Her career never needed saving, she sold 1 million copies the first week of her previous album Speak Now. I'm not sure why you think her career needed to be saved?
I feel like it didn’t save her career, but it was absolutely pivotal to making her the pop icon she is now. Going from Speak Now to 1989 would have never worked. It would have come out of nowhere, and with little pop music in her pre-existing catalogue to justify the change in genre. I Knew You Were Trouble was inspired by the rise of dubstep. We didn’t see Taylor dive into pop because of fleeting success, we saw her venture into pop because she has always been an experimental artist that doesn’t stay in one spot musically. red is SUCH a masterpiece and periodT. it's the kind of album that its so beautiful and cinematic that you can picture every single verse and live the heartbreak though them too UGH
Red is still my number 1 favourite Taylor Swift album. It came out during my final year of middle school. I love it so much because of its carefree appeal and adaptability to dance pop.
I had her debut album, loved it and would catch songs here and there and enjoy them. I didn't become a true Swiftie until LOVER. that lead me into her past albums and the obsession was born. RED is in my top 3 (Rep and 1989 have the tops spots). This album is such an emotional journey. It also shows her first step towards the pop world. Can not wait until tomorrow for RED TV.
Other than the colours of her emotions she also named it that way in a sort of tribute to Joni Mitchell's Blue album and because she was inspired by it so she decide to name it with a colour like Joni did. I think with ATW she get the recognition she deserve especially with that grammy performance back then i've seen a lot of celebrities praised her for it, it became such an iconic anthem that made her stand out and recognizable, also because of the mistery ten minute version! She managed to keep us intrigued all of this years and finally we can hear it! Also part of her success is indeed due to her relationship with us fans, thats why she has such a loyal fandom that make her free to explore new genre, cause we trust her.
I was wondering why Taylor named it " RED " ...!! I don't listen to alot of her music but my 2 favorite of hers are " Shake it off " Bad Blood " ....she's a great singer and I'm glad she's getting her masters back. #GOTAYLOR
Shake it off and bad blood gurl what those songs bad blood hated on in the swiftie xomminuty and shake it off is a shakes ur ass song go listen to speak now or folklore babe
She named it Red because of the emotions the color red represents! I.e bold, jealousy, love, anger. Red is always the strongest emotion, weather it is happy feelings or sad feelings. Red Taylor’s version comes out tonight might eastern time. Please stream it on Spotify. Make sure it’s Taylor’s version because that’s the longer and best version. ❤️

Arguably my favorite of her albums since it came out. Every song just gives something so good and so different from the other songs on the album. All Too Well just might be my favorite song...ever? From her? I'm beyond excited for the 10 minute version. It makes me sad Speak Now didn't do well, since it might be my 2nd favorite album. Though I haven't liked her newest albums very well (Reputation onward), she'll never leave my playlists, and she'll never lose my respect as a songwriter. She's such a good lyricist, and it's inspiring

I'm kinda glad i waited for the full version of All Too Well to finally listen to her songs. Def a good song that I will come back to listen every now and then.
Definitely will be listening to Taylor’s Version of Red. My original favorite was the song Red but the new 10 minute version of All Too Well is replacing that previous favorite.
Her carreer never went down hill in speak now, yes it wasnt as succesful as fearless in both albums and singles but if we compare its album sales to its competitors back then its fairly impressive not to mention it has a ton of weeks at no. 1 in bb 200 and also had a huge tour, but red is the album that further introduced her into pop.
Speak Now? Failure? Never in my life i will hear someone said it. Its her first album to sell 1mil a week. Winning 2 grammys for Mean. She wrote the whole album by herself with 0 co-writer. For me ReD was her first try to step out from her country root and show her versatility in music and how she can evolve as an artist. Most importantly Speak Now was THE ALBUM that made me a swifties.
What do you mean the album that saved her career? There was nothing to save, she was at the top, she is at the top and will continue being there for the rest of her music career. I think you should change the title of this video to RED: the album that made Taylor greater than she already was.
Bruh Speak Now was basically my core childhood album I grew up with! Hearing that it wasn’t as successful or popular as her other albums makes me mad bro like THAT ALBUM IS SO NOSTALGIC TO ME I CANT- 😭😭😭🤚 it holds a special place in my heart
Guys, calm down. Speak Now is my fave, but in my country, Cyprus, nobody knew Taylor before Red was out. It didn't have songs like Love story or Shake it off, that are massive successes. I knew you were trouble, was worldwide known.
actually the reason she choose to have no cowriters for speak now was because some critics said she wasn't writing the songs. So she decided she would prove that she was the ones writing the songs.
This is a sign that Speak Now will be a mad success when it turn to be re-record. Y'all just wait, Enchanted will be the next 10 minute version of All too well.
Here from the future (11/12/21) and Red *(Taylor's Version)* somehow made a classic and timeless album even more special and timeless. The 10 minutes version of All Too Well and accompanying short film are even more gorgeous than imaginable. ❤️❤️
Red saved her career in the sense that she would be the Taylor swift we know now. Speak now wasn’t as big as fearless plus it was a decline in sales compared to it. And since she mixed pop and country in red it allowed her to easily switch to pop and become a global icon. Also it was red that gave her the first number one hit album and by far the most memorable album to date
Her career was already on top, she doesn't need anything to save her career, she is a career, an icon, a mastermind and a masterpiece of a woman in business and as person.

RED definitely is broke tha boundary between country and pop, revolutionizing the sound of country music and normalizing incorporating pop sounds to country sounds that would still be considered as a country genre.... few examples are tracks like Cruise, body like a backroad and meant to be and taylor definitely paved the way for these type of tracks to thrive
Speak now wasn’t written by herself because she didn’t have anybody on hand to write with, it was because she had been looked down and said her success from her past was due to other writers, so she went and proved them wrong, making an album that she wrote entirely by herself.
Red did not save her career but It was a very pivotal movement for her. Like the finest bridge, the album made Taylor's transition from Country to Pop went smoothly and it worked. It would be too jarring to jump from Speak Now to 1989. I also feel like Red is the beginning of her multi genres awakening so without it there is, probably, no 1989 to evermore and hopefuly, we could get a rock album in the future. State of Grace is still a perfect example of Taylor's capability to nail a rock genre.
Red is undeniably epic, but omg speak now is what made her career take off, at least in my country, we got to know her because of that album and it went number 1, in Brazil, as soon as it came out !!!
What a headline.. The album doesn't save her career.. It was HER POWER MOVE AND HER MIND, AND HER ABILITY TO BE VULNERABLE.. THAT'S WHAT SAVE HER.. SHE SAVE HERSELF.. THEN COME THE ALBUM. WITHOUT HER, THERE'S NO ALBUM. ✨❤️
I don't think she ever thought that Speak Now as a let-down. Its a massive hit, sold over a million copies in its first week in US, won 2 grammys & many critics ALREADY cited her as POP-MEGASTAR after its released. So, i DON'T see WHY ur saying that Red's the album that 'SAVE' her career..(in fact, her career NEVER need any saving at all coz its keep blooming with EVERY albums she's produced, even the rerecorded albums) IF u take ur time to listen to ALL Taylor's album as in released order, u WILL immediately notice her music evolution. She doesn't follow any musical trend of that moment, she CREATES the trend & IT IS the music industry that FOLLOWS her trend..
speak now wasn't a failure... yes it wasn't nothing new and it wasn't a aoty like it's predecessor but still was huge and she wrote the entire thing by herself and she got hits from it, but yes she started to reinvent herself with red and that gave her career a new boost
It’s crazy to me that red is her 4th album. Country isn’t really popular outside of the US, so for like 5 years I believed Red was a debut album and we are never... a debut single.

I am excited to hear State of Grace, Red, Holy Ground, Everything Has Changed, The Lucky One, and Better Man
I had her debut album, loved it and would catch songs here and there and enjoy them.
Red got me into her music. It's the first album of hers I actually bought and listened to in full. I'm excited to hear the new version
The Joni mention. Huge inspiration of Talyor's and we're all blessed for it.
If Joe Alwyn ever broke up with her, she would name her next album Blue 😂
@@fosminclorin hahaha probably or Golden 😂
I was wondering why Taylor named it " RED " ...!! I don't listen to alot of her music but my 2 favorite of hers are " Shake it off " Bad Blood " ....she's a great singer and I'm glad she's getting her masters back. #GOTAYLOR
This just proves ur not a fan she bot getting her masters back shes just rerecording so she can get master of her songs
@@parkernotahoe Sis shut up, not all of us are going to be jamming to All Too Well or Folklore/Evermore and that’s valid because we’re all different and have different music tastes. Just let people like what they like and stop gatekeeping and telling others what they can like or not like. 👋
@@parkernotahoe will you pls shut up and be a welcoming swiftie! Thats what Taylor taught us not to hate!
everyone is listening to red taylor's version
i am glad that i able to listen to this masterpiece
and listened to new songs!
i loved all too well ,ronan and nothing new
waiting for speak now !!
Red tv out tomorrow!!!!!
!!
Speak now will forever hold a special place in my heart. I do not think it is a bad album at all but I will say that red did put her on a different career path
Speak now is a huge masterpiece, I love how that album sound all together.
Speak Now sold more than 1 millions copies in its first week what do you mean by saying it didnt do well. And do you seriously not like folklore and evermore?!?!?!
@@hassanmansour9857 I was going based on what she said about it.. That's good 1st week sales. Wonder what flashy was talking about.. I like about half of folklore. Seven is the only one I listen to regularly, though. I haven’t heard all of evermore yet, but I really should have said Reputation and onward-
@@hassanmansour9857 speak now did nothing for her career.
I'm most excited for ATW 10-minute version, Stay Stay Stay, and Holy Ground mostly. The last 2 are very underrated songs! I hope they get more love on the re-recording! ❤️
Love her version of Better Man on the re recording
I love most versions of Taylor, especially that dark pop wave, delicate, wildest dreams, & so it goes are my all time faves
WE ARE LISTENING
I'm kinda glad i waited for the full version of All Too Well to finally listen to her songs. Def a good song that I will come back to listen every now and then.
Definitely will be listening to Taylor’s Version of Red. My original favorite was the song Red but the new 10 minute version of All Too Well is replacing that previous favorite.
Speak Now was a huge success tbh. Here in the Philippines, her songs like Mine, Enchanted, Speak Now, and Sparks Fly was all over the radio.
I am so excited for tomorrow when RED Taylor’s version is finally out
red is an important album, in transition to her pop image and sound
Speak now was a masterpiece and her best album to date
Yesss... Its just so sad how umderatted it is 🤧😭
I never noticed she was “falling off” at this point. From my POV She was at the top of the world and had a massive fan base
Yeah but Speak Now didnt have the longevity or massive hits that Fearless had.
Speak Now?
She’s always been at the top of the charts why would she need her career to be saved
Speak now never had the longevity or major hits that neither red or fearless had.
eagerly waiting for RedTV 🧣❤️
I actually remember hearing “I knew you were trouble” for the first time I thought a was a remix of one of her older songs.
Cant wait for RED TV
Taylor Genius Swift's career was NEVER in danger, thank you.
Actually it was
I'm always so exited to see what Taylor is going to do in the future because it's always something different, she is reinventing herself all the time.
Ironically RED was rejected by Nashville yet is her best album ever.
LIKE EVER
Taylor Swift's career never needed saving. Red just made even more huge.
"Saved" is the wrong word. More like how her career exploded.
What do you mean the album that saved her career? There was nothing to save, she was at the top, she is at the top and will continue being there for the rest of her music career. I think you should change the title of this video to RED: the album that made Taylor greater than she already was.
She wasn't on top during speak now
Bruh Speak Now was basically my core childhood album I grew up with! Hearing that it wasn’t as successful or popular as her other albums makes me mad bro like THAT ALBUM IS SO NOSTALGIC TO ME I CANT- 😭😭😭🤚 it holds a special place in my heart
Her career didn't need saving. We, Swifties, will always be here for her. Red TV made her career skyrocket to the moon.
Guys, calm down. Speak Now is my fave, but in my country, Cyprus, nobody knew Taylor before Red was out. It didn't have songs like Love story or Shake it off, that are massive successes. I knew you were trouble, was worldwide known.
Not for me to say which album saved TS's career or if it needed saving at all. But I love the album, Red. I loved it before and I still do today.
actually the reason she choose to have no cowriters for speak now was because some critics said she wasn't writing the songs. So she decided she would prove that she was the ones writing the songs.
This album is a very close second(1989 being my #1 ofc).
Nothing it’s gone like ‘Tim McGraw’ I’m DYING to hear it re-recorded
RED TV is getting more attention and promo than folklore evermore Fearless TV. RED is Taylor's favourite child even today
RED is her fav
Her career never needed saving, speak now was and still is very successful. It's more successful than many artist's peak album
so true
Unpopular opinion:
Speak Now > Red
Her career was already on top, she doesn't need anything to save her career, she is a career, an icon, a mastermind and a masterpiece of a woman in business and as person.
She wasn't on top during speak now
@@takemyhand1988 how did her speak now album end up as a nominee at the Grammy's then?
@@takemyhand1988 she literally sold a million copies on her first week of releasing the album.
@@takemyhand1988 speak now also won a Grammy btw, not only that but several other awards. That's pretty top tier to me.
@@varshauppalapati4581 compared to fearless speak now was nothing in success or popularity. The grammy noms were for country categories, she got nothing in major categories. The album only had 1 week of big sale compared to fearless who had consistency the entire year
Red may be the album everyone thinks saved her but speak now was the one she was most proud of and that swifties are most proud of
2:22
*and will you still want me, when I'm nothing new* 🥲
shocking that thee Taylor Swift actually felt this on Speak Now era
Really loved this album, my fav after Speak Now...which probably made my love country music.
In fact the original is like 24 minutes long I think, but I’m pretty sure that didn’t go further than a rough demo or just lyrics. I think the 10 minute one might’ve had a recorded demo but was shortened to the 5 minute that was released 9 years ago.
Saved her career? Didn’t know her career was ever in jeopardy.
the reason why i think nothing new should’ve originally been a track on red 2:12 - 2:42
But speak now was her first album to sell 1 million copies first week… won 2 Grammys… and while not having a top 2 had a top 3 lead single…
It's based on comparison. Fearless and red had massive success that speak now looks like it underperformed
I’am so excited for Taylor’s Swift Red TV I been a huge fan for 3 years since a year Reputation came out I’am mostly excited for State Of Grace, Red,All too Well Treacherous Holy Ground, Sad Beautiful Tragic, Everything Has Changed, Starlight and Begin Again The Moment I Knew, Come back be here and new songs too those were my favorite songs from Red I love all of them so excited for tomorrow and tomorrow is my girlfriend’s and I first anniversary We’re to Red Robin’s tomorrow and I got so many beautiful gifts for her gonna be the best day ever 😊😊 have a great day everyone
i still don't understand why she skipped Speak Now TV..
I hope that it is next to be re-recorded, that album is a masterpiece 😍
okay imma be honest I only watched the first like 15 sec of this but anyways olivia and conan love my babies
Don't you have something better to do?
Taylor is one artist that doesn't need her career to be saved
RED definitely is broke tha boundary between country and pop, revolutionizing the sound of country music and normalizing incorporating pop sounds to country sounds that would still be considered as a country genre.... few examples are tracks like Cruise, body like a backroad and meant to be and taylor definitely paved the way for these type of tracks to thrive
No she didn't. Shania Twain did it two decades before Taylor
Saved her career? You're nuts she's a musical genius.
Why are you angry? He said Taylor herself saved her career. Isn't that how it should be?
Speak now is my favorite
The title offended ME!
Speak now wasn’t written by herself because she didn’t have anybody on hand to write with, it was because she had been looked down and said her success from her past was due to other writers, so she went and proved them wrong, making an album that she wrote entirely by herself.
Please make a video where Speak Now is the main focus
Speak Now is my fav era….AM I ALONE IN THIS?!
A summarize of all the comments by me: Taylor doesn’t need Red. Red needs her
i cant wait for begin again
Red is undeniably epic, but omg speak now is what made her career take off, at least in my country, we got to know her because of that album and it went number 1, in Brazil, as soon as it came out !!!
speak now is her best album
What a headline.. The album doesn't save her career.. It was HER POWER MOVE AND HER MIND, AND HER ABILITY TO BE VULNERABLE.. THAT'S WHAT SAVE HER.. SHE SAVE HERSELF.. THEN COME THE ALBUM. WITHOUT HER, THERE'S NO ALBUM. ✨❤️
Anyway, stream THE MAN💪💪💪
I am wondering why Taylor re-record RED first rather than Speak Now after Fearless??
I don't think she ever thought that Speak Now as a let-down. Its a massive hit, sold over a million copies in its first week in US, won 2 grammys & many critics ALREADY cited her as POP-MEGASTAR after its released. So, i DON'T see WHY ur saying that Red's the album that 'SAVE' her career..(in fact, her career NEVER need any saving at all coz its keep blooming with EVERY albums she's produced, even the rerecorded albums)
IF u take ur time to listen to ALL Taylor's album as in released order, u WILL immediately notice her music evolution. She doesn't follow any musical trend of that moment, she CREATES the trend & IT IS the music industry that FOLLOWS her trend..
speak now wasn't a failure... yes it wasn't nothing new and it wasn't a aoty like it's predecessor but still was huge and she wrote the entire thing by herself and she got hits from it, but yes she started to reinvent herself with red and that gave her career a new boost
ok but, literally speak now has like two grammys??, I looove that album, and yep, RED changed everything!
Do yourself a favor and change the playback speed to 1.5
Not Speak Now being my fav Taylor album
Love red and Taylor!!
Great work!! Will you please also do a video essay on lana del rey? 😍
It’s crazy to me that red is her 4th album. Country isn’t really popular outside of the US, so for like 5 years I believed Red was a debut album and we are never... a debut single.
YES OFC. ALL TOO WELL.
