And this is just him, probably somewhere in his 60's, and a guitar... no need to be hiding behind a band, orchestra whatsoever... just a pure, raw talent and passion for music. Hitting those notes so effortlessly in a way most singers decades younger than him can only dream of ❤
If you asked Celine she'd probably say she was a female John Farnham! Celine has made it no secret that she idolised John when growing up. She even mentioned in an interview in 2019, and I quote “Oh my God, I just love him so much. When I went to Australia last time I met with him and it was a dream come true. He sang the song [You’re The Voice] with me that night. I will never forget that.” John is definitely 'the singer's singer'. Before all of these awesome reaction channels such as yours Nick, whilst the general public outside of Australia didn't know much about him, renowned singers from around the world certainly did.
Tom Jones absolutely adores him as well and can never stop grinning like a cheshire cat as he listens to John sing. Richard Marxs as well reveres him almost as a god. Sammy Davis Jr. also was left speechless and looked at him with awe, Dean Martin as well remarked on his astounding vocal skills. There are countless Legends around the globe that hold him in high regard and were left gobsmacked that they couldnt talk him into going world wide.
Nick were you aware that you were on the Australian evening news last week. They were discussing a new generation of international music appreciators of Australian artists being led by internet activity. You were the visual example for the segment in reference to JF. Congrats!!
Not many people who can just sing raw, without missing a note... whilst sitting... John is and always will be one of the greatest..... kudos to Stewie (guitarist) for not losing it during the chaotic chorus hahahah
Nic, I have some sad news for you. You may already know that Stuart Fraser, John’s long-time guitarist who’s in this video, passed from lung cancer some time ago. However, your favourite Australian female soul singer, the wonderful Renee Geyer, passed only yesterday, also from lung cancer. She was 69 and had just had hip surgery. Whilst in hospital it was discovered that Renee had inoperable lung cancer. RIP Stuart and Renee! 🙏
John has sung with Celine Dion. He got emotional when she told him she was his number one fan. He was about 70. John has done this before. The people he gave the words to cannot sing and it is funny. They are good sports and he loves to have fun.
5 Dec 2022 ... John Farnham underwent a grueling 12-hour surgery by 26 surgeons in August to remove a cancerous tumour from his mouth and part of his jaw.
I’m reading a John Farnham biography atm and it says that a rap song by Ghostface Killah song called Blue Armor has a sample of a John Farnham track for a US movie (Savage streets) soundtrack called ‘Innocent Hearts’. Maybe you heard John years ago Nick, and didn’t realise?
He did a few songs for movies back in the 89’s when LRB was touring America…. One i I think being the Chevy chase film Fletch, and a few others I can’t remember the names
Don't want to crash the Farnsey party but Nick, do yourself a favor. Watch Renee Geyers version of "it's a man's world". I'm sure she's a friend of John's and he wouldn't mind.

The show was so great back then , most weeks they would have a musical act on but only live and acoustic and the acts actually chose the songs not the show or record company. Jane Kennedy, who was getting into it , was not normally on but she as one of the shows producers punted her husband Rob Sitch off because she really wanted to be on the show with John as a huge fan. The shows creators did previously have a radio show where they made a song which parodied John and Jimmy among others. They've made tv radio books movies ,all hugely successful for more than 30 years. The compilation parody is "Five in a row "ua-cam.com/video/JJYcx9-xdlE/v-deo.html and "5 more in a row ".ua-cam.com/video/xH0JRURcqRY/v-deo.html Jane plays Kylie Minogue, Rob is the DJ and John and a few others. Santo Cilauro at the desk on the right is multiple too. As is the guy in the middle Tom Gleisner.
The woman who sings the ‘every time, every time’ etc at the end- she’s also the chainsaw wielding woman in the clip for seemed like a good idea at the time that you reacted to a while ago 🤣🤣🤣

Long time watcher, first time commenter. I grew up listening to John, and watching him with your new love is wholesome and addictive. It's a crime of circumstance that you weren't born here, and had more chance to see him live!
Hi I have included a link when John met Sammy Davis Junior on the Don Lane so ( Australia’s equivalent to Jonny Carson) Don was very supportive of Jonny when he couldn’t get a break via the music industry and had him on the show a lot. This clip shows how much confidence Jonny had lost in terms of his singing ability. Obviously blew SDJ out of the water www.nfsa.gov.au/collection/curated/john-farnham-meets-sammy-davis-jr

He makes a fun, concert style, party experience out of someone elses song, a single guitarist. Legend.
He is a delight to watch❤
He is such a lovely bloke.
Such a fun version. The hosts used to be known as the D Gen and did Melbourne breakfast radio together and some tv comedies.
Miss them all!
I went to see him with the “Jack’s Back” tour. I was about 14. Me & my best friend had the greatest time. Such an entertainer 🥰
