. It is not airodymamic. You need a lot of space before the people and after the people to make car airodynamic. Just look Tesla model 3. The car nontinue a "long" distance ahead of passenger seats and after passenger seats.
@@haukionkannel good explanation
Quite like this car but those little plastic inserts on the outside would last 5 minutes maximum...totally stupid idea
Just can't wait for a test drive to buy one
I always love Citroen for the nice suspension ride and those soft cushion seat.
Great car !!! Long live Citroen and Stellantis !!! Best regards from Germany.
Looks nice. Also has hints of VW t-roc about it😊
Good design and very Citroën; it seems Stelantis are letting them get some of the brand's mojo back. Majoring on what they were always the best at for the price - comfort. And, traditionally, dividing opinion on the looks which some people will never 'get.'
That's how it should be, there's plenty of run of the mill 'same old same' old for those who want to buy something with styling that's safe/bland/predictable and that's good. This car will do well.
Does this completely replace the ice c3 or is it sold along side it?
Does it have liquid coolling or is it with air coolling like India e-C3 version?
I've driven the Indian version of the eC3 here in Indonesia, and I can say that this car has amazing ride quality. Though ours has less range, interior is a simplistic but still intuitive to use, and it still has normal keys to turn it on; no keyless (yet). I wonder this Euro version is better, since it has more range and I assume it has different but similarly "Citroen-ish" suspension characteristics.
Your indian C3 is in fact a Chinese copy of Dacia Spring with small changes. The European C3 has a different shape, size, motor and battery.
@@danielcolceru3840I already know that, these eC3 are completely different than the usual ICE European C3. Also both eC3 (global or EU) are on the same platform, have you seen the shape of the doors? Its very noticeable
So the Stellantis Smart Car Platform is basically a re-engineered PSA PF1 (which dates from circa 2000) for the Asia / South American vehicles. So like Dacia with the Spring it has been europeanised a low cost platform so entry level models can be sold at reasonable profit. Interesting to see what NCAP results will be achieved.
Regards the Dacia Spring there will be a refreshed / updated model in 2024 so need to wait patiently for a comparison.
Not direct competitors. The Spring is an A-segment, while this is a B-segment like the Sandero (at least 30 cm longer).
si la misma que usa el 208 y opel corsa en la actualidad
It looks good. I just hope that it will still be under £23000 when it goes on sale in the UK. The EV B-segment needs a good shakeup. eCorsas that cost almost as much as a Tesla M3 is a hiding to nowhere.
Can it be delivered with a tow hitch?
This will without a doubt become my first ev if nothing better comes along before its released that is.
Thank you, Citroen. Well done!
Isn't this a restyling of the Brazilian C3 with an electric powertrain?
Yes i have the indian C3 which is almost similar to this
Not quite but with them both being Citroen the are a few similarities, the same way that Indian Dacia Lodgy are different to European Lodgy.
@@grahamjohnson4702yes but the body line similarities are too much. Also all the press confrence in india was hinting at a single platform which will be used everywhere. Anyway it doesn't matter to cutomers in countries like india because they are never getting these cars, only a built to cost imitations.
The Indians have different requirements for their cars to other countries.
Funny thing is, I am from India, and I was really interested in the Indian C3 until I saw the European C3 in France, which has a way more beautiful design. Surprised to see Europe ditching the current design philosophy and going for the more rugged and boxier design.
it depends on the actual selling price, many ads for cars were made with a lower price and in reality they had a higher price. if it has a starting price of 20k-23k I'm seriously thinking about getting one, In Ro, the state aid is 13 k E, so the car would be worth between 7-10 k E
sell me one for 1k profit, for 8k euros
Next to a 3 feet tall guy that car looks huge!
Does it have apple car play?
This is a good 2nd car of the family, but I would never buy it as a primary vehicle. With small kids, and a number of road-trips every year, waiting for an hour or more on a sub-par charger every 150 or so km (AC or heating running, highway speeds 120-130km/h), while kids are crying is not something I would look forward to. And on a typical year I make at least 2 trips of 1.000+ km (each way, so 2.000+ km return trip). I can still do this even with the cheapest petrol/gasoline car, but I'd need a high-end EV to make such trips ok. Until battery technology and charging infrastructure improves, these cars are for people who do not travel, or who do not mind stopping frequently for an hour while traveling.
Time will tell how reliable it will be. For urban driving it is more than adequate. Its lower performance will hopefully offset the added cost of insurance . I like the idea they offer a gas version and hopefully the manufacturer had that in mind ?! The C3 can be converted back and forth between Electric to gas or vice versa ?!
This is how ev schould be built in Europe. It shares costs with combustion alternatives and most importantly does not weight milion tons.
Outside not too bad, inside horrific, reminds me of an 1980’s Panda
? I belive, you don´t know the `80 Panda..........😏
That dash is too damn high
Nice small car but I prefer ev where battery(CATL) is not from China :-)
like?
"no rivals come close to that sort of [price/mileage] ratio" - what about the new Dacia Spring?
Dacia Spring isn't even close. Smaller, shorter range, less tech and most importantly - no fast charging.
And only a 4 seater.@@sebastiansandvik825
I just bought a 3 year old Kia e-Niro 4 for under £20k which has 4 more years of warranty, has everything you need plus a 280 mile range - why is everyone still saying affordable EVs don't exist?
Because somebody paid the full price for a new one.
ICE niro was 15k cheaper when new you plonker
Wow 200 miles impressive😂😂
fab good looking car..chinese beater...go Citreon
Can't wait to sell my 2017 530xd and buy this with the same amount of money...
this is the new citroen 2 CV.
Styling cues from Vw (rear more Up) and Suzuki giving another lack lustre brick on wheels.

This car is proper ev than citroen india
Its also much more costly
Thumbnail says £22k, video title says £23k, narrator says £20-22k - Make your mind up
Not the best designed of cars and the range is still risible. Same price and a realistic 400 miles and there will be promise.
It will probably be another 5 years before that is possible.
@@Saddex I don’t doubt it.
Dont like the new/old citroen badge. Looks cheap and tacky on this car.
The Indian version i saw doing a range test had the usual badge integrated into the bonnet. Looks waaay better in my opinion.
Economy was around 4.4 miles/kwh, which would around 180 miles real world range at lower speeds in summer.
It doesn't have a HUD. The instruments have just been moved so you see them by looking over the steering wheel rather than through it.
Still, it looks like a great city and middle distance commuter car, with longer journeys possible with patience and a badly needed improved charging network.
Good price point if it can be achieved.
A slightly lower roof would improve range as well. There looks to be some scope for lowering that roof a few centimetres.
Look like t-cross
what tesla should have made 5 years ago
So the Citreon Oli was created for this ?! What a disappointment
This EV uses a cheap Chinese battery. Maybe it's the main reason for its low price.
So the car may cost £1000 per 10miles of range. I'm sure there are already better value on the market.
the new badge is ugly
The design comes from the Indian model and refers to an SUV. It does not have the beauty of the counterparts of Stellantis Group, such as the Peugeot 208 and the Opel Corsa. Sorry but Citroen design goes from bad to worse.
🤢 no sorry
Zero rated NCAP death trap.
Is there a petrol version of the new C3? I'd much much much prefer that. EV's are garbage.
Looks awful!!! Interior is ok maybe the petrol version will be better shame the aircross will now be a 7 seater!!!!
What an ugly citroen logo
1) It is not affordable
2) All tech is old garbage
3) Too low specs for such a heavy car
4) Too little space for such a big car
5) You're welcome
@@angeldb2502 - Yes, maybe they should hire me.
Its amazing mindblowing great!
@@brunoheggli2888 - No, it's not.
11 seconds to get to 62mph and top speed of 83mph. No thanks.
Thats good enough for me!
This car is not worth more than 10 grand....in China you can buy one with this specifications...
One part of the readership running down Chinese cars etc. and the others telling us what we can get from China,
Does the Chinese car go through the same rigorous NCAP testing and have all the "safety " features required by European law built in?
Those electronics cost a list of additional euros, which is why cars in Europe cost so much more. Unfortunately.
Dacia left some of the safety features off its current model Sandero, relating to automatic braking if the car detects pedestrians or cyclists emerging in front of it.
The price is lower because of that, but the car got marked down to a 1-star NCAP rating as a result.
Note that driver and passenger safety is still quite good in the Sandero.
Not as good as a big SUV, but more than a 1-star rating.
@@francisdoran971 yeah one chip and some software costs more than 20.000 cmon its a rip-of and 10 years ago the study i found Iphone cost 160$ to make...sold for 1200$
And with the cars its the same
@@francisdoran971 The NCAP ratings are a farce now, only out of five for all those different safety sections. My expertise is the only rating I want.
Another dreary poor performance EV 😴
Should be launched this vehicle design and interior design in India with mt and Amt around 9 to 12 lakhs on road price . Would have been a great hit in India
