Against the ludicrous backdrop of pointless fidget spinners; it is a welcomed breath of fresh air to see beautiful, hand made, functional woodworking, made from slabbed trees, that can be passed down for generations! Thank you Matt!
I hope you realize 1000s of new fathers now have justification for going out to buy stuff. That stuff would be lumber and equipment to build a crib, changing table, bed, and bassenet. My kids are 19 and 21 and their curry cherry high chair is still in the guest room. Need a worn high chair??? ha ha
Planning [waaay in advance] my own crib build - are those support panels under the mattress totally free-floating? Or are they tongue-and-grooved for a little extra structure or something? Simple 3/4 stock? I would also comment on how great all the nursery furniture is, but it looks like you have plenty of fans already - don't want you to get a big head. :-p
Awesome update on all of the pieces you made and some of the comments you received are funny. Also great family stories such as the spindles in the crib. You have a awesome family enjoy 😊.
I am thinking about building a crib for a baby on the way, so this video was really helpful! I would like to build it with the ability to break it down, and wondering what you think about possibly using some steel bed fasteners (www.rockler.com/heavy-duty-wrought-steel-bed-rail-fasteners-4-pack-select-size) - Do you think that will provide enough strength, how did your dowels work?
Buy? Matt can do better than that! With his skills, he can put the Gamble House to shame. The only thing he needs to buy, is a nice healthy chunk of the Earth's crust, so he has a place to build the Cremona House.
that happens with all cribs , u can buy a fabric that gets attached to the crib so they can't put their arms or legs out . happened to my child a few times lol . then i bought the velcro attachment fabric problem solved
JR i so love your bed buddy... Matt Morse code ... ..... lol But those pieces look great... have a great week, well whats left of it, and a awesome weekend cause then Lindsay be off of work and so great family time...later
I never had any nursery furniture, to speak of, for my 3 boys. Only one glider with a matching ottoman and a portable crib. You built an entire nursery full! That's phenomenal! I don't know what was worse, the first time my jaw hit the floor or the third time it bounced! ♥♥♥♥♥ for the nursery furniture +♥ infinity for the smart little man talking up a storm!
I absolute LOVE your channel. Not to sound like a creeper, but I would love to spend a week with you in your shop and working with you and your mill - a weeks vacation playing with wood sounds perfect to me lol. I just finished watching your bandsaw mill build videos and I am amazed with the size that your mill can handle. Also, I feel much better knowing I'm not the only one out there that has an affinity for wood and its beauty. Keep up the great work man.
I call them 'character marks'. You show it to them when they are older. When children get quiet, worry. I wish I had a video of walking into my son's room and catching him playing "helicopter". He was standing in the middle, spinning in a circle, with his arms outstretched. Then, my eyes went to his natural wood rocking horse...it had become white. Then, my eyes started drifting around the room. It looked as if it had snowed indoors. It took me a second to spot what he had in his hands. A huge bottle of corn starch. It was open.
The bed looks much different in its intended space. I like the compromising color tones. All of the "show" light made the dark wood look much lighter. I also understand why you will be looking to move into a larger house soon. lol Been in your same situation with our starter house. You run out of room in a hurry.
Baby furniture is supposed to show some wear as each kids uses it. It s the same way one door jam in the house keeps track of you kids heights as they grow. With only having 2 bedrooms does that mean you need to start thinking about an addition to the house or bunk beds? Thanks for sharing.
Matt, thanks for sharing, JR is a cutie! (Max too, but he did not star in this one.) Your comment about only two bedrooms and something you said in one of your sawmill videos has given me the impression that a move to a larger house is in the future.
Matthew Cremona Don't move too far! Next time I travel from the UK to Edina to visit a friend I have there I would like to see that BA sawmill. With your permission of course.
thank you for sharing . little ones are neat to watch . good luck . i had 4 eeek i mean yea . oh mine when they slept would spin in there sleep head in same spot body doing a 360
Looking at Max and thinking about how quickly he is going to grow you might want to think about planning how you can convert the bed to a bunk bed! Seriously, you demonstrate how well all the wooden furniture goes well together, thank you!
Thanks, they are so cute in just a cloth diaper. And JR always wants to get in on the action. Looking forward to the days when he can help me lift some of these slabs :)
Matt: Love how relaxed and content you are! Seems like getting the Mill running, clearing out the lumber, and getting your Son's bed have collectively unburdened you. Looking forward to seeing how the shop re-org and all those beautiful slabs inspire you. Woodworking indeed appears to be happy in your neck of the woods these days!
" I don't know what kind of crazy parenting experience you had... but I'm sorry" lol
Beautiful collection of furniture, really nice work on all pieces Matt!
Thanks Fred!

+William Alan Photo haha you done with those too? :)
Only since the moment I became aware of them.
Consider yourself God protected from Child Protective Services! Having a child IN YOUR BEDROOM! YYYYYIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS.
Awesome! If it survived a child and still look good...definitely a winner!
lol thanks Matthew!
Matt's wearing an ILTMS shirt because I watched this vid right after Bob's Outdoor Storage Bench vid.

Lindsay! Buy your family a bigger house! Unless of course, Matt wants to build bunk beds next for the two boys.

That's what I keep telling her ;) Plan is to move to a bigger house in the next year or so.
Man, where'd you get those awesome thread taps??? #SpagSecrets
8:22. Your furniture is great, your kids are cute, but your French Bulldog is to die for.
How do you sale your wood/slabs? Have you sent to California?
That looks beautiful in his room. Also looks very comfy.
Thanks Tiffany! I've dozed off on it already a few times

6:18 flip it upside down and turn it into a bench to sit down and put your shoes on before you go out
Wait til JR has his first sleep over at a friends house and realises just how cool his bed is
Love seeing the growth and evolutions of your projects and the growth of your family. Beautiful stuff!
Thanks Shawn!
Thanks for the update, great looking furniture, and I hope to live long enough to see JR & Max using the saw mill you built.
gA m with grey-haired Matt hovering in the background...
JR i so love your bed buddy... Matt Morse code

haha! Thanks Robert! It's going to be a nice family weekend :)
Aweome job Matt. On the furniture and the cute kids. Good work.
+Greg Dent thanks Greg!

Was the headboard (angle) comfortable sitting like you were?
super comfortable. I could sleep like that.

hahaha that's pretty far from creeper :) Thank you!!
I'd add a canopy in that bed and pass through the space where the spindles are missing. ❤ I'D SLEEP ON IT
We've done that with JR. Put a sheet over top and he has his own fort :)
Good stuff, thanks. I wonder how long it will be before JR breaks into Max's crib to play with his little brother? Cheers, David
+DRMNZ not long. He already has haha

Oh geez! Kids make sure our lives are never boring!
Don't sand away memories :). LMAO watching you sitting I in the crib -- baby Matt with a huge head of hair :-D
lol thanks Robert!
KIDS, what would we do without them. great job and family Matt.
+Mike Tarzwell thanks Mike! Kids are great :)
Thankfully your kids inherited Mom's looks... lol... great family
Great work Matt!.

Yeah, when you only have two bedrooms and they both are quite small, it makes the place quite cozy very quickly!
Beautiful furniture for your children! And for their children. Heirloom pieces, I would think.
Nice job Matt. Hope the little guy actually makes it into the crib:-0)
Thanks! Us too lol

We are hoping to move to a new house in the next year or so.
Breakin' out of baby prison! Way to go, little Cremona. :)
He's a clever baby!
Matt, Your wood takes up more room than your family. LOL!
LOL!
Matt, thanks for sharing, JR is a cutie! (Max too, but he did not star in this one.) Your comment about only two bedrooms and something you said in one of your sawmill videos has given me the impression that a move to a larger house is in the future.

The door to your room, behind the changing table, looks gorgeous! Is it white oak? Either way, I really like those patterns and figures in the wood.

Matt, not only are you a magician with wood; you make a mean bed!!
Thanks, Ronald!
Your parents need to be acknowledged as giving you a good work ethic, say thanks to them
+ Matthew: Dude! you have serious bed head!
Don't I always?
Cute kids and they are lucky to have such a good Daddy.
Thanks! I'm lucky to have such great kids.
I think JR's new bed should have been a bunkbed.
+peggyt1243 Lindsay would not enjoy the daredevil jumps associated with that
This video couldn't come at a better time; I'm designing the crib for our first child and have looked towards your videos for guidance.
Congrats on your first, Matt!
Matthew Cremona Thank you!

+Gardening and Woodworking in Canada JR is 22 months and Max is 5 months

+chiggymonkey hahaha
Love JR's cloth diapers, just like my 19 month old, he's usually running around with just a diaper on too. He's such a good little helper.
Thanks, they are so cute in just a cloth diaper. And JR always wants to get in on the action. Looking forward to the days when he can help me lift some of these slabs :)

Everything looks good, Matt, and I'm glad to see the removable dowels in the crib served a good purpose.
Thanks, Steve!
Such nice furniture!
