These guys adapt to each other very quick alls they have to do is know what system he uses and they adapt to higher or lower octaves
Not really..anyone after Marty grew up with these riffs and has learned them at one point or another...just subtle things probably and then they practice untill they cant get it wrong.
Kiko's soloing is so clean it did my laundry, my windows and even the floor

Mate, a true Megadeth fan inherently knows. I spent 3 entire weeks, 20 hrs per day learning Youthanasia. Lead , rhythm, and all solos. And that was back when you had to buy the sheet music, you couldn't just pop on the bloody Internet and download it. I miss those days.

I could watch this stuff all day, it's as entertaining as live concerts, but more... "close" to them and theese are just rehearsals. Amazing!

I absolutely agree. Obviously we know a lot of work goes into the show before it happens but getting to see the process has been extremely entertaining and informative. It's also nice to see some of the crew guys get the spotlight because we certainly take them for granted.

Love how Dave has each player sing through each other's mic. That way everyone knows what each player hears/doesn't hear and no one ends up being louder than someone else...

It's more about "No matter where we are situated on stage, we can still sing the choruses. Make sure you got enough of others' vocals in your in-ears so you can manage yourself." FOH mixer will handle the balance to the audience.

Main riff for Symphony of destruction is unlike anything its heavy, has a grove, to me it has a personality that I can’t really explain and it’s very simple.
Love that song on the Live in Argentina video.
Kiko is a massive contributor to Megadeth and its legacy. Thank you for this transparent view into the hard work invested into making the shows successful.

Looks like Megadeth is one of the few bands from that era that still sound good ...and can still play good.
Unlike some of their "peers" they don't mail it in just because they've already made Bank.
Megadeth still works hard to get things right because Dave is pretty darn meticulous and he cares about the performance and wants the people to get what they paid for... and Kiko and the guys are all on point and you can tell they care almost as much as Dave B-)

We gotta thank our lucky stars that this man joined this band. I absolutely love all the behind the scenes stuff we get spoiled with, way more than most bands show!
also holy shit does Dirk have the coolest job in the world. Playing in one of the sickest bands of all time and having that birds eye view at the shows while absolutely slaying the drums must be an amazing feeling.
I like how they even practice their stage antics and moves.

This video reinforces how much work it takes to maintain the edge on these songs. Megadeth's music requires serious musicianship and technical ability. There are no shortcuts and even great musicians like these can't just mail it in.
That Poison was the cure solo is probably not the easiest Marty solo having to learn

Was awesome getting to hear them as I’m one of the sound engineers at this rehearsal studio. Got to assist the crew from time to time as well. Surreal moment having one of the greatest bands of all time rehearsing not far from you all day and night for over a week. Not to mention Lamb of God rehearsing in another room at the same time.

I saw Megadeth a number of times in the late 80s and into the 90s. I will never forget how wild the crowd would go as soon as Dave walked on. It was like total love and respect.
Hearing Kiko talk about having trouble memorizing parts makes me feel better

This is a gift. When I’m at a concert I like to get side seating so I can see behind curtain as roadies set up. It’s just as entertaining for me as live show

i was in the first line of the audience of your concert in Shanghai in 2017. That was my best moments ever to see my Gods in front of me just 3 meters away. 5 years passed so quick. Hope all goes well with Megadeth.
Dave's new Gibson flying V looks and reminds me of his Jackson Y2K era V. In my opinion this is megadeth's best lineup they've had in a long time.. since rust in peace era. Everyone's jelling and firing on all cylinders. Glad to see Dave back and healthy... sober and cancer free. Not only is Dave an awesome guitarist and musician but he also has a knack for finding amazing musicians. Kiko is pretty talented and seems like a down to earth humble guy. I'm glad Dave surrounds himself with like minded, positive musicians with no distractions like partying or ego's anymore. Myself, a recovering heroin addict and alcoholic, have come to realize in sobriety and in life that you are a product of your environment and if you surround yourself w/ positive people you will have no unnecessary drama and can focus on the things you want to accomplish... in their case, music.

@@recipoldinasty His lead playing personifies his aggressive and haphazard style. It’s that style that open up vast amounts of doors for many Thrash Guitar players, and at least he does not putts around with the Wah Wah pedal all the time!

I knew james even before that when he was in Rondinelli with Ray Gilles before white lion or badlands. He let me ride his speed bike think it was a Honda hurricane in the studio parking lot which was gravel dirt ....I almost wiped out and slid into on coming traffic in first 30 seconds. Gave it back in 10 more seconds. Good times . 1984 Long Island NY rocked.

Dave is extremely perfectionist. And all the band are amazing musicians.
There was an interview with Dave Mustaine around 1990 discussing the Clash of the Titans tour. IIRC, Dave said that Slayer were drunk/high and their playing was all over the place, but he was proud that Megadeth was a tight machine.

I am 39 now...I would fall asleep to these albums when I was a kid on my Walkman, now my son is jamming to this on his drums... Megadeth opened up my young mind, great LYRICS!!! I am still addicted to this day!!! MY SOn Lennon is a crazy FAn!!!! He can totally be a guest player at 11 years old...

I saw them a few weeks ago. It was probably the best sounding, and mixed live metal show I've seen. You could hear everything.
Kiko, outstanding look into rehearsal snippets with you and the rest of Megadeth! Sure wish I could have seen more of Dirk (sitting on his perch, lol), however... I don't see the band on tour either in Baltimore or DC, hopefully, I get to snag tickets to see you guys in Camden or sometime next year in Lisbon. These guys are professional and above. It amazes me how Dave plays these leads and sings. For fuckin decades now! Dave is underrated. Metallica is not even on the same plateau.

On the contrary, genius, he is praised as being one of the greatest metal songwriters, guitarist, bandleaders, and lyricists in rock history. Just because you like to throw out a term "underrated", means very little when you have nothing to go on. This term is so overused. I am overusing it myself (right now). But I never say someone is under-rated. Because who am I to make such a claim? When someone is one of the greatest in their field, how in the world could they be considered underrated. It must be by YOU.
For anybody wondering, they sound even better live with the drums all mic'ed up and what not, if you could imagine that being possible. Just saw them last night at Jones Beach Theater and had a great time. Very impressed with the new line-up, Kiko's solos were so clean and precise, and my man Dirk killed it on drums. It goes without saying that Dave is a living legend. There, I said it. \m/
wathcing the show with Kiko using a Gibson and a Neural Quad Cortex is going to be amaaaaazing!
The guitar tone on Peace Sells is so crunching and close to the original recording that makes me smile :)
Not only is the music practiced, but the movements on stage are rehearsed as well. I love seeing that too. Also, good on Chris Adler recommending Dirk on drums and calling him one of the best metal drummers today, because that is true.

É por coisas assim que eu digo e repito tocar os solos, os riffs de um artista são coisas da prática, é totalmente possível, com dedicação. No entanto, a historia tem que ser respeitada, Kiko não está nesse nível, apenas por ser um excelente instrumentista. A mentalidade é algo totalmente fora da curva. Olha essa estrutura, o respeito dos caras e o profissionalismo. Você é foda tesouro!

É inspiradora a dedicação de todos os membros da equipe, principalmente Dave que trabalha como um diretor, muito profissional, muito focado.
Depois do show pronto e feito as pessoas não tinham noção do trabalho da preparação, mas agora Kiko colocou luz nesses momentos valorizando ainda mais o trabalho. Um trabalho de Marketing genuíno.
One thing that always struck me with Daves playing is how much gesticulation he does with his fingers whilst also maintaining his speed. Something that I've noticed I've picked up on and had to tone down to move my speed up to the next level but when it comes to the riffs, just adds so much more aggression helps complete the song when playing along.

Minneapolis, September 28th, can't wait. After 18 months, shows are back! I Saw GNR & Mammoth (WVH - that kid has pipes!) in St. Paul yesterday. Mind blowing. The place was packed, audience just shy of rabid! You guys are up next!
