I plan to ride the Nevada BDR route to Vegas sometime this summer/fall and have been doing research to plan for the 700 mile trip. I have my bags, bike, and gear pretty well sorted since this ain't my first rodeo, but would love any tips for cool spots to stop and sleep(tent only), cool views, must see spots along the route, and of course good food. Added in some other footage I took from Rock ...

I had the red one 2000 ...man those wete the days..
what details can you give the punters on the radial brake conversion?
What is a punter? And what details are you looking for?
R they zx12 forks and brakes/year/any mods 2 fit
Ok. I understand now. I think I explain it in a video with more detail if you want, but I'll give a quick break down here.. I bought a 2005 zx12r that had body damage and swapped a bunch of stuff to my A1. -2005 forks, with brake calipers. -I ordered new 220mm rotors for an A1 model even though the 2005 rotors are 200mm. -purchased machined shims to shim calipers off the fork mounts 10mm to match larger rotor radius. -purchased 10mm longer titanium caliper bolts to accomodate caliper shiming. -purchased CoreMoto SS brake lines that color match the bikes green. There's tons of other stuff on the bike from the 2005. On rear I did the swingarm and shock, caliper with upgraded rotor and SS lines as well. Stole the newer radiator style and fans, clutch mods, and a few more things.
BTW, OG who watches your channel.... Kroger. 👍😜
You are for sure OG, but I'm afraid not OG enough to know about the KROGER! LOL
Another great video! Thanks for sharing Jeff! 👍🏻🍻🇺🇸🏍
Thanks for watching!
😂 for 4 years i rode a 250r ninja. I thought i was ready. To all beginners, do not buy one of these
I would say not a great beginner bike lol.
They are the business, aren't they?
990 sounds good
The noise is almost better than the bike! Thank you!
Think I'd rather do it on a mountain bike but this was cool I guess
Well go and do it on a mountain bike I guess.....
Nice bike! I had a 1997 ZX11R in 1997, but I sold it because of my first child. I bought a 2000 ZX12R, maybe 5 years ago! I had plans on getting this bike next... I'll never sell it!
They are great bikes!
You don't need to ride the balls off them - they can cruise quite happily.
If I wanted to cruise, I would buy another goldwing. Which I likely will. The zx12r is not comfortable after an hour or so.
Fucking cows!!!🤣
That was pretty cool fixing that dudes gate! 👍 cool vid bud!
I'm not always a scum bag!
What's up buddy!!! just wanted too give you a shout out! love your vids bud!🤘
Thanks bill!
Where is?
Mexico!
Nice set up. I have a 2004 950 adventure. Did the Cyclops High and Low in a Euro light, but have the LED version of the Rade Garage set up now. Have a Baja designs 10” bar in the same spot as you. It’s an older Baja designs stealth, would like to upgrade to the ONX6. I would also like to put a couple of the S1 or S2’s on my hand guards, used to have a mount that went on the bottom of the triple with a couple squadron pros that turned when you turn, i liked that. Nice bike, nice riding, and nice set up, thanks for the videos. Makes me want to do a walk around video on my bike.
And I thought I had alot of light! Your setup sounds wild! Do the walk around. People are always asking about lighting!
Looks like a blast!
It was! Thanks for watching!
Be safe man. I hope to enjoy many more videos from you. You probably know how to ride but its them other ppl on the road that you have to worry about. 👊👍
Absolutely. I probably won't have this bike much longer. I need something more chill. Thank you for watching!
@@AdventureJeff269 I've had my ZX-12r for almost 20 years and no problems. It is a fun bike and I will never sell it. I love it.
It is a great bike! I wanted one forever, so I haven't fully committed to selling it. Especially since I had to buy two 12's to make this one.
I sold my Zx12r 20 years ago. It was too fast for me! I saw 300 kph on the speedo every day… Still one of the best bikes ever made. Comfortable, fast and easy to ride.
5:32 - Spit my coffee out. 🤣Come on GoPro... 100% on the gearing makes a big diff off road and the high way not a bad at all. What suspensions are you running?
Damn gopro! When I first got the bike I sent to SPS and had it sprung for weight and valves to my riding style and pace. They did a great job and would recommend them. I just eventually outgrew the valving and have had that adjusted twice for more dampening on compression especially since. As my pace increases it seems like I end up at the max compression adjuster setting and then have the entire range moved up to get me back to the middle of adjustment. Hopefully that's not confusing and answers the question. I do plan on safari tanks in future and will go up a few spring rates on the forks to compensate for that extra weight when full. Thanks for watching.
@@AdventureJeff269 SPS does good work, my buddy has a 950 with their forks. I went pretty aggressive with the revalve and springs - at first I thought I over did it but now very happy with it. Do you do anything for the shock? That's my next big thing. Those tanks will be nice for the new part of the US you are in. I use a 2 gal GL bladder with stock tanks for the North East. Just dump it into the tank before the rough stuff.
I have had the shock through essentially the same process. SPS first, then a local guru make minor adjustments after. I was looking at the giant loop bladders as an alternative. Which bladder do you use?
Please you and Like share subscribers Thanks 🙏🙏👍👍 Amen
When in doubt close it. Almost no downside. Also, That did look like someone gave up trying to put it back.
That's kind of what I thought. It had been run over a few times and that seemed rude so I just put it back ip.
Hi Jeff! Yes, the etiquette is to leave a gate how it was, but maybe someone didn't close it (lazy) when they went through. Also, if it needs to be open, they can open it again. Cheers! 👍🏻🇺🇸🍻🏍
Thanks. Haven't come across a gate laid down like that yet so wasn't sure.
Where did you find it? I've been looking for a green 12R for a while. Amazing bikes, first bike I did 200 mph on, mine had a full Akrapovic system, filter and a tune, 202mph took a while and a long road but what a rush.
They are strong for sure. I bought mine in Ohio and then bought the B model in Illinois to combine all the best parts in a super 12r lol. It may be for sale soon. Keep an eye on the channel!
Just did it a few days ago with a buddy, both of us on 701's. We launched from where all the rock climbers are at on Potash Road, round trip for us was really close to what you said 136. We were told you can't do it in a day, and gave us a pass to go like a 1/3rd. Visitor station said you have to go 15mph, which is just silly. If you came from the other side, you'd never see a speed sign... In the end I think it took us 4.5 to 5.5 hours, I don't really remember, just we were eating burgers in Moab at 6:30 and we left the truck at 11'ish am. There were a ton of bicycles and everyone was really nice. I think the issue is people being loud and not respectful of others on the trail, no clue why the speech we got. You're supposed to be 60db max too, which is not possible lol. I will tell you I was thinking of taking my wife in the tundra or 80 series, but nope not now.
Hope you enjoyed it! I thought it was a beautiful ride. We thought everyone was super nice also. I had no idea there was a speed limit, and we did not get the speech lol. Whenever we noticed we were kicking up a lot of dust, we would slow down near other travelers. We generally slow down a little near other even if there isn't a ton of dust, but especially when dusty. How did the 701 do on fuel?
Congrats! Had an 01, lots of mods. Best bike ever!!!
It's been a great bike so far!
yeah, i aim for 150 miles to a tank. It's just the way they are.
I think if I could stay off the throttle for a full tank 150 miles is pretty reasonable.
Another b@d@$$ video with 990 sounds galore. Do you carry extra fuel? Have you ever run out of fuel on your 990?
Thanks!! I wasn't carrying extra fuel here, but I have before. And no I have not run out ever. I have pushed the bike to 152 miles before when ai rode white Rim and the low fuel light had been on for about 25 miles lol.
Oh heck yes! Thanks for bringing us along...cool ride!
Thanks for watching!! We'll have that Transalp up there soon!
@@AdventureJeff269 I think so--it doesn't look too radical. Thanks for the video.
Hi Jeff! Glad to see you're all settled in Nevada! EAA is awesome! I was there in 85' when the Concord did a customer paid exhibition flight. What size is your enclosed trailer? Cheers! 🍻🏍🇺🇸
I would love to see the Concorde fly! Jealous! It's a 6x12 with a ton of work done to it.
@@AdventureJeff269 I'm looking at going the cargo/toy hauler trailer route too. Manufactured RV's have so many things I don't want (also don't want to pay for) and are not modular. Take Care and maybe I'll see you in Nevada someday! 👍🏻🍻🇺🇸
Well Sh!%. Here it is Sunday... And I'm at work! Haha! Can't wait till the weekend. Nice ride man. Great place to play on two wheels.
Nooooooooooo!!!
Awesome views!
More vids on your 12r set up? Did you end up swapping forks out to 2nd gen 12r?
Yes. Its a A1 combined with a B1. I bought two bikes and combined them, so the A1 has B1 forks, shock, swingarm, and calipers from B1. Then tons of other mods, big rotors, SS brake lines, upgraded clutch, titanium exhaust, PC5, lowered, a bunch of weight off, and I'm sure I am missing a bunch of things. There are other videos on the channel about it. It may be up for sale soon!
Im going to be playing this in my moab garage bar.
Hell yeah brother!
Someday I mightt invest in a set of studs Just to see if you can get any traction in some of the real slippery stuff. The hardest part for me is getting moving.
I ran grip studs on. My yz250x for a couple years. I just never enjoyed the deep snow riding much so I sold my studded setup. I've done a few really icy winter pavement rides, but decided not worth it. Ill ride super cold Temps, but not if snow or ice on road more than like 10%. I'm getting old lol
Dope 60 series land cruiser 🤘. Video wasn't bad either 😘. I gotta get out there to ride with you bro!! Looks so fun!!

@@AdventureJeff269 "Elko Motorcycle Group," There is another Nevada Adventure Riders with a club outside of Reno but they don't most much on there anymore. Dayton, Reno , & Virginia City has some world class riding. "Grieger Grade" Between Reno and Virginia City is a G! Road Paved Road with incredible views. Best dirt by Reno and Dayton is "MoonRocks!" Hungry Valley Rec Area since you like sand. This area is named after some Granite Outcroppings that the Rock Crawlers Love to play on. But the rest of the area is a Cat Litter Consistency with double digit mile long washes at least a dozen dirt tracks and some hill climbs to accommodate any level of Ryder. Between Wildhorse and Jarbidge I would call that the Best Dirt Road you might ever ride in your life. AMAZING VIEWS TREES CLIFFS Jarbidge is the most remote town in the USA. Also North of Elko Jack Creek Rd from Tuscarora to Wildfires is an awesome dirt road. Red Rock ATV Trails south of Battle Mtn, NV 70 miles west of Elko. These ATV trails were built just as Side by Sides became popular. They are all 50" wide meant to be slow and technical for ATV's. Nothing but Turn and Gas on a bike. By the time you stop and catch your breath you have no idea where you are. This area is barely used you can tell you have the place to your self when you get to the parking lot. Another good dirt ride by Battle Mtn Lewis Canyon, Hill Top Canyon, Horse Canyon, Plus the Bubble RD. Lots of fun dirt roads with side trails on all three of those. When the snow melts. North 5th street is a fun ride with lots of side trails off the road. Bullion Rd. South West of Elko has some great hill climbs that aren't to challenging except maybe on a big bike. And Bullion Rd. is probably one of the fastest dirt Roads that winds through some Juniper Trees you can power slide every corner going from Elko to South Fork Reservoir. Then over to Harrison Pass another beautiful road that can just be ripped. It also takes you into Ruby Valley you can make an awesome loop out of this by going east and comment back to Elko by Secret Pass or Going south and coming back over Overland Pass. There is hundreds of thousands of miles of awesome dirt riding and a few great paved roads to ride in Nevada. Just thinking about them make the hair stand up on my arms. You're gonna love it here. Welcome to ADV Nevada!
This is awesome. Tug on your balls. I will post up on your Facebook page in a bit. Thanks for sharing.
Balls....tugged! Lol
That Land Cruiser looked like an early '80's FJ60 Great video Jeff!
I knew someone would correct me! He was a nice fella. Pulled off and let me pass!
Dude so you must be new to Northern Nevada from Michigan? How long have you been here? You have to check out the Swell are while in Utah. South East Utah is cool. But there is some stuff in the middle that is a must see not advertised like the popular spots. If you haven’t been here in Northern Nevada long I’m gonna be pumped to take you out and show you ADVNevada. There is much awesome stuff to see. Not much of it has the challenges that Utah brings though.
I'm almost always down for a ride. Thanks for offering a tour guide. I'll surely take you up on it. Where do you guys post your group rides? I would join on some of them.
Good Stuff Jeff. So it looks similar to Overland Pass or out towards Squaw Tit. Glad to see another local ADV guy. Will have to get together and ride sometime. There is so many cool places the NVBDR misses. Some of this road looked pretty good. Thanks for taking us along. I shared the video on the ADV Riders Facebook Page and I’ll share it on my channel as well. That 990 sure sounds good pinned!! 👊 I’ve never run the 805’s I usuallly run the Anakee Wilds. But I’m currently waiting for the rear Trail Max Raid to show up along with new exhaust for the GSA. I mounted the front Trail Max Raid yesterday.
990 makes the best noises! I'm noting all these spots your mentioning and adding to my list to visit!
wow ! just like you this is not normal for me - what a ride

Thank you for posting this!! Planning to take my 890 Rally out there next month and wanted to see if there was any crazy exposure stuff but looks so fun to ride!!
You are near some decent drop offs. Other than that, it's not a super technical ride.
My 2000 gl1500 has progressive front springs, tubes upgrade as well as rear Progressive rear shocks...HUGE!!! difference.

I took my gl1100 off road, my gl1200 i would take on gravel roads especially for camping with my tent trailer. Now I have a gl1500 I don't think I will take it off road but definitely gravel roads so I can still go camping. Keep the rubber side down
The gl1500 did great for reasonable off reading. I obviously wouldn't take it on sandy single track if I wanted to keep it nice, but with a bit more aggressive tire. I'm sure it would do it if you didn't care enough lol. Thanks for watching. There will likely be more touring bike footage in the future.
