    I 100% agree with this theory. I like stage Vlad's backstory. I wish that the animated movie had included the intriguing things Vlad's musical added. I have a headcanon for Vlad and Dimitri, in the scene where Dimitri is leaving Paris and says goodbye to Vlad, Vlad and Dimitri seen to share a very father/son bond. I could Vlad as a fake count taking pity on Dimitri when he was a young pickpocket, orphan. Vlad was pretending to be a count he couldn't exactly come up with a fake son/nephew because it would poke holes into his false count story, but Vlad could've gotten Dimitri the job at the palace so that he could see that Dimitri would have a job that would give him security and food. When the Bolsheviks stormed the palace and destroyed the royal family then they stuck together as conmen because Dimitri lost his job at the palace and Vlad would halt his charade.

    When I first saw this movie, my favorite character was Sophie. Not because of anything she does, but because it was the first movie I'd seen a heavyset woman in who wasn't either 1) cranky and/or evil or 2) really old. I hadn't even thought about Vlad...
    But, if you think about it, that's the best mark of a conman right there. Conmen (and women) get their way because people DON'T think too much. Like you said, he walk the walk and talk the talk (and had probably gotten the right kind of clothes from somewhere) and no one challenged his identity.
    I also think there's just a little bit more to it than that though. I think he really fell in love with Sophie. Going back to the music of the film, do you remember when Anya and Dimitri were dancing on the boat? Vlad sings about how they're falling in love with each other and he's almost sobbing by the end of the song about how he "never should have let them dance." Of course, I could be wrong.
    Thank you for the video! :)

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  3 роки тому +4

      Oh, I definitely agree that Vlad has the tinglies for Sophie, I just don’t think that SHE knows his background. Considering she still serves her cousin, the Dowager Empress, it seems like the olden days and titles would mean a lot to Sophie. Otherwise, I feel like she would have married someone in France or that Vlad would have come for her sooner. It’s especially suspicious considering that Vlad is decorated in a fancy suit and a lot of medals (for what?) at the end - so I’m pretty confident that Sophie has no clue Vlad’s a phony. lol

    Hey here's a theory(headcannon? Idk I think there's something to it) for you.
    The puppy has a very similar haircut (weird that a dog has a haircut btw) looks a lot like her younger brothers hair and almost seem like they have similar personalities. Though I do recognize that we don't really see her young brother very much in the movie. Only maybe twice? Both her brother and the puppy both have blue eyes.

    Cavalier King Charles are excellent dogs. My mom has one called Sunny and she is the most spoiled baby. They do shed some no where near as much as say pugs or shepards and their fur can get really long so regular brushing is important and the should get groomed about once every month or two because that long silky coat can really get matted or tangled and it’ll hold on to little bits of debris. But in my opinion they’re absolutely worth the extra grooming effort because they are just the sweetest dogs. And unless you plan to show them you can just keep them in a puppy clip and they look perfectly adorable

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the high praise on the breed, it helps ease any worries I had about getting a breed I wasn’t experienced with. So far Bean has been the best puppy that I’ve ever had! She jumps around for about 20 minutes and then for hours she’s in “let’s just lay together and cuddle.” I loved my corgis so much, they’re adorable with so much personality, but omg they are such stubborn buttheads that ask for an inch and then take a mile! Bean still has her puppy coat, but I’m already finding random floor debris in there, so her adult coat is definitely something I’m trying to think ahead for how to manage. I don’t see a show career in her future, so I don’t mind to cut her hair, but I hear contradictory information as to whether it’s a double coat that shouldn’t be cut or a single coat, so I’ll eventually talk to a groomer about it.

    • @Oiyuki
      @Oiyuki 3 роки тому

      @@TheFangirlWatches They need regular haircuts even if you’re going to grow it out to the show length it does need regular trimming it’s part of the maintenance of the breed. To keep the hair healthy sort of like how humans need regular haircuts to keep their hair healthy. The hair should be cut but never shaved, it’s shaving that damages double coated dogs hair. My mom’s girl goes in once every two months just to get a really good bath and her feet and the long parts of her coat trimmed back to a tidy length. Depending on your dog and the sort of lifestyle that y’all live you could probably take her in more or less often it just depends on what you end up needing. Your description of beans behavior sounds about normal for the breed they like to play a bit but they really are very much lap dogs and just sort of want to cuddle with you. I don’t know much about them as puppies since we adopted Sunny as an adult but we’ve had her for about 6 years so I feel pretty confident saying she’ll be a wonderful cuddle buddy for you😁

    Slightly unrelated idea/theory incoming!
    Dimitri ALSO had amnesia around the night Anastasia went missing through most of the film. He just was a little less affected than Anya was. Below will be my points.
    1. Both Anya and Dimitri get knocked out that night. Just in different ways that could cause different kinds of trauma. Anya lands on railroad tracks headfirst, and is instantly knocked out. A clear hard and heavy hit. And definitely one that'd cause severe head trauma or a concussion, which seems to be the case. Anya even states how she was found 'wandering around'. Perhaps part of it was being dazed from a concussion? One that probably wasn't properly treated in the orphanage she was brought to? Either way she ends up losing more memories of that night than Dimitri does. That said, Dimitri still doesn't remember enough of that night to accurately tell anyone of it. He NEVER brings it up until after Anya's vague memory of the night comes up when talking to Sophie. This leads me to believe Dimitri just didn't remember like Anya did, he only remembered the music box and that it was important to Anastasia and her Grandmother. After all he did witness Anastasia receiving it from her Grandmother and how close they seemed to be when discussing it before being dragged back to the kitchen. I also believe he only remembers this much, because Vlad found him after the siege and took him away. From there Vlad made sure he was treated as properly as he could manage before his money ran out or became useless in the new gov. Ensuring Dimitri did remember a bit more but again, not everything.
    2. More proof of this lies in Vlad's reaction to what Anya says. Vlad literally says, "I almost believed her!" Meaning he thought Anya pulled the answer out of her rear pretty much. Dimitri by this time remembers the truth as she does tho, and tries telling him. He's just so excited that he isn't listening. Now why would I think Dimitri never told Vlad? Well like I said before, Dimitri didn't remember it. Thus he never brought it up. Dimitri also again doesn't bring it up ONCE until after Anya brings it up herself. You'd think if Dimitri DID remember he'd have told her to be absolutely sure the con wouldn't fail. But he doesn't tell her at all.
    3. Finally, the smallest point. Dimitri's own reaction to Anya's vague retelling of the escape. When Sophie asks the dreaded question, Dimitri actually appears to be holding his temple(Now he could he reacting like that because he realized he forgot to tell her this detail sure. But for the sake of the theory, let's note this detail). Almost like he's trying to force himself to remember the event as well. Realizing he doesn't remember either and that his con is now screwed because of his own lapse. Only for Anya to somehow pull through and remember it herself, albiet not very well. But as soon as she mentions that 'the boy' "opened a wall", Dimitri's reaction is especially telling to me. He starts off with a look of partial denial, then as the memories flood back he gets that revelation sort of look, then that look he gives after his head is completely turned back in Anya's direction. Shock and awe, with complete realization. Dimitri now remembers what happened that night fully. Which only makes having to let Anya go even more painful. At first she was part of the con for him, but now he knows without a shadow of a doubt, that she IS the real deal. He was already struggling with the idea of letting her go and not falling for her, but now it's even worse and harder for him. Adds a little extra tragedy until the ending of the film don't ya think?
    What'd ya guys think of this one? Also @The Fangirl, feel free to cover this one and research it more if you wanna. Just felt like sharing it because of how mind-blowing it felt to me.

    There actually WAS a Count Vladimir in the real Anastasia's life - Count Vladimir Frederiks, Nicholas II's Chief Court Minister. He was very close to the Tsar and his family, he called them 'mes enfants' and 'mon chere' and after the revolution he stayed in Russia walking up and down the street in his court uniform in protest. The bolsheviks saw him as a harmless eccentric and left him alone.

    • @TheFangirlWatches
      @TheFangirlWatches  3 роки тому +1

      I think the problem is that Rasputin was dead at the point the play would be set, and it always was a strange plot hole that the Russian government wasn’t interested in the return of Anastasia in the cartoon (they only show up to check passports and to give stern looks at people gossiping about Anastasia’s alive or dead status), so I though the play made a good transition. Rasputin made a fantastic villain for a movie, but he would be extremely hard to translate to a play since the character was always falling apart and using demons.

      Hmmm, that is an interesting question, because I think royal titles go away after 3 generations in most of Europe (so with the King, all of his grandson are still Princes, but his great-grandsons wouldn't be Princes unless their own father/grandfather went on the be King too). I'm not sure how that would apply to Eric's country though... 🤔

    I thought a similar thing watching this movie. I always wonder why vlad had to stay in that decrepid palace while the rest of the royals left the country and lived the good life openly.

    Um.. can I ask you something ? Please did you get your puppy from a breeder or a friend or was she born from one of your dog's I'm asking because I'm a bit woried about her because three weeks is to soon for a puppy to be taken from there parents the recommend age is 8 weeks I'm just concerned for her mental health and development ? I no some dog's can have bad things happen if you taking them way to soon

      I think you might have misunderstood something I said, or maybe you had on subtitles and they translated me wrong. The puppy was about 8.5 weeks old in this video and we picked her up at 8 weeks and 1 day old. We had put a deposit on her about 3 weeks ago, so maybe I said something like that? But a 3 week old puppy can barely move on it’s on, and usually can’t eat well enough to survive, so I wouldn’t have taken a puppy that young.

      @@TheFangirlWatches hi thank you for replying to me I no it's highly unlikely that you'd get a puppy that was three weeks old I was just wondering if you had or hadnot got her at that age of health reasons I think what happened was something about how and or what you said got lost it was probably me hearing you wrong Thanks again and glad everyone is alive and well 🙃😉🌝🌞😷
