- I set a personal goal this spring to ride my KTM Adventure 990R at Evart single track this year. I rode as much as I could this year to practice up for it, but didn't really have the confidence to attempt the big 990 at Evart until recently. So I went out and gave it a try and it was Amazing. Most fun I've had on two wheels in a bit. The 990 is still my favorite bike! I think this may be the end of my 2020 riding season besides some random winter rides. I'm really proud of my progress and technic for only being back on a bike for 1 year. Thank you everyone for the support, hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it, and have a good day!!

You got me wanting to take my 1090R out there!!
lets do it! I'm about 2.5 hrs so I can usually make that ride on any weekend. Let me know!
@@AdventureJeff269 Deal!! I'm about the same distance.
Ill be at missaukee junction sunday, ill be on the yz though!
@@AdventureJeff269 I may be able to join...Thoughts on my using Beta X-Trainer (300 2 stroke) or my Beta 500 4 stoke?
@@RJvidmoto xtrainer 300 if your looking for most fun of the bikes you listed!
Love the vid! Glad you silenced the critics and took the big bike out there. I can't wait to do the same on my AT, thanks for the inspiration.
Big bike on small trail might be the most fun cycling i have done!
Wow!! Very impressive. Excellent skill demonstration.
I dont know about all that, but I did my best! Thanks for the kind words!
Awesome. Your crazy! Looked fun until the sand lol 😝
Even the Sand was fun! you'll love it eventually, you live in Michigan. You have to. lol
@@AdventureJeff269 2 years and i still don’t love it...
@@wmrider_adventures well see. lets get a big bike ride in sometime on some easy ORV stuff.
Nice job. Big bike like that on those trails is no joke.
Thanks! It was great fun and good practice for technic. All my mistakes were amplified so I noticed some shortcomings ill have to work on.
Good Video Jeff!
Thank you!
Very good one Jeff, guessing the guys in the lot thought "he will be circling back right away". Guess no excuses for not taking my 690 out to Evart ST now that you did this. Now do this with the GF on the back.
I think you are exactly right. Thats what I would have been thinking until this weekend lol
Im not sure I could manage another 100lbs on the back lol
@@AdventureJeff269 be happy she is that small could be 200#
Very true! Might have to throw a little more preload on the rear to get my sag right. 😉
Love the way this thing sounds!
Its the best. In real life it sounds like Armageddon behind me! Probably the comment it gets the most. People love the Big V!
That was me and my buddies around the 10 minute mark. We talked in the parking lot after. Glad we found the video!
Yep definitely remember you guys. Firing up the grill making everybody hungry!
My uncle was thinking of riding a TW200 here. I'll have to show him this! I think it'd be funny to see who can get the most "ill suited" bike through Evart lol
A Tdub will cruise right through. Those things are unstoppable!
I’d argue it’s more rider than bike.
Small world that’s me and my buddy in the beginning of the video in the parking lot. What trail map app are you using?
White Silverado? Nice meeting you guys. I think we pass each other about 11:40 mark in the video if your with that group.
@@AdventureJeff269 before that actually 0:34 when you first got on the trail
Ah black truck. I dont know if we met. I dont know if we passed on trail either. Maybe we went same direction. What do you think of Evart?
Sorry I forgot about this. I use Osmand+. Its not super user friendly, but it has all the features I require.
@@AdventureJeff269 hey Jeff I’m Brandon’s buddy. We went the opposite direction of you, we were wondering if we would pass by you at some point but never did. That bike is a monster and sounds soo good, even better in person lol.
Next time I'll go with so we can have some more fun in the sand pit
Little less wheelspin next time, with a touch more speed and shes up. Also might drop a few psi. Maybe I'll carry the compressor and air down just for that real low.
What year is the big girl, I'm looking at a tricked out 2010 990R.
2009 990R. She's got a bunch of goodies too. Akros, intake and delete, PC with auto tune, SPS respring and valve, as much weight of as I can stand to remove, LED everything, tail tidy, soft bags, motoz. I'm not sure what else off top of my head. Let me know if you have any more questions and thanks for watching!
What tires are you running? Took my 790R to leota with stock tires and it was a complete sh!t show. trying to figure out a tire for michigan sandy single track. thinking motoz tractionator rallz.
Motoz tractionator desert H/T. Im on tubes so I air them down a bit. I went 20psi front/18psi rear. If I had carried tools and a spare tube, I would go down to 18psi front, 14psi rear at Evart. Might help hook the rear a bit more and float the front better in the powder sand.
@@AdventureJeff269 how are the desert h/t's on the road? they seem like the tire to get for michigan sandy singletrack. I just worry about loosing to much on the road. Im in midland btw.
Im from kzoo. I street ride them a decent amount this is my second set of H/Ts. First set I had a tube let loose in the rear at 80mph going north on 131. Lol they had 5k miles on them and still had a bit left for pavement. I would say they were about useless offroad at that point except maybe hardpack.
The street manners aren't great. They do corner decent, but they don't feel confident while doing it. They are very noisey and if your on pavement alot, I wouldn't recommend them. But my 990 is setup for almost off road exclusively. Very stiff suspension and valving for offroad, the tires, the low windscreen that im gonna cut even more. Its just not super fun at 90mph for hours on end. But I still ride it around quite a bit, I'm just willing to sacrifice street manners to have an offroad happy bike.
24 miles on a 990 ...in the middle of deer season? ..i would be staying at home.
And thats why no one will remember your name. Lol
