  • I built a real tree house in which you can live all year round. In each episode, we improve and complete it. In this series, we have installed a new oven and updated the lamps.

    My OCD kicked in as soon as he laid the first sheet of metal over wood chips and dirt. And then again when he used the coal powered chain saw to make it look like a rabid beaver chewed a hole in the wall to make the stove pipe hole larger. Other than that, awesome tree house.

      I have OCD, and that is a misuse of the meaning of the disorder. It's an anxiety disorder with obsessions and compulsions. One has an obsession that must be followed by a compulsion that relieves the anxiety of said obsession. For example, washing your hands until they are cracked and bloody because you're so afraid of germs, or needing to turn a doorknob three times to make sure it's locked, but if the handles jiggles, you must begin the three count of turning all over again. It's highly anxiety driven. It is not just people who like things to be clean. However, my misophonia was triggered when he was eating on camera and I could hear him chew. I am also an RN of 27 yrs who is state certified to teach classes on mental illness, so yes, I do know the true definition of OCD and its symptoms, not just because I have it.

    Wow this is absolutely pretty neat to watch , I own a 2 story deep dug out with 6 big rooms , I use telephone poles that I bought from one of my friends work , a new neighborhood ordered them & later stopped order once they wanted to put telephone cables under ground , I bought 300 ,100 foot poles just before the covered them in creosote so they were bare wood , I used a wood protector on all of them after I cut each one before I put them in place now my daughter wants me to make a tree house & I think I,m going to do that next spring , I have plenty of wood left over from the dugout to do so & there are big oaks white & red close to my dugout were I can make a tree house on my 10 acres of land .

    I know this is just a nice retreat from time to time but you really should leave a one inch gap between your heatshield and the wall it's protecting and the floor below. It provides a convective effect between the wall and shield pulling excess heat from the wall rather than conducting it straight to the wooden wall. All around decent build man. Keep up the hard work. Cheers from the east coast of Canada!

    • @maxsdad538
      @maxsdad538 Рік тому +2

      Then how come conventional construction doesn't have that air gap?

    • @aaronmurphy2599
      @aaronmurphy2599 Рік тому +5

      @@maxsdad538 it's becoming the norm here in Canada. If you have wood heat in your home, most insurance companies won't insure the home unless a W.E.T.T certified technician signs off on it. That gap is one of the many regulations that technicians must follow. Cooling air is pulled from the floor, up the wall, as the warmer air between the shield and wall rises.

    • @aaronmurphy2599
      @aaronmurphy2599 Рік тому +2

      Ok but seriously the willingness to pay to have limited temporary access to something that takes no real significant recurring cost of upkeep is what's put us in the situation we are. We need to *stop* being ok with rent-seeking behavior and instead own reasonable property and possessions, and more importantly, own the means of producing things necessary, for our own survival. Imprison all landlords. Distribute land to the people who will live on it.

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 8 місяців тому +2

      @@dregenius On the positive side, projects like this enlighten people about how little we humans need to live well, and be comfortable and contented.
      We are all so busy chasing money, possessions and status symbols, we lose sight of what really creates a good quality of life - not big houses, fast cars and designer clothes, but good relationships, work which feeds us, body and spirit, and of course basic home comforts like a tasty meal and a warm bed.
      These young men built and maintain every aspect of that tree house with their own hands. They even cook their food from scratch - no cheats convenience foods! They could teach the lazy McDonalds generation a lot - sadly most twenty-somethings today can barely wipe their own a$$! Respect where it's due.

    Such a nice cozy tree house. I see you switched from incandescent bulbs to LED. However, if those LEDs are running on typical 115 volt setup, you are wasting a lot of energy. Switch to low voltage bulbs and don't use a 115 volt convertor, if that is what you have. Low voltage LEDs doesn't have to be converted from a higher voltage to run them safely. And that means you are not wasting energy in the conversion effort. Just an idea to save energy... Thumbs Up!

    Evet size 👏👏 Ancak bu bir SURVİVOR değil lux tatil. Öncelikle tam bir marangoz gibi gelmişsiniz. Tree house içi çok modern ama çatı amatör ve zayıf. Soba borusu dışarıda bir yere sabitlenmeliydi, zira fırtına çıksaydı koparıp atardı. Bu kadar marangoz malzeme varken bu büyük hata, tree house yanabilirdi. Burada elektrik değil gaz lambası, mum vs kullanılmalıydı. Gazlı ocak yerine odun ateşi kullanmak yemekleri çok lezzetli yapardı. Tahliye kapağından odun külleri atmak ise 🙀🙀 Tüm bunlara rağmen çok güzel bir ağaç evi. Sert hava koşulları ve yabani hayvanlardan uzak korunaklı bir ortam. Tek eksiği (madem el ve bulaşık yıkama yeri var) minimal bir wc. Sizi kutlarım ve başarılar. From 🇹🇷👏👏👏👏👏
