This is a guitar solo cover of "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" by Megadeth, played in Rocksmith 2014. I don't think Dave ever topped this solo, in terms of raw energy and shred factor. This is the peak thrash metal solo.
You know it's a hard solo when you can see Joker's face
You know it's a joke when you see the Jokers face. That lead comprisis basic panatonic structure. Easy shit with a lack of any real depth or substance, like most of their music generally speaking.
@@jefft6802 let's see ur music lol💀u prolly cant even play the main riff of this song
@@hiroku5550...Ironically, I do play guitar which is how I know the riff is lame. The composition structure of Hammett and Hetfield's materials is much more sound fundamentally speaking as compared to Mustaine's work, which seems to be more random and sporadic in nature. And as soon as that Weasley voice of his enters the equation, sorry but I can't take too much of the sound of a rat running in a caged atmosphere. To each his own, but I'm out.
@@jefft6802 ur saying Metallica is more complex?💀Cliff made Metallica a lil more complex but he ain't wit us no more sadly...ik a lot of ppl dont like Dave's voice but u cant lie it does fit.
@@hiroku5550
Cliff didn’t make Metallica nor did he make them more complex. Those responsible for writing the vast majority of their music, which is most likely Hetfield, made Metallica and the complexities associated therewith.
Masterful music composure isn't all about the complexity of it's structure. It's much more involved than just that, and so much so that we can't even comprehend exactly what goes into it in order to produce and/or reproduce it. The bottom line is that the masses ultimately determine whether the work is masterful or not by the number of albums sold.
According to Universal Music Japan, METALLICA sold over 120,000,000 albums worldwide, including 64,018,000 in the United States and 2,600,000 in the United Kingdom. The best-selling album by METALLICA is METALLICA, which sold over 33,000,000 copies.
According to Universal Music Japan, MEGADETH sold over 38,000,000 albums worldwide, including 6,500,000 in the United States and 440,000 in the United Kingdom. The best-selling album by MEGADETH is COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION, which sold over 2,465,000 copies .
At 156,706,000 EAS, Metallica is the best selling metal act of all-time.
At 156,706,000 EAS, Metallica is the second best selling US band of all-time.
Metallica is one of only 4 acts with 6 consecutive 10 million sellers (EAS).
At 45,433,000 EAS, Metallica is the 3rd most successful album from 1991.
At 19,070,000 EAS, …And Justice For All is the 4th most successful album from 1988.
At 17,350,000 EAS, Master Of Puppets is the 6th most successful album from 1986.
At 16,900,000 US Soundscan sales, Metallica is the highest selling album over this panel in this country since 1991.
At 27 years and 6 months, Metallica has the longest span ever of consecutive US #1 studio albums.
Master Of Puppets was the 2nd fastest album from the 80s to hit 10 million stream with all its tracks. …And Justice For All and Ride The Lightning will soon become the 4th and 5th, respectively.
Metallica is one of the only 3 albums from the 90s with 2 tracks over 300 million streams in Spotify.
There is no question who the masterful composer is.
None whatsoever.
Dave knew he had to up his game when Marty joined.
And he was still lame.
@@jefft6802I’d hate to be this ignorant. Pls do better
@@blahzay_ .....it's called common sense.
@@jefft6802 Lame? Yea this is no Tornado of Souls but that's the best solo on Holy Wars. Dave's solos are not melodic but they are thrashy and fast. It just melts your face. While Marty's solos are like an orgasm.
@@jefft6802 lmao okay
Lol this has confirmed my theory that nobody actually plays from reading the sceeen.
You do while learning it that's ab it tho
What is this game?
@@Zorro7269 rocksmith
@@buttcandirtyass2127 yeah i figure they have a sloweddown mode or something for learning.
@@idk9637 they do but somehow it’s worse than full speed. Rocksmith for learners is fucking difficult if you started on Guitar Hero

"AR YOU WINNING SON?"
I want to like this comment but it's at 69 likes and I feel like it should stay that way
One of the most dynamic sounding solos ever it really feels like its going somewhere. Best megadave song for sure
Im not a fan of just shredding mindlessly like in most solos in metal but this actually a proper nice solo
Wouldn’t say it’s dynamic sounding
@@nostrum7278🤔 i think the opposite...most solos in metal are very melodic and not mindless. Just gives that impression cause of the speed.
Precisely this solo (and mustaine solos in general) sounds like mindless shredding but it's one of my favourites at that and it fits the madness at the end of this song.
@@scoopskiii how not? It literally sounds like its going somewhere
Agreed megadave shreds
Someone get my man a whammy bar
fr man, wtf is this
It’s more badass with down tuning
This is how Dave played on the original studio solo, his Jackson V's don't have whammy bars
@@LowEndMassacre the deans don’t but his Jackson’s had a Floyd rose
@@metalhd7277no they had kahler hardtails
I first came across Megadeth in my college dorm room on acid and Holy Wars was the first song I heard. I listened to it for 10 hours straight. Changed my life.
You sure that wasn't mostly the acid?
I had a similar experience with acid it was with sweet home Alabama I kept on repeating the main chorus in my head and it was like it was actually playing
Beautiful story.
@@jacobgreenlee5015You sure it wasn't The Four Horsemen?
That happened to me too, but it was the theme song to "Oh Brother, Where Art Though?",playing in a loop on a DVD player and I was too high to get out from under the chick that was holding me down so I wouldn't fall off the planet. The good ol' days, or so I hear tell.
That time when you play the solo cleaner that the original studio recording...
You melted my face man, I literally couldn't close mouth.
Rock on.
Jesus Christ, I’ve never heard a version that’s so insanely spot on, even cleaner than the studio version itself hahaha
Mustaine makes a bunch of mistakes in the studio version.
@@masteryoda6988 Did you know that they kept the very first track of Dave playing the “…the Punishment Due” solo, and that’s what was used on the final master of RIP????
It is discussed in the “Dave Mustaine Rust in Peace The Inside Story of the Megadeth Masterpiece” book.
@@4JudasPriest4 I know because I have the book.
@@4JudasPriest4 damn that’s neat. A testament to Dave’s soloing skills back in the day
The riff in the bridge is so badass i can’t get enough of it
That was the cleanest cover I've ever heard of this solo
That’s fucking amazing man! 😮
I’ve finally mastered this solo and my fingers feel like they will fall off if I have to stretch my third finger to the 17th fret again
Shreddiest for sure, now do “my last words” the face melter!!!
My favorite Dave solo is the end solo of Jump In The Fire. The things he could have done for Metallica are innumerable but hey, like everyone says, if it wasn’t for that we wouldn’t have Megadeth!
Huhhh it would be really cool to hear what he would've created with them. Kinda breaks my heart. I loved me some Kirk Hammett as a kid though his solos fit really well for me. There's a cool dude that makes what if Master of Puppets was on the Ride the lightning album type shit. I wonder if I could convince him to do a what if Dave never left Metallica medley or something, that would be halfway to a dream come true.
@@7heplague236 hammet is walking pile of garbage, just like Metallica
@@7heplague236State of Mercury is the best "what if" I can think of. Would be a good what if Dave wrote master of puppets or dyers eve
filthy and the tone is perfect one of my most favourite solos ever you fucking nailed it man!
I love playing this solo it's insanely fun
I think to myself before playing this do i wanna torture my hands? Yes yes I do
miss miss miss missss ....
Nails the solo rocksmiths like nope you missed
that tone is immaculate
This is not a solo, this is insanity
This definitely guitar hero now I’m glad I’ve been practicing for 4 years 😊
Dude Dave Mustaine has made such an impact and influence on music, that initial run in the solo sounds so classic from the 90's, that has definitely influenced other players and hook lines for other songs, definition of shredding 🔥💯
Holy sh*t! Killer!!
Holy wars the greatest metal song ever wrote !! Dave is the god of guitar gods !!
Absolutely!
Very debatable
Wouldnt even say its the best megadeth song tbh.
@@idk9637 options vary ! Is cool !
@@idk9637 I can't think of a better megadeath song than holy wars. Which song is better you think?

Excellent work dude!!!!
holy shit!! please tutorial / tab o anything about this. Its the best solo cover on youtube dude.
Rocksmith is just like: "Bends?! You think I'm gonna measure your Bends too?!"
After 30 plus years as a blues/hard rock lead guitar , I am just now practicing my shredding skills. Dude, that was an excellent rip! Very clean and inspirational. Thanks!

FUCK YEAHHHHHH BRO. . THAT GUITAR SOLO WAS FUCKIN BAD ASS. . THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS. . HORNS UP 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘 🤘
This is the hardest solo in that song. It's the only one I can't figure out perfectly. Marty's solos are hard and take a while to learn, but they're usually a bit more clear to hear and they make a bit more sense, music theory-wise. I feel like Dave Mustaine doesn't get enough credit as a lead guitarist. Because he's really really fast. Like super fast. And he makes the blues scale his b*tch.
Love that Spider cord!
Nailed it 🤘
F*CK YES 🔥🔥🔥🤘😜🤘🔥🔥🔥
The downtuning to get that effect at the end was a chef's kiss imo
Sweet job
Thank you very much for existing Dave Mustaine
My favorite guitar solo of all time.
His shreddiest solo is In My Darkest Hour. It's just plain shredding and nothing else. No stops or anything.
Sick 🤘
Fuck yeah
His playing on endgame was at his peak
Makes me miss rocksmith
Megadeth rules🤘
When dave plays it though you never hear each note, it just all bleeds into itself
Sick
This solo is my primary definition of a “face melter” . It’s just fucking perfect
HOLYYYY WARRZZZZ. Quite possibly the greatest metal song ever made..
I thought his best solo was from in my darkest hour.
Yeahhhhh wowowowowo 🤘🤘🤘☝🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Holy cow!! Epic!!
Ahhh, the good old pentatonic...
My face just melted from watching this
Well done sir.
Oh yes brother 🤝
Holy crap i dont know nothing about guitar playong but it connected when the second slider to the left appeared
I hit the griddy every time I hear the Rattlehead solo. Holy Wars is pretty good too.
Nice Holy Wars solo
dont forget thats the "rythm guitar" part
