Hello Judy. I was keto/ carnivore for a couple of months. But I started having some abdominal pain. I had an ultrasound, and my doctor said that I have a gallbladder sludge. She suggested me to stop eating fatty meat 🍖. Is it normal to develop a gallbladder sludge with the carnivore diet or is it that the body is getting rid of the junk? I started feeling better when I was keto/ carnivore, but a couple of months later, this issue resurface. Keep your great work. Greetings from Houston.

Mom & i are doing carnivore. Today makes one week. I feel fine.
Mom had a stroke last September 2022. She uses a Walker and still has some speech issues and lack of energy. I know it’s only been a week but her energy level is lower than before starting. Today I got her electrolytes for her water. We eat twice a day till full.
She is on BP medication and has psoriasis. We skipped her taltz injection for her psoriasis because she wants to eliminate the psoriasis from her body doing carnivore and get off her BP meds. Is there anything else I need to do for my mom. She is 81 years old….help

Thanks Judy. This is so helpful. I started carnivore in May (16) and just had bloods done last week. My A1C on Keto was 5.3 and I am 5.7 now. TC is way up and LDL as well, which I expected. But - my trigs are DOUBLE what they were, now 164. That does not mesh with your (very near my own) numbers. I have been eating butter and butter-bites, but I had fasted 21 hours before bloods (except coffee with hwc). I feel great on carnivore and am going to back off the butter and high fat a bit - I find that protein is so filling and needed better fat intake.

According to Dave Feldman...He is becoming an expert in cholesterol for keto & carnivores, you fasted too long. Do not fast more than 14 hours for bloodwork especially cholesterol measurements. Getting bloodwork closer to the 12 hour mark is best.

I think your coffee with cream before your bloodwork messed up the results. It's better to go in fasted. No more than 12 hours. And no physical exertion the day before, either. Also, if you're dehydrated, that can change the results as well. 😐

Thanks for this. Just got my results back and the Doc was very concerned and added meds to my list and now the wife is upset and going through the I told you so list. After a year of carnivore, I kinda expected better in some areas (297lbs down to 183lbs is good), Doc is rescheduling another workup after I have had time to take my statins (I am not going to be taking - have not felt this good in years). I have a new Doc (I am in the military system - and always getting new DOCs), he did not ask anything about diet, so I did not mention, I think I should have. Also, I left out the fact that I had 3 cups of fat bomb coffee (butter n salt), because I forgot about the blood draw (that afternoon).

At 13:40, Judy brought up the significance of thyroid function in relation to fatigue. Throughout the day, I experienced tiredness until I decided to reduce my sodium intake, which surprisingly rejuvenated my energy levels. Interestingly, I stumbled upon a comment online and later came across a video by Dr. Berg where both said that excess sodioum can cause fatigue. By the way, I've been following a 100% carnivore diet for approximately 9 months now.

Hi Judy- I would love to see you address Adrenaline Dominance at some point. I tried carnivore for 10 months, and while my blood markers improved, my CAC is a wonderful zero, and my hair started to grow back (yay!), unfortunately, my sleep, energy and weight did not. I am Adrenaline Dominant, according to Dr. Michael Platt's book, and my sleep got worse on carnivore.
A certain percentage of us really need to pay attention to glycogen stores to be able to sleep through the night (I still wake up at 3am needing a snack pretty much every night) and for general blood sugar stability. Maybe you could interview Dr. Platt? He's been making the YT rounds lately. Maybe? Thanks! :)

It actually does help a lot Judy- especially seeing that your A1C & fasting glucose numbers aren't super low, they're average & that's good. I hear people saying they want to see fasting glucose always in the 70's, or A1C under 5, etc.- mine are similar to yours, so it's reassuring that you're not concerned either. I realize it's all in conjuction with other markers, but I think we sometimes get caught up in chasing certain numbers, when our bodies are all so different. Not to mention the normal fluctuations, plus it's one specific day's blood draw & so forth. Thanks for sharing🙋‍♀-Sammy in NV

    short comment/question.
estimated avg glucose at 105 is surprising for the fact that yudoon't eat any carbs. That means you have spikes of up to 130/140. I would investgate that. What is your fasted glucose after depleting glycogen stores? With very high LDL, even sightly higher gucose is dangerous.
Second, an more important, 2 key parameers are missing: homocysteine and Lp(a)., especially since for MCV is towards the higher end. yu mcould be seriously deficient of folate. For proper folate in carnivore, you would to tak 20+eggs a day. With very high LDL, even sightly higher HCys is dangerous.
you may have 2 risk facors for oxidation of LDL, so if HCys is higher than 11, you may want to have a LDL NMRR size profile

Judy have u checked your insulin levels specifically? Glucose may be high due to gluconeogenesis which can also cause fatty liver as a result of the insulin response. The carnivore community must be aware of gluconeogenesis. This is why it seems there is no need for carbs but the body is producing its own glucose via the liver. The effect of prolonged gluconeogenesis are always negative as insulin is produced in response. Specifically long term it leads to liver, kidney and cardiovascular damage. Not sure if Judy is willing to do an unbiased show on gluconeogenesis and its effects over time specifically in the carnivore community. It appears no carnivore proponent is willing to delve into this vital topic at all, preferring to avoid it entirely.

Just went to the Dr today and was advised to stop the Carnivore diet because of raise in cholesterol. One point she made was true carnivores eat raw meat and that is how you get the total nutrients, but we cook those out nowadays. This is a question that has entered my mind before and does worry me. I am 69, started the carnivore year and a half ago, lost 40 pounds and then put 10 back on from cheating off and on. I'm healthy with no meds or symptoms of arthritis, no gut issues, I just use it to lose weight. What about adaptation? I agree we are eating seriously bad food these days but except for short periods of time in my life I have stayed pretty close to natural foods. I like the carnivore diet, but if we are cooking the meat are we really getting all our nutrient needs met? I am going to post this question on my favorite most respected carnivore influencers on youtube. Dr. Shawn Baker, Dr Ken Berry, Dr Chaffee, Dr Alan Davis, and Nutrition with Judy.

Hello Judy, and followers! We need your help, can you consult for a baby? Or any advice? Or to any and all who might take the time to help my baby and I, please advise.
I found carnivore a few years ago. I read The Carnivore Cure, The Carnivore Code, Toxic Superfoods, The Great Plant Based Con, The Big Fat Surprise, Sacred Cow, Stay off my Operating Table, Hard to Kill, The Fertile Feast, and many more. I am amazed at the health benefits fatty meat provides and rather upset I spent 40 years of my life trying to limit it and prioritize plants on my plate in order to 'Eat Healthy'. I wish I knew this when I was young! I have made a massive dietary shift towards carnivore (but still have cheats now and again.) I just had my first child, Eva Lee, 2 years ago, at the age of 40 while eating primarily carnivore. I want to give this baby what I never had, a chance at true optimal health right from the start, and to learn the truth about nutrition. I have fed my baby a Carnivore diet since she started eating solids at 7 months. Before that we were breastfeeding, and we still are morning and night. At one point in the beginning of my breastfeeding journey, Eva Lee wasn't gaining enough weight. Turns out she had an undiagnosed tounge, lip, and cheek ties that hindered her ability to draw out milk and downregulated my milk supply. I had to obtain donor milk as a supplement to my own breastmilk and worked very hard to reestablish my own supply. She did start to edge up in her percentile after we began supplementing, however she did not gain a significant amount of weight back untill I began feeding her meat and egg yolks. It made all the difference. So many people, including my own immediate family, have complemented on her 'comeback', but then when they realized that she is only eating animal based foods, and has never had a fruit or vegetable, criticize me and sometimes verbally attack me for my method as they assume Eva is malnourished from lack of plant foods. Even my husband, her father, has warned me that I could give her heart disease by feeding her too much fatty meat and egg yolks. I am not concerned as I know that these foods are the most nutrient dense foods on the planet and they dont cause heart disease, however to calm everyone down, ease their fears, and stop the family arguments, I called my pediatrician to request a complete lab health panel for Eva including a standard health lab with lipids and inflammation, along with a nutritional panel that would represent eurethrocyte (intracellular) vitamin and mineral levels. The pediatrician said these tests are not preformeded unless there is medical necessity and also that a nutritional panal doesn't exist. What can I do? Where can I go? I want to prove that Eva Lee is as healthy on the inside, as she shows by her vibrancy on the outside!? BTW, Eva has surpassed all her cognitive markers by miles! Several ppl including my grandmother and mother who have several kids as well, say she is the smartest baby they have ever seen. And, according to Dr Cywes, Cognitive Milestones are a reflection of nutrition as the brain requires a significant amount of saturated fat and cholesterol for optimal development. But this doesn't seem to be good enough evidence for my close naysayers. Please help us!

Thank you for going outside your personal comfort😢 zone to share data.
    It was educational and informative.
I pulled out my labs and again reassured myself that ketovore eating has really improved my metabolic health.
My highest triglyceride was 162 in 2010. The two years as ketovore 56 and now 50! My Trig/HDL ratio dropped from 2.57 to current 0.52👏👏👏
Sugar and grains give me abdominal pain, diarrhea and anxiety. I periodically experiment and am now convinced it’s better to eat my bacon when others chow down on sweets.
Kelly Hogan promotes carrying ‘purse bacon’ great idea on your way to a celebration. One sandwich bag full is so yummy.🍳🥩🥓🧈

Very low carb for four years. All bloods normal. Trigs low, HDL high, LDL very high. Have had arrythmias and waking up with thumping heart at 2am since Jan. ECG unremarkable. Introduced 4 slices of bread (42 gms carbs) per day and all cardiac and sleep issues vanished. So the zero human requirement for carbs as proposed by Prof. Bart and Paul Mason may not be entirely accurate for everyone.

For all the low carb high fat all meat diet people.....ask for 2 test...check your Lipoprotein 'a' levels and apo-b levels these are considered the genetic heart disease markers. These 2 test can determine if you should be eating the all meat diet. If those test show higher than normal range.....avoid the all meat diet or you might risk getting a heart attack or stroke.

When I started the trigs where almost 150 I thought 88 was pretty good still looking to get it lower. It has continued to go down on the last 4 blood tests. The total cholesterol has fluctuate from 290 to 260. Before carnivore it was I believe 197. So I believed it was a big jump as to why my DOc stated I needed a statin Asap,.

Yes we run GI Maps all the time. Regardless of mine (It's probably not fair since I take probiotics once a year), but we see diversity all over the map with carnivores. It's not a consistent stool test look from eating carnivore. Your gut flora is impacted by much more than just diet. e.g., stress, water, the people's flora you spend time with.
