- While Nintendo has finally unveiled the Switch 2, there are so many questions left still to be answered at their upcoming April Direct. Launch games, battery life, new features, price, release date, and so much more. Here's all the biggest questions I have, and what I think, or at least hope, the answer is to many of them.
It’s a shot in the dark but I would LOVE to see Streetpass make a return from the 3DS. Such an underrated feature and it actually gave me a reason to take my 3DS out the house with me, my Switch has largely been kept indoors in the dock or just played on a couch / in bed.
Imagine if the only thing you needed to carry in your bag or pocket was a single Switch 2 joycon for the feature to work
@@corgikun2579 Would be a terrible idea, imagine losing your joycon while you are out and about. Also it would have no play value aside being a fidget toy.
@@corgikun2579along that line of thinking, why not just work with a smart phone app then? When you get home and fire up your switch, boom, you passed tons of people that own a Switch 2.
If they brought back Streetpass, that encouragement for people to carry their consoles around would give new life to its nature as a hybrid console - and be free advertising. It’s my #1 wish for this 4/2 presentation.

Yes I totally agree with you! The only problem I really ever had with the switch is they never updated the OS to do anything fun, themes specifically. Themes for Switch 2!
3DS themes were so simple but fun, I hope so too!
as long as the most basic software can run smoothly, I'll be happy. The OG switch can't even load the store or news without stuttering.
That's more so because the Switch doesn't have an app for the Eshop, It runs on a generic web browser that's not specifically designed for it

I believe the "C" button will "Change" the joy stick mode to mouse mode. 🤔

@@molarrr people have been guessing "Chat"... but that makes way more sense.
But both joycon can seemingly be used as a mouse. Why would it only be on the right one.
@@harperl2humanity would have to become a lot nicer for Nintendo to even spend a thought about bringing back a chat feature.
@LG555 I've been thinking it could stand for chat but I think it could also stand for community possibly a button that opens up a friend's tab or someplace to discuss about that game with other users
If you can still sync an old joycon to the Switch 2, then there's no reason Ring Fit couldn't still work
Let's not worry and let Nintendo show everything.

I’m subscribed because I love the switch accessories videos. I’m eager to see what offerings we get from third parties for controllers, cases, grips, docks, etc.
@ 5:59 - Nintendo officially released a Joycon- charging station back in October which lit a fire under Switch 2 speculation.
I imagine if they do let you connect the old joycons wirelessly they'll probably still sell the old joycons, potentially we could see a Switch rebrand called Switch "1" that's simply coexists with the Switch 2, simply just get to make Sony find another 10 million PS2s.
I do hope for some kind of enhancement for Switch 1 games, even if "Dock" mode was used for Switch 2's handheld mode.

@@sansmojo From 2013 to 2019 the PS2 had sold 148 Million worldwide.
Then Sony updated it to 153 Million when the Nintendo DS "outsold it"
In 2024, Jim Ryan updated that total to 160 Million, despite the Switch only being 14 Million behind the PS2.
It will happen again.

I don’t understand why Kevin isn’t at a million subs yet he’s been posting quality content for years and I’ve been watching him basically since I got my switch a launch
Regarding backwards compatibility, I think games like 'Labo' or 'Ring Fit Adventure' will RUN on the Switch 2, but a notice will pop-up telling you that the game card you just inserted 'might require' you to connect extra or legacy peripherals such as the original Switch Joycons with the IR sensor in order for it to work correctly. After that you just hit 'OK' and the game will run just as it did on the original hardware.
I'd love a New Mario Paint, so I can share my drawings and my animations with my friends.
The "C" button might be a "cast" feature instead of a social feature. Some games could require two screens and it'll be great.
On the other hand, as a competitive Splatoon player I don't think the "mouse-like" controls or the "cast" feature will be in Splatoon 4. Also, for Splatoon 4 the original Pro Controller will be still enough for playing the game.
If there's a social feature like the MiiVerse or the DS pictochat would be very fun for sharing drawing made with the "mouse-like" joycons
Ring fit will work because the old joycon are expected to work wireless
6:00 Nintendo already released an adapter a few months ago that’s just for charging old joycons

@ are you talking about the camera rune? It’s severely limited compared to the Mario odyssey camera. Difference being just freeze framing the game and taking photos

I think it will be LCD because since the bezel size is pretty similar as the original Nintendo Switch.
I really concern about the magnetic parts of it.
Some Macbook users had an issue with Apple's standard Magsafe powercable.
Charging was not the problem, the metal chip that attach on the charging port was the problem.
I actually removed one from my classmate.
I really hope some metal chips won't damage the rail or the new Joy-Con.
Since it has a hole on it, I really hope any dust damages the connection pin.

I thought I saw the sensor. was harder to see because of the color, but i saw lines that looked like they were on there. might be just me, but take another look.
The "C" is not a button, it's to control the "cursor" in handheld.
Could be a "cast" feature for using two screens, either the dock to the TV or a USB-C screen attached on top of the Switch
20$ the top type C port on the Switch 2 will be for a second screen attachment for DS games.

My prediction is during the April Direct it will be announced that GameCube games are coming to NSO. However they will be exclusive to the Switch 2. Possibly another pay wall increase but I hope not.
I wish they do DS games, but they would have to change the switch 2 design of course
@ would just need a special grip to hold the S2 vertically with controllers on the side. There would be enough room for both screens. I watched a short recently where someone had done that
I don't think they'll do GameCube, They'll do DS and probably 3DS, Given how Nintendo still sells GameCube games as is

As a OG switch owner I would be bummed out if it’s not OLED. This is the whole reason I waited bc I thought the new one would be 🤦🏾♂️
Just get the switch OLED if you need an OLED screen that badly. I dont have ty is problem because i have a sony OLED tv so ill be good.

It’s greed at the highest level. Oled screens are better, they are an extremely standard at this point, inexpensive. They are also thinner so you could’ve actually put in better and stronger hardware. Nintendo decided nahhh we’d rather save this for a mid refresh on a device that is 5 years behind in hardware. Like bro I’m not expecting the latest and greatest processor or graphics but they are actively making decision so they can make more and hold back their own eco system
@@Honorbound43Yeah it is bullshit that OLED probably won’t be here but OLED isn’t needed. Look at the PlayStation portal. That screen is LCD but still beautiful.
@ it’s not about just beauty. LCD will NEVER get as dark. It strains the eyes when playing in the dark, and again you can’t put as much hardware in a device with an lcd. So the actively made a choice to cut their own foot off and make a cheaper device and change you out the ass for it.

At this point, I'm just waiting for the switch 2 event in april for more info. Another thing, how do you guys stream nintendo games? Do you have to use a capture card because I don't think the switch lets you stream games on the console itself like ps5. It doesnt record long enough either
The Wii u gamepad functionality recreation idea was killed by the fact that I don't see a single camera or microphone on the body of the new switch. That's kind of a letdown for me, I feel like a lot of games would have benefited at least from a microphone.
What if to play dual screen you use the top USB port to connect to the dock and use it as a dual screen with the tv ? 😅😂

The most important thing to me is enhancements for backwards compatible Switch 1 games!
Even if no new games ever came out, I'd still buy a Switch 2 if it could run old games at higher frame rates & resolutions...
I got so burnt out on how ugly games looked on every 4k diaplay in my house, along with struggling through such poor performance.
I don't believe Nintendo would ever put in the effort MS has with multiple gens of free upgrades to Xbox games, but at least allow the old games to take advantage of the more powerful hardware without dedicated patches (like PS5 Pro).
Now Nintendo has to deal with the same problem Playstation had to....what do u do with the 120 million console users from the prior generation? Not everyone will upgrade immediately.....thats alot of porential sales
I think Switch 2 won't have the same issue for a couple of reasons. Playstation 5 even now has a very small exclusive game library, and a big chunk of those are PS VR games that not everyone is interested in. Alot of PS5 games for a long time still came out on PS4, so the reason to upgrade was pretty small for a good while. Nintendo tends to sale well because of their exclusive library, and I doubt most of the games they make outside of maybe a couple at launch will come out for Switch 1 as well. PS5 also had bad stock issues that wasn't helped by scalpers and rumors are that Nintendo held off on the Switch 2 to make sure they had a big stock lined up for launch.
Just give me xbc2 and 3 at higher resolutions and I’ll buy it.

The switch 2 reveal is Still cgi and it does show the cut out for the ir sensor. Why is no one talking about the two sensor in the bottom next to the usb and the top sensor next to the top usb.

@@brokewithexpensivegames It a big one for me because first impressions are half the marketing, but other than that, the design is great. Hopefully, Nintendo fixes it. Still, if the leakers are right, then the specs would be a huge step up.
Nobody saw the PS5 and said "So it's just another console you plug into the TV and play with a controller? I already have a PS4. Why would I get this?" But I've seen TONS of this with the Switch 2. PS5 is a PS4 that's more powerful. An Xbox series X is an Xbox One that's more powerful. But Nintendo can't do this? Why?

Gonna be so pissed when it’s LCD not OLED. Seeing as OLED panels in bulk are so crazy cheap that there no excuse to not use OLED. And Nintendo is simply doing it just to have something to hold back for the mid cycle refresh and charge extra for no reason because OLED is so cheap.

I was surprised S2 turned out to be bigger. Like it or not, Nintendo's key customers are parents who buy games and hardware for their kids. Small hands, big handheld, bad idea.
Nintendo is 100% making a Lite model soon after, the new black color shows they're first targeting a slightly older audience, they'll probably have a smaller console by the holidays next year
