Fasting (sawm). Pilgrimage (hajj), if you can afford it. That's what makes you muslim. But it just makes you a believer, not good, not bad, but just a believer. It's the minimum you have to do. The problem I have with this take is that Nas Daily is more than just for Muslims. He is for all people. He gives advice on the things you mentioned, especially travel and dating. Mostly reasonable take but huge problems. People will find out either way. We all are sinners with very different beliefs. Someone shouldn't hide the things you think are sinful to appear better than they are. That could be more damaging and lead more people "astray" once the "truth" is revealed. Instead, the better approach would be to just be honest about who you are and address these concerns openly. Teach young people not to put others on pedestals and just see them for who they actually are, normal people with their own faults like the rest of us. Showing your sins in Islam is really bad, it's taking pride in the wrong doing and normalizing sins. Surah An-Nisa (4): 148, “Allah does not like that evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged.” No one is taking nas on a pedestal, but kids and teens copy who ever they're watching think of you watching some edgy youtuber as a teen and copying him, and if some mf claims to be muslim while proudly doing unislamic things it's bound to make his viewers think that these things are fine. Mostly reasonable take but huge problems. People will find out either way. We all are sinners with very different beliefs. Someone shouldn't hide the things you think are sinful to appear better than they are. That could be more damaging and lead more people "astray" once the "truth" is revealed.
Instead, the better approach would be to just be honest about who you are and address these concerns openly.
Teach young people not to put others on pedestals and just see them for who they actually are, normal people with their own faults like the rest of us. The moment you strip all that away, you might learn something from people who live differently than you, even if you still end up disagreeing. We all disagree with each other on things. Sometimes, we should start to focus on what we agree on instead.

Showing your sins in Islam is really bad, it's taking pride in the wrong doing and normalizing sins. Surah An-Nisa (4): 148, “Allah does not like that evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged.”
No one is taking nas on a pedestal, but kids and teens copy who ever they're watching think of you watching some edgy youtuber as a teen and copying him, and if some mf claims to be muslim while proudly doing unislamic things it's bound to make his viewers think that these things are fine.

In Islam we all know that we do sins, it’s human nature and that point is emphasized very much, so no one is having fantasies about a sinless life. God tells us that “every son of Adam is a sinner and the best of sinners are those that repent”.
